I have a huge exam in June, and I was originally planning on going on a cruise with a friend the day after as a way to celebrate/relax. Now, the problem has come up that she has to work (she's a teacher) and can't take off the last 3 days of school. There are no other cruises to go on, because I have to be back in school July 1, that was the week I had off to go somewhere. So now I don't know what I should do. Going on the cruise by myself isn't really an option because I would have to pay double the amount. I really want a nice, relaxing vacation where I don't need to worry about anything, I want people to serve me fruity drinks in a fancy cup with an umbrella. I don't want to be running around trying to see the sights and all that.

So does anyone have an idea of where I can go where I can just lie out on a beach and relax somewhere that won't be too expensive? I'm in NY, so the cruise was perfect because it left from NY too, but I'm willing to fly. I just really am going to need to go somewhere. I don't mind going somewhere solo, I tend to be pretty outgoing anyway, and I also don't mind hanging out with myself either (I'm good company :thumbsup2 ) If it matters, I'm 23, but I don't need a huge party scene, so long as there is sun and tropical music, I'm happy.

Have you got a "Hot springs" type of resort nearby? How about a getaway at a casino? You deserve a break.

What do you mean by a Hot springs resort? Since I don't know what it means, I'm going to go with no. Not sure about a casino getaway, I don't think casino's play tropical music. My mom suggested Vegas for a few days when my friend is done with work and before I have to go back to school, but Vegas is the type of place where you have to run around, stay out late, etc. otherwise, it's a waste, for me anyway. I would have a hard time going to Vegas and not going to the different hotels and spending all day walking down the strip. Not what I'm looking for on this vacation.

I hear the Keys are wonderful

Ohh, and there is also that island out in the Gulf of Mexico which sounds amazing... I think its called
South Padre Island.

Oh, or Bermuda - I think Jetblue goes there pretty inexpensively.

I've never been to any of these but if I were solo I'd probably check them out since I've heard nice things about all 3.

Hmmm... Bermuda... the cruise is supposed to go to Bermuda, I don't know why I didn't think of finding a resort there. I live near JFK which is I think a main hub for Jet Blue, so that should be ok.... something I am definitely going to check out. I saw pictures of the beaches, and it looks wonderful there.
