I need a room for one night in December. There is no availability showing. What are my options? How likely is a waitlist for December 11th to go through( I realize this is the height of DVC). If nothing becomes available and I have to go the cash route, what are my best options for getting a deal? I am an annual pass holder( well, I have my voucher..lol) and will be there in October (if they offer a bounce back...Is that a blacked out time?). Can someone help me who has BTDT with this scenario? Thanks!

What size room are you looking for?

A studio, my Dh and I are taking a quick anniversary trip so it will just be for the 2 of us.

Don't forget that you could rent out the points you were going to use for DVC, to make some money, to help pay for a non-DVC room.

Just doing a quick check of the resort availability tool, I'm seeing this night available at SSR in a 1br and 2br.

My wife and I happened to find Dec 14-17 available at Poly in a LV studio while looking a couple weeks ago. Since then we switched to a BWV Standard view 1br and then subsequently had our waitlist for BWV G/P 1br come through within a week of booking.

So I would say just keep checking a few times a day to see what pops up and at the same time book 2 waitlists just in case.

Thank you for the reminder. We have a few other trips planned so those points won't go unused ;)

A studio is really all we need...

Ahhhh ok. This will likely make it tougher as studios are generally harder to come by at this point. Not impossible though by any means. Check the availability tool as often as you can and book 2 studio waitlists wherever you would like to have that added backup.

Thank you! I saw the ssr 1 bedroom just pop up. I figured something would come through and if not, I am prepared to pay for a cash room.

Yea being only 1 night I would think you have a decent shot of something popping up/waitlist coming through. If not, like you said, cash is just fine for that 1 night. Good luck and enjoy. Happy (early) Anniversary!

We often will make a cheap cash room reservation as a backup & then just set up a couple WL and stalk the availability tool for the reservation we want. For just 1 night, odds are more likely you can find something.

You'll get something no issue from stalking the site and setting up a waitlist at your favourite. Do not overlook the Polynesian for stalking. There are hundreds of standard studios and people don't realize how much rooms pop in and out of that inventory.

I pieced together two weeks at the Polynesian, over Christmas and NYE, around this time last year.

Just looked it up - 288 Standard studios at the Polynesian.

Good luck-- I believe Dec 11 is the Epcot DVC member night event. Stalking and waitlisting will help, but have a backup just in case!

I just checked for Dec 6th, which I waitlisted (to extend our trip from 6 to 7 nights). I was able to snag a studio at SSR, but I also have a night booked at the Yacht Club for under $300 via a promotion. I'll decide by end of September how we will spend that night. I was hoping for BWV or BCV, and have been checking sporadically. I just checked the availability today for any DW studios on Dec 6, and there was absolutely nothing....

I just got my Dec 6 waitlist! I called Member Services to discuss the upcoming trips (room requests, etc) and confirm the waitlist details.

I got Beach club that night! That means no SSR and I just canceled my yacht club back up!

Waitlist and CALL/stalk!!

OP, Dec 11th is the night of the DVC member event at EPCOT. It is highly unlikely for a studio as most of those were booked at 11 months as people were preparing for this event. IMHO, Grab whatever you can ASAP.
