We're leaving from Exit 8 - Hightstown and going to Newark Airport for our first Disney Cruise!!! There are 6 of us so I anticipate a van, but I've heard there stretch limos that would fit all of us.

I've called a few places out of the phone book and have gotten quite a bit of information - not all of it good! I think what annoyed me most was the automatic 20% gratuity each way on top of a fuel charge, tolls, tax, and a parking fee for the return trip. Prices have ranged from $170 to $200 one way.

Can anyone recommend a limo company?

Alternately: Someone also told me of a system they use when they fly out of Philly. They park their car at Pacifico Ford for the time they're gone. They go to Pacifico with their car loaded, someone from Pacifico drives them to the airport, and they park the car on their lot for the week. For your return, you call them when you land, they pick you up in your car, and you drive the employee back to Pacifico.

Does anyone know if Newark has something like this?

Many thanks!!!

It's much cheaper to drive yourself and pay to park. We always park at the airport but alot of people on these boards recommend Avistar. Since I've never used them I have no experience with them. I'm sure someone will post that knows all about parking at Avistar.

Limo Now (limonowllc@netzero.net) serves central NJ. We have used them twice for airport transportation. They were reasonable. Using them again in September. The owner is Tony. Have never used them for van service, but I'm sure if you dropped Tony an e-mail, he'd let you know.

We also drive to Newark, even when we lived in Millstone or Freehold. Just not worth the money for the car service and there is ample parking available at the airport.

We also use Avistar and have been very happy with them. If you go to their website (www.avistarparking.com) you'll also be able to download coupons that will reduce the price. You pull in, unload and they put you and your luggage on a van over to the airport. When you are ready to come back, you call them and they send the van to get you. You're car will be waiting for you when you get to the parking facility.

Not sure if I want to add the cost of a car service to/from the airport to my vacation bill when parking and tolls will most likely be less than the one way trip.

I know it's cheaper to drive and park at the airport, but I want to avoid the "duck walk" across the parking lot with 4 kids in tow (age ranges from 5 to 10), each pulling their own suitcase and carrying their backpacks. The luggage will be fairly large for them because we're gone for 9 days, and we will have extra clothes for dinners, pirate night, etc. for the cruise.

I also know I have the option of having DH drop us off at the terminal and then parking, but then I sit in the terminal waiting for him to park the van and come back (at least 30 min) with 4 kids and a load of luggage. The same would be true on the return....wait for him to get the van with 4 kids and tons of luggage. The kids are good, but they're going to be wired. Neither of these options are our idea of fun, let alone starting out a vacation this way.

We've used Aidan's Limo. Our driver was Owen and he was very pleasant and cheerful. :rotfl2:

We like to fly out of Philly. We park at Kinney on Enterprise Ave and take the shuttle. They pick you up right at your car and drop you off with in front of the skycap check-in. We've found rates from PHL to MCO are cheaper, and it's only about a 15 minute further drive for you.

Parking rates are cheaper in Philly than Newark too! With a AAA rate it's about $10 a day. You can't get a limo to Freehold Raceway Park for that price! :rotfl:

Ducklite...I would have preferred flying out of Philly, but when I booked these tickets on Christmas Eve, Philly flights were about $200 more for us. Apparently, I'm making up the difference now!!!

I'm so glad to hear Owen was pleasant and cheerful, although I think I know someone who might disagree... I'll have to call Aidan's Limo Service and see what their prices are like!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We always drive and park at the airport..dh drops me and the kids off at the terminal, we check the bags at the curb and then meet him at the gate. He takes his boarding pass and id with him and I have mine and the kids. It works out well every time!! :thumbsup2

You can check your husband's luggage without him being there?

Yes, each person is allowed to check 2 pieces of luggage. Me and my 2 kids can check a total of 6 pieces which is more than we would ever bring anyway.

We never use Newark long term parking. As I said above, we use off site and they have the shuttle van right there when you pull up and they drop you off right in front of the curbside check in. They will help you load all of your bag onto and off of the van so there is no walking through a parking lot. No need to have dh drop you off and wait for him. Use off site parking. So much easier.

The last time I parked offsite (Avistar) they dropped us off in a seperate lot by the airtrain and we had to go up the (broken) escalator and take the train to our terminal. We were told they were no longer allowed to drop curbside.

Thanks for the info on Avistar. I'm going to call them and get some info.
