We have always stayed at the Dolphin. Love the location and definetly love the pool area.

But our family has gotten older and bigger and one room at the Dolphin just won't do it anymore and there's NO way I can afford two rooms there so.......

Where can I find a nice hotel that would be similar for a family of two parents and three older children (17, 19 and 26). We would like a hotel with a great pool area, too if possible.

We will have a rental car but would still like to be rather close to the Disney area so we could come back in the afternoons to hang at the pool. :cool1:

I second the idea of a condo but would personally do a 3-bedroom with kids that age. Lots of choices for probably the same price as one room at the Swan or Dolphin.

Whether it's a two or three bedroom you would still have lots more space than you have in the past plus an extra bathroom.

People here give great reviews to Cypress Point and Cypress Point Grand Villas and they are an easy commute to the parks. I haven't stayed there myself but I dont know if it rates as high as the Swan or Dolphin.

Check out www.vrbo.com for rates on condos at Windsor Palms, Windsor Hills and Emerald Island. All three are an easy commute and you will have tons of choices to fit your needs. They all have commuunity pools and ammenities, like a hotel. We have personally stayed in Windsor Palms and are booked for Windsor Hills in 2006.

Best of luck.

Good luck.

We just stayed at Cypress Pointe for a week in the first part of December.. Place was very clean, and very nice. Would definately recommend it..

Try a Disney Vacation Club Condo. You could buy points from a DVC member which I is very common and economical.

how about a condo instead? You do know about the sale that the Dolphin/Swan are currently having?

No....what sale??

What sale are they having at the Swan Dolphin??? I'm a teacher and have always gotten that rate. I wish they had a special rate for a suite of some sort there. :wizard:

Condo Question for those that have mentioned them.......is that about the same as renting the houses/villas that I read so much about?

no - if you go
www.skyauction.com
you will pay there $195 (rci fee) plus $15 (their fee) plus what you bid.

which could be a $1.

so you could get a condo (1 or 2 bedroom) for $211 for the week!!!

If you want those heavenly beds for a lesser price try the Sheraton Safari. It will run you about 1/2 that of the Swan/Dolphin. We've stayed at the Sheraton Safari and the Dolphin. The Dolphin is a top-notch resort. However, we were really pleased w/ the Sheraton Safari. It had a lot of the same amenities and qualities we'd expect from a Sheraton-- and a much nicer price tag.

I second the recommendation for the Sheraton Safari. Like the Swan and the Dolphin, it's a Starwood hotel. They have suites that were refurbished fairly recently, and the location is very close to the Downtown Disney hotel area.
