I need a holding points expert...

Ok so I have confused myself yet again about the idea of a holding account...

For example, my use year is April. I currently have a reservation that used 24 points. If I was to cancel say 2 days before I was supposed to arrive, what is the date that I would have to use my 24 points by?

If the date of stay was 3/31/09 or before, they would have to be used be 3/31/09.

If the date of stay was 4/1/09 or after, they whould have to be used by 3/31/10.
