I Need a Good Self-Tanner

Hi All-
We are T minus 2 days from our trip and I am as pastey white as can be. I really don't want to spend too much time in the sun when we are there (lying in it I mean...not avoiding it all together), but am afraid of children mistaking me for Snow White and demanding an autograph.

I have used a clinique facial tanner and LOVE it, but it is time my dried-out-Northeastern legs got a little attention too.

Any suggestions for a good one?

I'm also taking suggestions on products to avoid. Thanks!

I like the Loreal and Nutragena stuff. But with 2 days to go, I'd hit up the local Mystic Tan and load up on Jergins Natural Glow.

I have a friend that swears by the Sally Hanson spray on stuff.

I really like Au Courant. You can buy it from a salon or they have a web site. It is a little time consuming, but it looks very natural. I bought the mousse, & the lotion (which is instant color). I would put the mousse on first, then layer the lotion on top. It did not really have that bad of a smell either.

I will second the mystic tan too. I love to do that. I do use the regular tanning bed, but when I want to look really dark I go in there too. It only lasts about 5 days though.

I would normally recommend Neutragena bronzing foam, but if you've never used it before it's probably not a good idea this close to your trip. I wonder if the Mystic Tan would be a better option. If you do decide to DIY, make sure you exfoliate prior and especially the really dry areas like heels, knees and elbows.

I have been using the Natural Glow lotion, and even using the darkest they have, and it has turned out great. I only use it like every other day, and put regular lotion on immediately after I use the Natural Glow, keeps it spread out real nice so I don't get funky colored stripes.

Second this...go to mystic tan, then maintain it with the Jergens.

You won't get good results at home in 2 days. The best home self tanners in my opinion are the ones like jergens that work more slowly. They look so much less fake and give more even results.

Oh...and I too love the clarins for the face! :thumbsup2

I need something, too. I'm going to try the Jergen's Natural Glow and see what it does for me. I have mayonnaise legs right now after being hidden from the sun for months.

I really like the Tan Towelettes at Bath and Body Works. I am very pale and they are great on the face and body. I also use the Natural Glow from Jurgens.

I just tryed the Banana Boat tinted self tanning lotion.

I was not impressed. I loved the lotion, and the scent was great (not stinky) but, I thought the color was looking too orange and fake.

You could try the darkest Jergens.

I know that there are probably better brands. GMA actually did a segment on this last Spring, and tested several brands, and they had a clear winner. But, I didn't write it down!!!! (need a kicking myself in the rear smiley here!)

There is a new Loreal tanning lotion, just like the Jergens. I think I will try it next.
