Hi

Just back Sept. 9th, and it seems like ages ago DW is three months pregnant, so tha means probably no Disney for us for 1.5 years. I am trying to think of an a way to make it to Disney before that. Any thoughts..

I have to add that we do have 2 DDs one is 8 and another is 4.

How about the last chance of fun without small children whining for this and that. Or an object lesson on how NOT to parent a child, or because its there and why not.

:thumbsup2

How about using YOAMD as an excuse? My DW an dI are doing that - our honeymoon included three days at DLR-Paris and that was just July 4. We're going to the World for New Year's.

Give the kid to Grandma & Grandpa, and go to WDW for a week or two. That should work. Just say it'll be good bonding time for the grandparents and you want to get away for one last romantic retreat! :lmao:

We go to Disney for the same reason Sir Edmund Hillary climbed Mt. Everest, because it's there. That should be reason enough for you.

:rotfl: I like Bill's answer!! mine would be, I want to go ..period. it makes me a happier person which is good for all the people in my life! :rotfl: come on, you don't really need an excuse to go - it's a desire, a craving, a need - just like some people need to play lotto or go to AC - we need the mouse!

good luck and start planning....

Michelle :thumbsup2

DH and I were trying to talk my mom into going on a trip with us. All of our suggestions met with "ok" - as in "if I must".
BUT - when we mentioned WDW she said "OK" - as in "YES - that is exactly what I want to do!".
So we are planning a child-free trip for us and mom. Should be fun! :sunny:

I go when I need a pixie dust recharge. :thumbsup2

expedito ergo sum

I ride Expedition Everest therefore I am.

Celebrate your essence. You deserve the recognition.

I've been going for no reason all these years??? Huh-oh. Actually, I have used birthdays, anniversaries, and other milestones as a viable excuse. I think you need to go before the new baby arrives and I like the idea of leaving the kids with grandma/grandpa for a nice romantic vacation before the new baby arrives. That's good enough reason, right?

OR, you could go because you want to experience the Year of a Million Dreams.

OR you could go because you just can't control yourself. LIKE US.

Have fun. And, GO!!!!!! I expect a trip report upon your return.

On a solemn note I'll tell you don't wait and go now. My SIL just passed away in Sept. from Breast Cancer. She was 41. She leaves behind my brother and 3 young children.

I don't tell you this for pity or for sympathy but sometimes, just sometimes a wake up call comes around and you realize you don't always need an excuse or rationalization for what you do. Others may judge but they don't always know the whole story and there is no need to explain it to them.

Follow your heart. I say go because you can :) We are. We just booked our trip last week and we leave next week.

So to end on a happy note - Woo! Hoo! We're goin' to Disney! :woohoo:

10.) To bring Grandma/grandpa to bond with their grandchildren around a pool, restaurant and nice hotel. :cool1:

9.) To benefit the known free world - stress relief!!!! :thumbsup2

8.) To be with the older children as their special time. :goodvibes

7.) To learn about new technologies and rides. :stir:

6.) To keep Mom sane by getting her out!!!!!

5.) To spoil the family by having alot of fun planning for it - it's like a 2nd Christmas for the everyone!

4.) To see if Mickey & Minnie are having fun!

3.) To be carefree for a week and not have to worry about life's problem's!

2.) To enjoy the warmth of Florida when the north part of the country is freezing!!!!! :sunny:

1.) TO HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!

I keep a list of reasons, and pull out an appropriate one:

1) Mother-In-Law can't come to visit this month.
2) Daughter #2 just got an A (or B or C) in college.
3) Cat didn't have a fur ball today.
4) WDW didn't have a price increase - this week.
5) The motorcycle started on the first kick.
6) The law mower died and I can't cut the grass.
7) New Granddaughter didn't "burp" on my shoulder.
8) I didn't lose any more hair overnight.
9) I dreamed that TV was reducing the number of Reality shows.
10) Eisner is on TV, and not on the Disney Board.
11) I woke up on the "green" side of the grass this morning.
12) Social Security is solvent until at least 2008.
13) Brother-In-Law finally got a job.
14) My credit card debt is only larger than the GDP of three countries.
15) I can still tell the difference between Chip and Dale.

GO to disney because you need to go it is research, to see wht the effects of the happiest place on earth has on a baby travelling within the mom, then you need to go right after to see the effects it has on a mom who has just given birth to her 3rd child, then i think you should go to see the effect disney has on parents who leave their children with grandparents/friends/auntie/uncle.......... hahahaha
go because it is your Unbirthday,...
i think you get the picture, any time you go to disney you can think of anything you want, we all love it there and it produces such happiness within us doesnt it, and that is the best reason, er... excuse yet!
Oh yes, and if you need a research assistant to take notes, i'm available...haha

<3 <3 <3 <3

how about just wanting to spend time with the older kids? The baby will take up a lot of time and they will need to be patient and might not get a lot of time with mom and dad. A quick trip wouldnt hurt with just the big kids...and they would appreciate the extra love...

well, that is the excuse we planned should we have kids (we discussed this during our trip & we arent even married yet!!!)
