I need a cheap but tasty punch for a wedding shower....

Any suggestions?

Any kind of sherbert depending on the color you want and ginger ale.

Just pour the cold ginger ale over the sherbert and stir it up. Most people love it and it is cheap.

Her colors are HOT pink and orange show that would work!

I am so not the domesticated goddess :rotfl2:

I always do a big bowl of cranberry juice, ginger ale, orange juice, sliced oranges on top and a jar of marichino cherries.

Just add as much as you need to get your desired taste.

Ps...

Just saw you were having a REAL birthday...LOL
My bro is a leap year baby!
We teased him so much when he was little!:confused3

My problem is my Dh says when it's not on the 29th, I shouldn't get any presents. (of course I still do) Also, he says I should celebrate on 3/1 and I argue with him that I was born in February and I am celebrating in February.:rotfl:

I always say I am going to be 12 instead of 48.

I love the sherbert and gingerale punch. I can sit next to the punch bowl and drink that all night. Here's another recipe for punch that I love.

1qt pineapple juice,
1qt cranberry juice
1qt tea
1qt gingerale
1 1/2 c. sugar

Add sugar to tea while it's hot (mixes better). Mix the first 3 juices
together, pour over ice. At the last minute, add gingerale and mix.

It doesn't get much cheaper than this, and it always goes over well at the showers/parties we've used it at. You mix 1 gal red hawaiian fruit punch w/ 2 2liter bottles of walmart's version of Sprite (I don't know why, but this one tastes better in the punch than actual Sprite) and mix in 2 qt container of orange sherbert. Easy 'nough? :goodvibes

I use 1 can Hawaiian punch, 1 can pineapple juice & 2 liter of raspberry ginger ale & raspberry sherbet (with an ice cream scoop). the top is kind of foamy & it's wonderful. Had this for my 1st baby shower & so many parties since then.

We always did orange sherbert, orange juice and sprite.

Freeze some water in a bunt pan or fill balloons with water and freeze, peel off the balloon and put in the punch, it will keep it cold with out diluting. You could also freeze oj and put it into the punch.

I use a bottle of any punch or fruit drink and mix it with ginger ale, or any other white fizzy soda - store brands of lemon/lime works well. You can use variety of flavor to accomodate the color you need. Freeze some of the punch in paper cups to make larger ice cubes and the punch doesn't get diluted. I leave out the sherbert - this way the punch bowl stays nice looking right to the bottom and is easy to refill if necessary.

Mmmmmm...I love that sherbet punch. I always use rainbow sherbet, some kind of red juice and sprite or ginger ale. I don't really care what the liquids are, as long as it has that rainbow sherbet in it!!

Evergreen Punch is my favorite - lemon-lime kool-aid, sugar, pineapple juice, ginger ale & lime sherbet (optional)

1 large can of juicy juice (the berry)(or punch)
1 2 litre bottle of 7up
a sliced orange on top
some ice (at the last minute)

This is delicious, I make it in a punch bowl every holiday and I always end up making a second bowl full people love it!

Srtawberry Punch

2 Bottles lemon lime soda
1 container Welches strawberry punch (sold cold near the OJ)
1 bag of frozen while strawberrys (keeps it COLD and fun to get one in your cup!)
1 container of raspberry sherbet (optional)

I've done the above punch with or without the sherbet. I have als0 left out the sherbet and added RUM and lime slices and called it STRAWBERRY DAQUERIE PUNCH for those that could drink....

Pina Colada Punch

1 Bottle of Wal-Mart Pineapple Soda
2 Bottles Goya or Coco Rico Coconut soda
Frozen pineapple rings
Pineapple sherbet (optional)
2 tablespoons of rum extract or about 1.5 cups real rum.

Have fun! I think the possibilities are endless!

I have always mixed ginger ale, 7up and sherbet. My sister used Mountain Dew instead of 7up last week and it was really good!

OK, this is my secret punch recipe.

2 Sm boxes of Jello (whatever color you want - I use sugarfree but reg works, too!)
2 Qts hot water
2 cups sugar (I only use about 1 1/2c myself)
1 big can pineapple juice
1 6 oz frozen lemonade concentrate
2 2-ltr bottle ginger ale

Dissolve jello and sugar in hot water. Add pineapple juice and lemonade concentrate. Pour into ziploc bags or other cintainers; freeze. When ready to serve, use a food chopper to chop up the frozen mixture (do this in a separate bowl so you don't crack the punch bowl). Pour gingerale over and stir up to make a slushy mixture. Pour into punchbowl. One batch serves 25-30 people. You can make the frozen part up way ahead of time and keep in the freezer whenever you need it!

Tips: 1) Remove the frozen mixture from the freezer a few hours before you need it, either putting it in the fridge or a cooler. You want it to thaw a little so it's not so hard to chop up but not too soft that it's mushy.

2) If you use ziploc bags, it'll make 2-3 bags full (leave some headroom in the bag for expansion). Chop up one bag at a time and pour just part of the bottle of ginger ale in it. I almost never use the whole bottle of GA becasue we like it extra slushy. Hint for filling those bags: put the bag in a big coffee can or something similar and fold the edge of the bag over to keep it from flopping and spilling!

3) We have a big metal bowl at church that I use for chopping up the frozen mixture. The metal keeps it from thawing out too quickly. Onc eyou mkae up enough for the first bowlful, you cna go ahead and chop up more and stick it in the freezer to wait for the gingerale. Taht way, you can enjoy the party/shower instead of being stuck in the kitchen - ask me how I know!

4) The grape jello makes a good tasting punch, but the color's yucky - looks kinda gray, so I wouldn't suggest using it.

This punch is always a huge hit even though it does not sound very good...

1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream
1 large can pinapple juice
2-2liter bottles of cream soda (I have used only one when using a smaller punch bowl and it turns out fine)

If you use generic items this is very cheap.

Not real cheap but definitely addictive! Cook coffee and sugar in saucepan and pour in with the rest of ingredients.

1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream
1/2 gal. choc ice cream
1 cup sugar
small jar instant coffee
1 gal. whole milk

= yummy!
