My guess is that it didn't necessarily deteriorate but kind of "blew up" when the OP was "outed" as not being on the up and up about his agenda while posting here. There were people questioning it and upset they had been duped but other than that I think it just had come to the point where there was nowhere for it to go but downhill. JMO though

It appears that the OP of the "good deed" thread had his own agenda and he was using the DIS boards to promote his cause. He wasn't the sweet innocent that he made himself out to be.

So sad that people have to create a false identity to promote their ideas. So much better to be honest instead of one lie after another.

I wonder if he thought we were all stupid Disney freaks & he needed to stoop down to our level to help us understand? That's just the way it made me feel when I read the linked post where he mentioned our board. Really odd though huh?

No, he didn't out himself he was outed. T_M posted a link to another board where he ws posting in quite a different normal adult manner. Said something there about posting here in a gentle, mild manner or something like that.
Some detective work was done and the truth came out.

Its really too bad all that happened because it pitted the doubters against the believers and it did nothing but cause strife.

It stinks when someone comes on here and just purposely causes trouble an/or dupes people.

I'm a little lost myself. I understand locking threads but I do wish they weren't deleted because it'd save a lot of questions! I'm getting bits of it from the cryptic posts but I think it'd only be fair to explain what the heck happened? I tended to avoid his posts because something seemed "off" but I'd still like to know what caused others to realize it too.

I'm with you 4cruisin. I've had an inkling for months that the OP wasn't who/what he presented himself to be, but I don't understand how that persona promotes his personal agenda. I have read posts where he says he wants to be perceived as being meek and mild in order to get his message across but I don't see the logic. I'm much less inclined to listen to the message of someone who doesn't come across as passionate and intelligent.
