I must be spending too much time on this board.

Both yesterday and today when I was speaking with the CR CM about making resv. (yesterday) and canceling them (today) I mentioned AP rate and they were both like "what is AP". Either we are quite the trend setters here on the Disboards or WDW hired a bunch of new CR CM's and they are quite clueless. :rolleyes1

Alice Sr.,

When I finalized my Feb reservations at CBR and mentioned that I got an AP, the CM tried to look for an airline discount.

Yes, I did the same thing. The weird thing is, the cm said "yes, ap rates are out." She must read our beloved board! :)

When I said something about my "AP" to a CM friend, she said "Wow, you are becoming one of them." LOL. I got the gist that CM's tend to call us Passholders... :goodvibes

I learned years ago that CRO refers to AP rates as "passholder" rates and since then that is the term I have used when I call to ask about AP rates, i.e. "are there any passholder rates available for that period?"

I remember reading that many CMs had no idea what people meant by AP rates!

Not everyone who books your reservation at WDTC or CRO works for Disney. They contract with many call centers, including the one where my friend works in Houston. My friend is actually a reservationist for Continental Airlines. They work half their shift booking flights for the airline, and the second half 'being' CMs for CRO or WDTC. She even makes PSs for people who call the DINE number (I found this last bit of information the most helpful to ME personally! ha!)

This is why they tell you to hang up and call again if you get a CM who doesn't want to or can't help you.

This is disappointing! It is always more fun thinking that you are talking to a CM who is sitting at a desk AT DISNEYWORLD! Heck, we all know they are sitting in a room above Main Street USA, right?????

I don't want to think about talking to someone in Houston! lol. :rotfl2:

I thought they were all at the top of cindy's castle! :rotfl:

Seriously, that the main reason why I now use Dreams Unlimited .... I got tired of training CMs everytime I called. ;) It's very common for them to be confused with questions or comments about codes, aps, PINs, etc.

I read a lot of negative comments about the CR CM's and thought people were just being picky. The CM's I spoke with were not bad just not the quality I'm used to for making DVC ressies.
