We are going to dlp in Oct Half term!

It is all still a bit surreal. I won a holiday to any Eurocamp of my choice, and because we had already booked our holiday for this year Hubbie couldn't get any summertime off we decided Oct half term. I chose La Croix Du Vieux Point which is apparently only an hour away from Dlp, has anyone stayed there?! I couldn't possibly be that close and not visit! So I got the 4 days for the price of 3 tickets! We have always travelled by Eurostar so driving will be different!

I know from reading on here that it's going to be so much busier than we have ever experienced at dlp but I am soooooo excited! My 3 year old is most excited about meeting Jack and Sally and my 6 year old (will be 7) is excited that he will be tall enough for most of the thrill rides this time! The last time we went to dlp was 2012 and our youngest was just a baby so she stayed with my parents!

Look forward to chatting with you all over the next few months!

We are there October. The way I am looking at it is more people more atmosphere lol. Might see you Great prize

Congratulations on your win! Halloween is a great choice to visit in and I'm sure you will love it despite the crowds. Never stayed at La Croix Du Vieux Point but have stayed many times in the past at Le Village Parisien which would be en route and used to take us a good half hour. Roads have probably improved since we last did it but I think you would have a couple of peage tolls to factor in when costing the drive. The Village car park is cheaper than the main Disney one and probably more convenient in terms of lower crowd levels at security entrance. Weather often lovely during the day time at Halloween too! Have a wonderful time :goodvibes

Thank you Cherrymarzipan! Thanks for the tips, will look up the tolls, I hadn't thought of them! Will park in Disney Village car park too!

Excellent! Thank you for finding this out, that's a good way to cut the cost. Do you know how much the tolls are, I tried looking earlier but couldnt find anything. Just trying to weigh it all up. Possibly thinking I might look at the options of catching a local train too? Decisions decisions!

That seems do able. Oh my gosh I am so excited! Thank you for your help with this, I am useless with directions! I think I will print these directions off, we have sat nav but just incase it takes us the long way!

Congrats on your win:flower1: let us know how was this Eurocamp, as we are thinking of visiting one after our son starts school and will be stock with going only during school holidays so this could be interesting option

Thank you, yes will be sure to let you know. It's a first for us, so hopefully it will be good and an option for future trips too!

Ive stayed at La Croix du vieux Pont at Berny Riviere a few times. Its a really nice relaxing campsite. Its a few yrs since Ive been but I seem to remember it took about an hour to drive and was a fairly straight forward drive.Im not sure if Id have wanted to do it for 4 days though. The campsite used to arrange trips to the park by coach but I think we decided it was too restrictive in times.

That's nice to hear, I am excited but a little nervous as never stayed anywhere like it before. We are going for a week so hoping to split the 4 days up a little so it's not so hard going. I think we will be taking it in turns with the driving days!

I used to stay around Easter time so cooler weather like you will have in October but there was a nice indoor pool and relaxing walks around the site along the river -there was also a man made beach on site and a bar/restaurant. Its walkable from the site into the small local town but we would drive to the nearest towns of Compeigne and Soissons on market days to explore. I think Soissons is the nearest place with a train station and seem to remember looking into going from there but might have been to go into Paris rather than DLP (we didn't end up using it in the end)
