I have no idea where people got this stereotype that women are obsessed with shoes..having shoes, buying shoes, wearing shoes. But I must be a freak because I hate shoes. I own FOUR...count 'em one two three FOUR pairs of shoes (one pair of tennies, 2 pairs of Doc Maartens, one pair of platinum colored heels). That's it. I've never understood why some women are so into shoes and shoe shopping. To me it's just a pain in the rear. I have fairly wide, flat feet which makes finding comfortable shoes a problem. I'd rather be barefoot and I don't wear shoes unless I absolutely have to.

Shoes are EVIL! :teeth:

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   please tell me you like purses then!!!! this isnt normal! lol just kidding its okay you dont like shoes lots of people dont and they cost too much money to have lots... but that doesnt stop me from buying six pairs of old navy flip flops at a time! :o

I guess so. :-)

TBH, I don't see the point of wearing shoes anyway.

And what is the deal with those shoes with the teeny weeny really super sharp pointed toes? They look really wierd to me and I wonder how any woman can fit her toes in there!

*edited for Nemo...I don't like purses either. I had ONE purse that I bought at Gadzooks for friggin ever until somebody ripped it off back in Dec. Someone gave me a replacement purse because they felt sorry for me and I recently bought another one, but that's only because it's the only time I'd ever seen an initial bag with my letter (G) on it. :)*

Bath and Bodyworks ROCKS! Do you know if they still carry the Coco Cabana lotion? I just ran out (got it last summer) and need some more but I rarely go in there and I love that scent. :)

I just got a wonderful coconul lime verbana set for mothers day... its wonderful.. if that helps you!

I only own 4 pair too! I'm not into shoes or purses.

own 1 pair of shoes (on the verge of falling apart) and 1 pair of sneakers that I wear all the time (Walmart $14.95). I have 1 purse that DH got me for my birthday (he did a good job picking it out, I love it!) and I don't like to go clothes shopping either... guess I am just a freak!
However, I DO love Bath and Body Works! Dad just got me a gift card for my birthday.. since they discontinued my Cool Citrus Basil, I am gonna have to check out the Coconut Lime Verbena...

That's the way I am, Otto'sDoll, with my shoes. I buy a cheap pair and wear them till they literally are falling apart.

absolutely, TOV. I HATE shoe shopping. I will just go to Kmart, find a pair of Cobbie Cuddlers that fit and wear them for a year. My work shoes are all scuffed and the bottoms are split. Even DH noticed and says I should just go... (Then I will wear the original ones back and forth to the pool till they literally fall apart on my feet.)

I hate shoes too! I too have wide feet and even though shoes are made wider now I still have a hard time finding shoes that fit right. I have been wearing men's tennis shoes and sandals for a long time. When I buy dress shoes I go someplace where you don't have any help and just try on shoes until I find a pair that are comfortable.

Well I OWN several pairs of shoes (7, 8? maybe), but there are only 3 pairs I wear regularly. Wear my flip flops everywhere but to school, can't wear them to school because we're dissecting and some of the guys like juggling scalpels (meaning sharp blades fly through air, land on floor...don't want my feet sliced). I wear either my good old running shoes or backless sneakers to school, depending on how late I am getting out of the house in the morning.

Yup.::yes:: I am so cheap when it comes to shoes. My tennies are a pair of $9 Payless shoes that I've had for a year plus that have gone the distance for me. Walked around soaking wet for close to 10 hrs at Seaworld last summer. Spent a few days wandeirng around the local Six Flags. Had ice cream and soda and all manner of things spilled on them at work and been stretched out a bit when I got pregnant and my feet bloated up like balloons. But they are hanging in ther and still mostly fit. I won't give them up till they fall apart on me. And even then, I'll probably go back to Payless for another pair of cheap shoes.

I used to get the cheap shoes too. But once my sister started having problems with her feet she told me that I must start buying better shoes. The thing is that my foot is almost as wide as it is long. It's hard to find extra wide shoes. For the past two years I have gotten shoes from my sisters for my birthday. One pair cost almost $200. That's just too much, but they fit well. So I can't complain.
