One year ago today we were on our first family vacation at Disney! We had so much fun! 5 nts, 6 days at POR, 1 day at Sea World, 1 day at Universal Studios, 1 day at the beach before we headed back to TN. DH and I were talking this morning about what a great trip it was and how we wish we could go back. Unfortunately it will be a while before we can. DH works for Bosch Automotive and they are closing the plant and moving it to Mexico. He will get laid off either Summer of 06 or for sure by Summer 07. Maybe, just maybe we can go before our oldest DD graduates from high school in 09. :teeth: I guess I'll just have to go back through all my pictures and relive the memories!!
Have a great weekend folks!

Hopefully you'll go back soon!! I feel a little bit like you do. We went last year
in April & we skipped going this year & I went thru this Disney withdrawal in
April this year. I wanted to go back so bad. God willing-we are planning for
next April. That's when I found these wonderful boards. Although it makes
me so much more anxious to go when I read about all the people leaving in just days!! I have to wait 11 months!! Well I hope you can make it back to Disney soon (maybe if it is just for a few days). ::MickeyMo

I hope that you can make it there before 09 --- keep sending the pixie dust your way. I start bugging DH about going again about two years later, we are on a single income and I have two teenage step children, we have a Dinsey Jar, that any "extra" money that comes in, goes in the Jar. usually within a year, there is quite a bit. It is hard not to dip into it for other things, but Disney is a little more important than most of the other things we think we want. Good luck.

In a way we are a one income family too. I'm a home based travel agent so altho I "work" I am on straight commission so if I don't sell, I don't make money! One month I may have a good paycheck, the next month, not. It's very very up and down and seasonal. When DH gets laid off, it'll be really tough. My MIL asked me when I was going to get a "real job". :sad2:
As you can imagine, I get a little bent out of shape about that comment!
Hopefully we can go in a couple years.
Good luck on your "Disney jar" That's a great idea!

I feel your pain. We're missing Disney this year, too. We had an inkling last December that my dh was going to get laid off (company has been doing really badly) and sure enough, the first week of February, they let him go. Fortunately we'd had the foresight to cancel our May trip before things became non-refundable, but it's still such a bummer.

We have plans to head to WDW in Oct. '06 for our anniversary -- providing dh is once again employed!!

Hang in there -- at least you have lots of notice and can plan ahead. Maybe your dh will find an even better job before they have a chance to lay him off!! Good luck!!
