I miss airplanes.

I live near a busy airport, so there's always big airplanes flying overhead to land.

But where I go to college, there are no busy airports, so there aren't any planes flying overhead. So it's really quiet. And I never realized how loud the airplanes are until I left my hometown. And I never realized how quiet my campus is without them until I came back to my hometown and I hear airplanes flying overhead every couple of minutes.

And I definitely miss watching the airplanes. I love sitting outside and watching them come in to land. It's definitely weird for me when I can't do that.

So what are somethings that you miss hearing or seeing or smelling whenever you leave your hometown for an extended period of time?

I live 5 minutes away from the airport. Airplanes have become comforting to me now.

I always miss...the feeling of keys under my fingers while typing.

Yes they are, but it's such a comforting sound to me, like Meg said.

I hate them when they are extremely loud...I have 2 airports extremely close. One which is a huge one and the other is sort of small but most of the time I dont notice them. But its got to be extremely loud for me to hear it.

Yeah, we have airplanes here alot. The airport isn't too far away AND there is also an airforce base here. So we the big booming ones too.

I have a fear of airplanes. I love watching them land though, what do you think we did all evening before we left for California?

We have an army base close to here, so it's always the really, incredibly loud military planes and helicopters going by.

Something I miss? Just the feel of home.

I live about 10 mintues away from a HUGE airport.
So I hear planes constantly going over my house, I've gotten so use to it though I don't even really pay attention to them.

I live about 10-15 minutes away from an airport. It's not HUGE compared to others, but I always see airplanes over my house, since they do the turn over my town.

I always miss my home and just my famaliar surroundings when I leave my area. I can't stay away longer then 6 days without family, because I begin to feel homesick.

Actually I get homesick if I'm away from my family for more than 2 days. hahah

Oh, I'd LOVE to have an airforce base near me!
There's one an hour or so away from me, so very rarely we'll see some kind of strange plane. I love military planes though.

Me too. I get homesick really easily, especially when I'm bored or there's nothing to do. That's when I really start thinking about home and I get really homesick
