I may lose my job but at least I have a PTR! Live update from POFQ

Oohhh! A raise would be nice wouldn't it. But, it sounds like something I would say after only a couple of hours on a Monday after being off for a week.

Yeah, just talked to him. No raise :headache: but I think I scared him over the weekend cause I was telling him about the outside walkways At POFQ and how we'd have to carry DS and stroller upstairs. He now wants elevators and air-conditioned hallways!

Do you like POR? It does have elevators on the Plantation side, not sure about the Bayou side. No air conditioned hallways though, but that is what I like about it. Walk out my door to the beautiful large trees. And I'm not that big of an outdoors person.

OK, Dh just went back to work after 1 weeks vacation. He just emailed me and all it said was "Upgrade to Wilderness Lodge in September!" :lmao:

He either got a raise or needs another vacation really really badly!

I told him not to question my ability to actually go ahead with the upgrade!

The Lodge is so awesome ...I really want to stay there sometime...its so rustic yet extreamly nice inside ...we had ADR's there at the Whispering Canyon had lots of food and great milkshakes.

Subbing for this trippie.

Hey, Hound, fancy meeting YOU here, LOL!

Ok. I'm at the shopping thing again! I went to Disney Shopping online and found a cute Mickey sweatshirt that I NEED! ;) I asked DH last night to buy it for me and he says "why do I have to buy you a sweatshirt, just order it if you want it." Really I only asked him because I didn't want him to be alarmed when he sees the box being delivered to our house! :rotfl: He gets so mad when he sees things being delivered! "What are you buying now?"

Well, another week and DH is still playing the upgrade game! We'll see but I think we're staying with POFQ. Next trip will be WL!

So I told you the story of wanting to buy things from disneyshopping.com. Well I didn't (yet!) but I did buy DH a new pots and pans set from Home Shopping. It's one of the Todd English "green pan" sets. (Yes, DH is s better cook than me so I let him do the cooking most of the time. Works out well for me ;) ) We've been needing new pans but said we'd wait for Christmas. Well the box comes and of course it's the one day DH gets home before me and he brings it inside. It's not maked at all so he has no idea where it came from. I get home and he tells me, "this feels heavier than a sweatshirt!" :confused3 DH thinks this is my sweatshirt from Dshopping and he has NO idea it's actually a gift for HIM! So I play along and ask him if he's mad cause I bought a few more things online. Then I open the box and ask him if he likes my new stuff!

Man was he surprised!!!! :thumbsup2 And I think I earned the good wife award and can safely order my sweatshirt now (and maybe a few other things ;) )

Well I was back on the phone with WDW today! This time it was the tour # and I booked the Epcot Segway around the world tour! :cool1: DH and I will be learning to Segway in September! I can't wait. I bet I won't stop laughing or screaming the entire time.

Now I just have to tell Grammy she has to watch the little Bug on that morning. She won't mind. They can swim or get breakfast (or sleep in!).

Great PTR! You sound just like me, I'm on the boards right now while at work! That's the best time to be on! :rotfl2:

I have my eye on matching shirts for Disney on disneyshopping.com, but I am a bargain hunter, so I keep waiting for that extra discount!!! I wish it would hurry up!! We have a disney outlet about an hour away (our regular disney store closed :sad2: ), so I may try there if a discount doesn't come soon!

Well, Tuesdays are my day off so what else am I supposed to do other than GO SHOPPING! :cool1:

Nothing too fancy here. Brady and I went to Walmart in search of some cheap but girly shirts for Grammy and I to create our t-shirts. I just didn't like the idea of walking around in a boxy men's t-shirt when it's 90+ degrees out. I like my clothes to fit!

Well, I found Grammy a nice plain pink tee for only $4! Then I found 2 tank tops for myself. 1 was $4 and one was $3. They were the same shirts just one was light pink and one kinda hot pink :confused3 . I bought them both anyway! I also found a plain white onesie for Brady for only $2! What a steal. That will be perfect for making a nice shirt for him!

Then I found something I just HAD to have...

sorry, taken with phone camera. But isn't it CUTE?? I haven't told DH yet but it was only $6!! It just HAD to be mine!

I almost bought the misting fan but got discouraged because it was $7 and I saw the 3 pack of the misting wand things at BJs for $15. Seems like a better deal and seems like my family would like those better. I already have the little fans so I don't really need another misting FAN. Maybe just the misters. Hopefully they still have them at BJs. I'll make sure to go tomorrow.

I also pulled out a whole bag of stuff from Brady's closet that I have been storing away. I found a Buzz lightyear beachtowel. (might just save that for next year!) Also, my WDW purse/backpack that I bought at POP last year and haven't used yet. I LOVE it! It will be perfect for bringing into the parks.

I've made out a list of all Brady stuff I will need to bring. I'm freaking out. It's A LOT. Plus I'm planning on going to Walmart for diapers and milk and snacks. I don't know how people travel with little ones younger than 1.5yrs. At least Brady can eat people food and I don't have to worry about that. I'm worried about our carryons. Dh will have a laptop and all the mags/books/dvd. I will have the diaper bag filled with all Brady's needs plus Brady's stuffed dog and my purse/bag. My Mom will hopefully bring a bigger suitcase type carryon for some more of our stuff that we couldn't fit in our checked luggage. Plus her personal item.

My question is will Jetblue allow me to bring the diaper bag as my personal item + a carryon item + Brady and his dog?? His dog is quite large but it's the only thing he's ever slept with. Would they separate a boy from his doggie??

Here's Brady and Grammy meeting Abe at a Flag Day ceremony in our mall! Too cute!

 Congrats!! We also have the Segway around the world tour booked. It looks like a blast!!

Well the 45 day mark has come and gone! I made the final payment last week and I feel great!!:thumbsup2

Other things happening:
*Ordered my stroller bag and ray shade from Target today. I got the JL Childress stroller bag as it had cup holders I want and zippered pockets and a bigger mesh bag for diapers and wipes and a change of clothes.
*My mom made a stoller cover for the plane out of an old grill cover :confused3 I asked her to make something and that's what she came up with. It really does work and the grill cover is extra thick so I don't think anything bad will happen to the stroller on the plane!
*I reserved our rental car. I ended up with a pretty good rate for a full size SUV at Alamo. $230 for the week includes having 2 drivers. I wasn't thrilled but I'm really worried about the space issue with suitcases and the stroller. I had a limit of $250 in my head so I ended up with $20 extra bucks. HHmmm, what to spend that on???
*My little itinerary book is coming along. I've been working on it here and there. I figure once Septmeber hits I'll go full swing with it. I've done all our ADRs, other places in the parks for CS meals. Our rental info and flight info. Small maps of the parks. Driving directions to Walmart and grocery store. I still need to do snack ideas for each park and touring plans. Good thing there's still 40 days!!

One thing I bought which DH is NOT happy about is a little backpack "leash" for DS. DS will NOT let us hold his hand. I've been trying to work on it but he's having none of it. So I bought the little dog backpack thing where the tail becomes the "handle" for the parent. I think it's a good idea and so does my mother. Brady likes the dog part and he'll snuggle with it but we haven't practiced walking with it yet. DH keeps telling me NO but I wanna see him running all over the parks and airports trying to keep Brady close! It's not like I want him to wear it all the time. I just want it as backup!

Gotta run to a meeting. (yeah, I'm working extra hours today! )
Can't believe it's almost time for me!!!

That last payment is such a good feeling!

I personally see nothing wrong with the "leashes". I hate to see kids sitting in strollers all day, or the parent fighting to keep them in the stroller. And then if your son is unwilling to hold your hand, why not a leash. I wish they would have had those little backpack leashes when mine was little. It is just a safety measure because it can get really crazy in a park. My son is almost 10 and I still make him hold my hand or at least hold on to me at times.

Thanks for the info. I'll pass this onto DH so he can see the importance! I just know that DS won't want to be stuck in the stroller all day. He's also at the fit throwing age so I'm sure making him do something he doesn't want to won't work!

They didn';t have those when my kids were little either - but they did have the little "handcuffs" - Mine was Mickey that was around his wrist with a long stretch cord (think telephone cord) It was a nice idea but not practical the way it was done - the cord was too long - and I had a heck of a time unwrapping him from the queue one time - he was crawling up, on and over while we were in line and since we were both attached we were getting very tangled. we didn't use it very much - besides - he could pretty much take it off at will!

I'm a little late, but I'm subbing!

Brady is so cute! You're going to have lots of fun. Are you still at the POFQ? That's my favorite of the places we've stayed so far (but I've never stayed at a deluxe). :confused3

I look forward to hearing more about your plans!

Glad you posted to mine-I never would have spotted yours!

We have more in common than our dates-our husbands have the same name!

Good PT, Brady is super cute!

Yes, we stuck with POFQ. I'm excited and really looking forward to staying there. I think it will be the perfect place for us with DS and Grammy coming along. Plus, way back when DH and I went to New Orleans and I'm excited to see POFQ and bring back those memories!:goodvibes (and the bengits!)

Glad you posted to mine-I never would have spotted yours!

Oh, another Patrick! Your DH must be a great guy! ;)

Maybe I'll spot you in the World!

Getting close now!!!!:thumbsup2

Well, September starts the begining of a crazy month for me. Of course ending with a much anticipated, year's worth of planning and well deserved WDW vacation! :goodvibes We have the begining of football season, specifically the Buffalo Bills (go Bills!) and Notre Dame Fighting Irish! My DH is a die-hard ND fan. Worked into our itinerary is Sat afternoon for DH at the ESPN club to watch his football! It was prerequisite before we got married that I learn all things college football and Notre Dame! :rotfl: I even sport my #10 jersey on game days and well you already know our son's name is Brady! (think Brady Quinn!) But really that's not who he's named after!

We have a family wedding in Boston the weekend of the 12th. SIL is getting married and we are catching a ride with my dad and step-mom. DH will be walking her down the aisle and DS might try to be the ring-bearer. We'll see how that works. I'm looking forward to spending the weekend in Boston. Should be so fun!

Then, the most fun part of the month! September 22 we fly out to WDW!!:cool1: Really getting nervous now about flying with DS and all the packing I have to do. I have a ton of stuff ready but we only have 1 week between Boston and Fl so I'll have to pack and unpack and repack within 1 week! We are getting a car in FL so if I don't get everything or forget something we can always run out to the store. Just hate to spend that extra $$.

Oh, and I should have our t-shirts made by the end of the week. DH is getting a special one since he will not wear anything matching or 'cutsie'. So Grammy, Brady and I will wear matching ones. Oh, and I think we're making cotumes for MNSSHP too. (even though I haven't totally decided if we're going yet.) I'll try to remember to post pics after everything's made.

Ready for September, Set, GO!!!
