I may have to go against my own park bag recommendations after today.

I've used a small crossbody bag on my Disney trips for a number of years now but I'm wondering if I'm at the point that I have to go in a different direction.

I used the same bag that I've liked taking to Disney for 3 years now at my County fair today.
I was only there for 5 hours and I noticed that while my shoulder didn't hurt I definitely curled my shoulders in towards my chest so now everything just feels tight.
Then I realized this is how I felt after the first day at Disney last year.

So now I am thinking I may have to go with a mini backpack so at least I could feel like I'm able to stand up more straight with equal weight on each shoulder or go the fanny pack/running belt route so nothing is on my shoulders at all.

They both have pros and cons though so now IDK what to do.

I really thought I had this park bag thing figured out and then my body went and got a little older lol.

I e had to switch from the small/mini backpack (used a crossbody for years) to a fanny pack (worn in the granny-style around my waist) as my back is in so much pain after the first day. By the end of an 9-10 day trip, my shoulders would have numbness and pain for the backpack. So far, no issues with the fanny pack. I’m lucky that my mom lets me put my heavy water bottle in her ECV basket 😁

When I retired, no longer had need for a purse big enough to carry my office so I ditched it and began researching another way.
Wound up having a bag custom made in a smaller size that I could use in any setting, day or night. It’s a wristlet that fits my IPad, IPhone, daily toiletries and wallet with dimensions of approximately 12”x 9”x 2”. It’s been to Splash Mountain, V and A, the streets of NY, wherever I need to go.

Now I’m mobility challenged and it nicely fits in the basket of my ECV or by my side in the chair.

I am with you-my crossbody bag was starting to bother my neck and shoulder. Switched to a backpack for our trip last week. It was sooo hot on my back - my back sweated all day. The backpack made my hips hurt. I think I will try a fanny pack next trip.

I use a Vera Bradley crossbody with wide straps draped in the front. I can’t wear a backpack due to neck/shoulders, but this works.

I have a Vera Bradley reactive mini crossbody bag that can convert to a belt bag. When my shoulders start feeling tense & sore I take out the strap extender & wear it as a belt bag. It has 3 compartments & holds my park essentials.

I have several Disney and non Disney VB crossbody bags and that is what my sister uses but for me I find that they get "stuck" on me because they are cotton. I even have the "performance twill" and I just don't like the feeling of the strap on me.

I may still end up with the bag I've been taking in the end because I've been testing out others and they are no better lol.
I think what may save me is that this one has 2 straps... a crossbody and a short one so I may just switch on and off because I always wear crossbody on my left shoulder and if I'm not wearing crossbody I wear on my right shoulder. Basically I like the purse to be on my right side haha.
So at least then I'm evening out the pain.

I use the VB mini sling back packs that convert to fanny packs when I need them to for rides. Regular fanny packs all day make my lower back hurt for some reason. I usually end up taking 2-3 different bags so that I can switch around during the trip if I need to, but they are all bags that lay flat and don't take up much room. I've never tried a loungefly type bag bc it seems like they'd be hot.

Until my last phone upgrade, I went bagless as much as possible using cargo capris with deep pockets to hold my necessities. My current phone is too big for the pockets to fasten, so I have to carry a small crossbody for that, but I can still mitigate the weight in the bag by carrying as many items in the pockets as I can.

I go bagless too - use cargo capris with leg pockets to fit the few things I have to carry into the park - my phone and ID and CC and AP…

I just switched from small backpack to crossbody I got a Vera Bradley that I used for my last trip in June, but I got the cotton hipster with 2 zippers, and it does not bother my back or shoulders, but I also do not stuff it I only bring my phone & small wallet.

Fanny pack best way they come in different sizes better if you do not carry much makes the difference

Wallet and keys. Phone stays in the car. Crazy all the huge back packs so many carry around.

Seriously - just go bagless! Cargo shorts, capris or pants will hold what you NEED!

I'm leaving Monday.
Don't have any of those...
I don't go bagless. I can't go bagless, I probably never will go bagless.
Way more trouble to try to find shorts with a pocket that will fit more than a chapstick in womens clothing and I'm not buying specialty clothes for vacation.

Macy’s Style & Co cargo capris - fits everything!

Thanks maybe I'll try that out if I go in a cooler time.
Shorts are a must for me when its 95F with a heat index of 105F 🙃
I’m more comfortable in capris than shorts in hot weather - but maybe that’s cause I’m old! 🤪
