....now I've lost interest!!! Has that happened to anyone else?
I swear,I was more stoked about my trip when my countdown was at 420 days out!!! My friend was wicked shocked at my total disinterest in my summer trip. Last June when I saw her(and had just made my ressies at AKL) I drove her nuts talking about WDW.
WHY IS THIS HAPPENING!!!!!! My SO asked me this morning if we were still going and why haven't I been talking about it?????
Maybe I've just been too wrapped up in dog training....

That is a dilema I don't ever expect to have! I'll GLADLY get away from the dogs now and then for a trip to WDW! We have reservations for January '04, and October '04 and just before our Jan. trip, I will be making ressies for December '04. Now I need to find a dog/kennel sitter for all those trips!

is fun, but the thoughts have dwindled becuase it is still so far out. Don't worry, the excitement will return as you get closer to your departure date!!!!

Keep the faith!

I don't think that would ever happen to me. Maybe you need to watch the Disney planning video to get in the Disney mood?:)

Sometimes that happens to me. Its hard to keep that HUGE level of excitement going for so long. It will come back as your date gets closer! Just concentrate on enjoying the holidays right now!

It happens to me too, although I plan about 3 months in advance. However, I WILL be going to WDW in Dec. of 2004, but will wait till June to Book!;)

It happend to me too. But once I hit the 90 day mark, the excitement came back.

...and watched my planning video and It did help get me to atleast think about WDW,but no where near as much as I was
into it last June. You guys are probably right, the closer I get to summer, the more I'll be back being obsessed!!!!

420 days is a long time to sustain peak excitement for anything. It's probably best that you're getting a little dip in the ecstacy.
Those last 60 days or so can be excruciating.

My countdown started at 900+ days!!! :worried: :faint: I think I was more agitated than excited about the trip, because it seemed as though the counter wasn't moving fast enough. Now that's it's in the 800s it's just moving right along!! :jumping1: :cool1:

I won't book my trip til May of 2005 though, because at that same time I will be working on plans for our vow renewal on our 15th wedding anniversary which we will be doing just one day before we leave for Disney. :groom: :bride: We will celebrate our actual anniversary on the 22nd of May, but will do the renewal on the 20th since it falls (the 20th on a Saturday).

So anyway, my excitement is there, but not as it could be when I hit the 60 or 90 day mark!! It's just fun knowing that the trip is coming and it's definitely something I'm looking forward to. I got my Disney Planning DVD last week and haven't watched it yet.....I'm waiting. I think I'm going to wait til 2004 before I watch it. I know it's only about 16 days away, but I have my reasons. ;)

We booked our March trip 10 months in advance (may 2002)...I was SO HYPED the first couple of months- I bought several guidebooks, mapped our trip all out, was constantly on the net checking Disney websites...then it got a little boring....so I chunked the time up by milestones...first we had to get thru Halloween, then Thanksgiving, then Christmas, then our anniversary (which is in Jan) then Valentines Day....we departed from our trip on 2/27, so after Valentine's we were almost there! And in those chunks of time I was able to make dining reservations and such and that made things a little more real--that our vacation was getting closer! Maybe that will help you too---kind of like losing weight- it's really discouraging to think "Oh, I've only lost 2 pounds and I have 40 to go!!" It's better psychologically to take it in 5 pound increments...same with counting down a trip to Mecca, I mean WDW....take it in increments. :teeth:

As weird as it sounds, that usually happens to me a week or two before my trip. After being excited for so long, I'm suddenly just not in the mood to go. That all goes away as soon as I'm at the airport, though!

I'm like that. Yaking away about something for ages and then I stop all together. It's like you reach a climatic point where you've exahausted the subject. It's ok though, when you're closer to the date of your trip, the excitement will return.

....I'm not the only one that this happens to!!! Thanks everyone for making me feel "normal"!!!!!
