Reading the posts about those that just came back form WDW last week about how crowded it was!!! I was SO excited taht it was gonna be dead when we're there next week....now I"m REALLY bummed! :scared:
Guess I need to work on an itinerary instead of just winging it.....

A little planning (and zagging) never hurts. But regardless of crowds, it is possible to have fun. Just use your head and tips from the DIS and you'll be fine. :wave2:

I was there last week, and although it was more crowded than I expected it to be, we still had a magical time. Remember:

1. You're on vacation! That, alone, is worth some smiles!

2. Have a general plan and try to stick to it...

3. Use common sense strategy - get to the parks early; utilize Fastpass; know the best time of day to ride certain rides.

4. If the crowds get to thick at one park, hop on a bus and get to another park! Or better yet, go back to the hotel and swim for awhile....!

5. Pray for rain...for some reason, a few sprinkles chases away the crowds like magic!

6. Relax, and have fun!!!! We had a great time, even with the crowds!!! :goodvibes

Don't get too discouraged! We were there last week, and, yes, it was busy, but the same old factors still apply. If you want to hit a lot of attractions, even when its busy, get there early in the morning. MK was a zoo last week, but NOT the first two to three hours each day. Go early and hop out of the busy parks, and you really minimize the crowd impact. Honestly, our biggest problem with the crowds was the POR bus service, not the parks.

We got back yesterday from our first time, to us it was somewhat crowded at MK. Epcot not so much. I had printed out some itineraries but we really didn't follow them. We didn't hit some of the headliners since our girls are little, the only FastPass we used was for Philharmagic. Saturday morning we ran for Dumbo and got on the first round. Then we did several rides in quick succession with 0-5 minute waits, including Splash Mountain and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. But by noon we were in Tomorrowland and it was packed. We didn't do anything over there and didn't get in very many rides the rest of the afternoon.

I'm hoping one of the real reasons it was so busy last week was it was spring break for the Northeast. Hopefully it still won't be as busy as you fear. BTW, I'm fearing the same things.

Don't forget that many major school districts were on spring break last week as well. Spring breaks are over now so your week should have fewer people. :flower:

Myst

The only place that was really busy last week was MK. Except for TT, ToT, RnR, most everything else was minimal wait time (<10minutes). As the week went on the crowds lessened.

I think the world will be busy from now on since the 50yr. celebration is about here. I have been there many times when it is crowded and it never
spoils the fun. It is all so magical. Don't worry, be happy!! You are going
to love every minute of every day even if it is crowded!! MK is always the busiest park no matter what time of year. Have a Terrific time!!

yea... I am anxious to see crowds the next 2 weeks since spring breaks are now over

With the extensive, professional, expertise training and preparation you have received from DIS you will be fine....just practice a little defensive walking and stroller weaving :earsgirl:

Have a great trip!

I'm going next week too (Seven more days to go! ) and with all the speculation and guessing, at this point, I'm just dying to see what the crowds are really going to be like! Of course I'm hoping for light crowds, but will be happy if it's just not "packed."

I think the Northeastern spring breaks in the end of April this year really effected the crowds these past few weeks and even with the Celebration the first half of May isn't going to be as bad as some of the scary predictions I've heard. Could be just wishful thinking on my part, but I'm still choosing to be optomistic. :goodvibes

We will be leaving on Sunday. After all I have been reading about the crowd levels, I am just hoping for the best. Either way, im sure we will have fun. :goodvibes

Oh I wish we were going to be there next week! Instead DS18 and I will be going for 8 nights through the 4th of July week! I'm guessing that will be a little more crowded! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: And we plan on having fun anyway! :cool1: :cool1:

It can be frustrating but just take it with a grain of salt. Some of the parks are more naturally crowded, if you have a plan to get in and ride what you want and get out, you should be fine. Unfortunately, DH and I found Magic Kingdom too crowded to be fun. We went back to the hotel, ordered dinner and hung out by the jacuzzi instead though which was a great time. There are always other things to do, whatever you do, have fun!

You and I are in the same vote, We leave on Saturday, and for the last few days I have been worrying more and more about the crowds... My kids are little and thats why we chose this time of year to go. I can only pray that what these other people are saying is correct. That the spring breaks are over and next week will be better. :flower: :flower: :flower:
