I love my DVC because...

Since there are so many gloom-and-doom threads on the boards lately with the Comcast thing, the what-did-DVC-do-wrong-at-X-resort thing, I think we need a little uplifting here. So I will start.

I love my DVC because I can go to WDW for the next 38 years! I love BCV because it's near Epcot and the Boardwalk, but my room is quiet when I need to crash after experiencing all the magic.

I love DVC and OKW because I can travel to WDW, stay in a better than deluxe resort as often as I want without laying out thousands for each additional trip. I also love that it "feels" like home, and that I can share it with friends and family.

I love my DVC because I now stay at the Deluxe resorts instead of the value or moderate I had always stayed in prior to my DVC purchase. I love having the great views we have had (Boardwalk, Swan/ Dolphin, Epcot) from my balcony! I love the pools with great slides and the wonderful hot tubs. I love having the extra room of a one or two bedroom on all of our trips!

DVC was a dream of mine for many years. We were finally able to afford it in 2000 and now are the prowd owners of BWV and the BCV!

SSR being across the lake from DD. Having two young boys and travelling alone I probably will not make it to Pleasure Island etc but if I am lucky enough to get a room over looking the bay I can soak up the atmosphere without leaving my room whilst sipping a glass of Chardonnay.

I love my OKW, it is a quiet, restful world unto itself within the hustle and bustle of a wonderful vacation destination. I love having the option of Olivia's for breakfast, or just relaxing with coffee out on the balcony.

And let's not forget our CMs, they are absolutely the BEST!!!!!

Pride. It feels good to own something (or in this case someplace) that we really enjoy. My wife and I have always been huge Disney fans, and owning points kind of represents our passion for Disney.
Also, all of the above reasons!

I love my DVC because it allows us to have a choice in rooms, length of stay and allows us to stay in deluxe resorts. I love it because we know we will be going to WDW/vacations every year. Even though nowhere is 100% safe, I love it because I can relax and feel safe while my two oldest can go about their way with more freedom and are now inviting a friend or two to make them more happy. They are happy - I am happy. I love it because I can treat family and friends. I love it because you don't have to grow up when spending time in Disney, there is always something to do and something new. You can do everything and you can do nothing. I love it because it has allowed us to cruise twice already on the Magic and looking to cruise again. When people ask me about the maintenance fees, I tell them - I don't smoke, I don't drink and I don't gamble. This is my habit and a treat to us.

Maistre Gracey, if it's corny, so be it-the pride is one of the reasons for me too.
But the main reason why I love DVC is because of what it's done to DH. Although I loved Disney even before, he was "Disney-tolerant" and also "Vacation-tolerant". OK, the fact was he was a workaholic who never took vacations unless I really nagged. Now he looks forward to HH, actually said "I'll get to OKW in May if I have to walk there!", and has a whole new attitude about vacations. And he relaxes and has fun. Yeah, he plays alot of golf, but he wouldn't even vacation for that before. And he loves to spend time just lying around the pool or sitting on the balcony. DVC made us relax and smell the roses!

I love my DVC because...

The memories I will always have of my daughter growing up Disney style. Each trip is tearful and the enjoyment we share when we are in the "magic" is priceless.
It really has an effect on your feelings....pride, happiness, relaxing, family time and most importantly the Dole whips......
ok not most importantly but I was getting a bit mushy so I didn't want any tears.

I love my DVC because of the travel opportunities it provides, travel that I might not otherwise be able to afford. I love belonging to the special 'family' that are the DVC members. I love DVC because I have always wanted to be a part of it and it was my g/f who decided we should take the tour on the spur of the moment, so I guess I love her too!

I have a home at WDW not just a hotel room.

I love Boardwalk (our home) because I can walk to Epcot and MGM.

I love my DVC because...my DH and I are new owners at SSR. I love the idea of making memories with my 9 month old grandson and knowing that this will be his someday. He'll have 50 years to enjoy it and maybe, some day, take his own grandson and make memories with him! I just think it's such a cool concept!

I love DVC because we now enjoy our vacations and our family time so much more. We do not feel the need to run from park to park from open to close. We take our time, we stroll around taking in the atmosphere, if we want to visit with the characters or just watch people go by we can.

We would never be able to stay at those resorts if we did not have DVC. On our honeymoon the Boardwalk had just opened and my DH and I were spending some time watching football at the ESPN Club and afterwards we were strolling the Boardwalk area and video taping some of it. He says "someday babe, someday...maybe we can stay here" Well, our someday was 2 years ago when we stayed there for the first time. Its our favorite spot in all of WDW and we love calling it one of our homes (although we do not have any of our points there )

I love that my son is so excited about staying at the resorts. He is not old enough to ask to stand in every line yet, we know it will be coming at some point, so for now we just take as much time enjoying the resorts as we can! LOL

I love DVC because it makes my DH take a vacation once a year. It makes us relax and savor every single moment. It allows me to enjoy the first Disney moments w/ my dear children that I enjoyed as a little girl. It's a nice quiet home in the middle of all the magic happenings. It assures me that I will be back soon and to save some things for our next trip home. I love DVC for the feeling it gives me every time I think about it!

I love my DVC because I get to visit WDW twice a year instead of every 2 or 3 years. I love that I get to choose between the BWV, BCV, OKW, VWL, VB, and HH and that's just the start of the choices. I love hearing "Welcome Home" when we pull in the gate and check in and most of all I love feeling at home in the middle of my most magical place WDW.
