I love my dad!

(Haha, I bet you thought this was another random thread).

We originally were going to cancel our Disney trip b/c his chemotherapy schedule changed and didn't work with our dates.

When I came home for Easter, he told me to call Disney back, and after 4 phone calls to CRO and playing around with the dates, we were able to re-book for June 15-20th!!!

So I spent Saturday rebooking all of our ADRs, rewriting our touring plans, and shopping on the Disney store!

Bonus- today my dad took me to Sam's Club and we bought $300 more in Disney gift cards with the bonus cards, so I get to make another order on the Disney Store website!

Just had to share my excitement that Cancer Trip is a go again!

Now this was an appropriate I love thread for this board and a double wahooo that you were able to get your trip going.
Will your dad be going with you guys? If so, be sure to stop and get one of those buttons that states what you are celebrating.. you are celebrating
LIFE, LOVE and FAMILY and have them print it on that button for each member of your family!!!! have a safe and magical trip!!!

ps... glad things are going good for your dad, enjoy him while you can, I lost my mom to cancer 2 and a half years ago. I had to cancel Disney and Universal trips over the years due to the chemo, surgeries etc.. the last one we had to cancel was Universal's HHN trip. We were having my mom's funeral service the weekend we (my family & my sister's family) had planned on going to HHN. Universal was great, they refunded my sister the money on the tickets too. I hadn't purchased mine yet, I had that "funny feeling".

-I've flagged all of our ADRs for Birthday (Dad's!) and Personal Triumph. I had a friend get us the buttons on her last trip and my friend who does calligraphy for a living is writing "Cancer-Free Vacation" on the I'm celebrating buttons.

-I bought matching Ear Hats for all of us

-I'm making matching T-shirts for us

-A couple of wonderful Disers sent my dad postcards from "Mickey and the Gang" over the last few weeks

- I sent dad a 2 foot tall "Get Well" card from Mickey

-I set up one of those phone calls from Mickey through the Disney site, and it called him the morning of his Chemo to wish him luck on his big day.

I'm WAY too excited!

That is terrific news!! Too many of us have seen our loved ones deal with Chemo and to know that you have this trip to look forward to is a great thing for morale! I am sending your dad, you and your entire family good vibes and much strength And DO tell us all about your trip when you get back!!

Best wishes to you and your dad! My mom just went through chemo and it's not as bad as I thought it'd be (of course I wasn't the one going through it) and i've been taking care of her. I can't wait to go on vacation with her, although she's not in the Disney mood anymore (too much walking and not enough rides.) Hopefully she'll go again one day and watch her grand daughters with that magic in their eyes.
