What a great show. Last night wasn't my favorite episode but with that said, the cast is just so good and the scenes so well acted.

Although what was with "Kevin's" hair? Looked a little like a Chia pet on steroids.

:lmao:

I think Scotty and Kevin's situation is common. I know Tim and I had a long "thinking" period before we decided to move forward with adoption.

I am completely off my groove.

Forgot to watch Grey's on Thursday, forgot to watch Deperate Housewives last night, and by the time I realized I missed Housewives I had also missed half of Brothers & Sisters! :headache:

I did like the half I caught. And you are right, Kevin looks funny. It is partly his hair, and I think he has gained weight. He actually resembles the guy who plays Tommy much more now!

I hope they do decide to go through with the baby. Unless they somehow end up with Kitty's baby. :rolleyes1

I should SO be watching that show...I've been inlove with Rob Lowe since I was 17...the man is PERFECT to look at and keeps getting better looking as he gets older!!

I'm actually kind of peeved that they've hopped on the baby train.

I think Modern Family's couple is great. It works really well for them.

But can someone tell ABC that not every gay couple wants to be parents?

Kevin and Scotty haven't mentioned wanting kids of their own before and now all of a sudden, they're dying for children?

I'd like to see them focus on his relationship with his niece/biological daughter now that Tommy has seemingly abandoned her and her mother more than the adoption storyline.

No offense to Timrobb. I think it's awesome that you've got your little girl, and are a happy family. It just seems to me that there are a lot more gay couples who don't have or want kids, than those that do. And ABC now has three gay couples on prime time shows, and one is parents, one is trying to hire a surrogate, and the other is comic relief for Wisteria Lane. It seems like a disproportionally large percentage of gay dads, to me.

I'm afraid that it's going to be a trendy storyline. Much like simply having a character come out used to be "edgy" and a "very special episode".

He is gorgeous, isn't he? He has aged well.

It's funny, I was telling DS about Grant Alexander from Guiding Light. I watched that show when I was 12. I was SO in love with Phillip Spaulding. :cloud9: So last week when they were talking about the show ending there was a clip of him and he has not aged a day. It's freaky/scary. In 27 years the boy has not aged. Or maybe he has, and I just can't see it since I have aged, too.

Rob...they did 'mention' it (and that was all it was) when he found out his neice was his bio daughter. He started to get the baby feeling then, but you are right, after that it was not mentioned again.

My guess is the writers don't know where else to go with their storyline to create the drama the other family members have. I would like to see them just be, but it is tv. I see this going 1 of 2 ways...they get a baby or they brake up because Scotty doesn't want to have a baby. Either way it will add the drama the show requires.

There are a LOT of ways they could add drama. One of them could lose thier job. The traffic accident they teased last night and never delivered is another way. Nora could try and hire Scotty away from his restaurant to work for a catering company that she wants to start to work with her charity functions, one of them could start drinking heavily, they could try and introduce Saul to gay culture in L.A. . . . . There are ALL kinds of storylines they could have. But this one seems like the easy, trendy one, to me.

I love the show and was happy to see it back. It's funny, half way through I looked over to Steven and said, "Were they always this selfish and whiney last year?" He's like, "Um, yes you just forgot".

I agree with you about the baby angle. Felt as if they ran out storylines to do with them two. I'm all happy for gay couples to have kids and/or adopt. It's just not for me. I live vicariously through my friends and relatives. That's enough for me.

Even this weekend while unpacking at our house, someone commented about the extra room being turned into a nursery some day. We both cringed and Steven's Mom chimmed in and said, "OH No! Not these two guys!".

We had to laugh. We have a hard enough time raising ourselves and Max our dog.

Rob - no offense taken. Children aren't for everybody (gay or straight). Tim and I were together 9 years before we even thought of adopting a child. It started out as a casual comment, then many fights, lots of self-evaluation, and ended up with us adopting our daughter. If you would have asked me 5 years ago if we would be parents - the answer would be NO - lol. But of course now we couldn't imagine life any other way. We also feel that not everybody wants kids and we are okay with that. You will never hear us tell any couple (regardless of orientation) they HAVE TO HAVE a kid. It just isn't for everybody.

When I stated that Scotty and Kevin's situation is common - I meant common for ANYBODY that is thinking of having a child.

I totally agree that they are moving way to fast with the story. I really think it IS NOT going to happen. I think they are using the baby to cause tension between the two. I think that we will end up seeing the two of them have many ups and probably more downs (can they bring back the gay priest please - LOL!) before a decision is reached.

Forgot to mention - Rob Lowe is HEAVEN.

Every year that passes, he gets HOTTER - the man is perfect!

Isn't it funny how some just don't seem to age? Remember Luke on GH? He still looks great too. I was inlove with Scotty Baldwin on GH!

Soap opera men must have a lot of work done on their faces.

I was flipping channels the other day and saw Adam Chandler and he still looks precisely the same as he did 15 years ago.

I don't watch any daytime sops now, but I remember some of the characters from the ones I used to watch.

I got dragged to Super Soap last year, and all I can say is Tad Martin looks pretty darn good in person! :thumbsup2

Tad, WOW does that bring back the 80's memories...I LOVED him as well! He has that boyish charm thing, really works for him!;)

Is that Tad of Tad and Dixie? Which of course he wouldn't be with her anymore, because it's a soap opera.

Do you think he looks that good just BECAUSE? Or do you think he has had a little boost?
