We just returned from our first visit to Disneyland. It was awesome!!! We've been to WDW twice and we love it. Disneyland has a different atmosphere and the people are so much nicer! My DD's don't want to go to WDW anymore, they want to go to Disneyland. The only thing that would keep us from not going back is the plane flight (we're from the East coast) - Oh and the traffic!
We were there 11/8 - 11/10. No crowds at all. The longest we waited in line was 20 minutes for Toy Story and that was my fault - I had just sat for about 1/2 an hour so the others could ride Screaming 4X in a row and I wanted to ride something!
Any questions?
Have a great day!

So glad you enjoyed DL, it's my favorite as well. I love WDW as well, but there is something special about the original.

So glad you had fun! :goodvibes It is the cost of flying back east that keeps us from going to WDW.

Where did you stay?

Glad you had a good trip. We enjoyed our trip last week, too. It didn't make me a DL fan over WDW, though. I think we lucked out on our trip dates w/ the no lines but the longest we waited for anything was 20min standby for Nemo. The thing I liked best about DL vs. WDW was Haunted Mansion Holiday. That was very cool. And if we ever go back to DL, I'm making ADRs at that restaurant overlooking POTC. That was also really neat.

Where did you guys stay again longneck? We were at Staybridge Suites at I-5 and Katella (on Manchester).:thumbsup2

Did you guys go anywhere besides Disney while in California? I have to say, I just loved California. I didn't like DL as much as WDW but I liked California better than Florida.

My two youngest daughters won't get on the plane to go to WDW, so we drive to DLR. Besides that it is more expensive for the 6 of us.

It's nice and refreshing to hear WDW vets going to DL and having an incredible time. The two are hard to compare, but it's easy to do so. I just tell people, like you said, that they are two totally different places and experiences. We live half way between both parks and go to DL almost exclusively. WDW is a once every 3 year trip for us.

Glad you had such a great time.

 (man I love that banana). So glad you enjoyed it there. We have always loved trips out there. People have always been really nice and really accomodating when I have been injured. I have yet to have a single bad experience while in Disneyland or any of the outside areas around that area.

Thankful you guys enjoyed it so much! Thanks for sharing, it made me smile.

Glad to hear you had a great time! :) DH and I live in TX and we also prefer DL over WDW. We like the atmosphere and, well darnit, everything about it!

You can't compare DL and WDW and use one as the benchmark. They are both equally good but each has a different feel to it. It's like arguing what color is better - red or blue. Each is special in its own way, so favoritism can't be assumed until the other is experienced.

:cool1: Ohhh, I am soooo glad you loved DL!!! :cool1: Come back soon!!! ::yes::

So glad to hear that you enjoyed DLR! I think it's the best place on the planet!

We're planning our trip to WDW and I have to keep telling myself not to compare the two!

BTW - glad to hear that people were nice here. As a Californian (and DL has a lot of locals in the park), it's nice to hear that my fellow statesmen were kind. I happen to think we're a very friendly group :goodvibes

Californians are great, but I thought the people in WDW were very friendly. We had so many conversations with different people, and were even given their addresses and phone numbers for future contact! Glad to hear you loved it!

I've been saying that on the WDW boards for a long time, nobody believes me until they actually experience it for themselves. So glad to hear you had a great time at Walt's Park.

My family and I are going to WDW in 3 weeks, and yet I find myself on the DL boards this morning. After our upcoming WDW trip I can finally start planning for our next DL trip. I don't think I will ever go to WDW again after this year, it simply cannot compare to what DL has to offer.

One month from today we'll board a plane for Florida to visit WDW. We've planned this trip because our three children want to visit Florida again, but secretly, I'd rather be heading down the coast to Disneyland. WDW is BIG and nice and the weather is certainly a welcome break from the rain we get all winter long in Washington, but I'd rather just cozy up at the Grand Californian and play all day in CA Adventure or in Disneyland.

We'll have a great time, because we always do, but I'll miss being at Disneyland the week before Christmas.

Just to follow-up on my previous post, it's official, my family and I are back from 10 days at WDW and I have decided that was my last visit to WDW. Even though my sister in law gives us her timeshare in Orlando, I'd rather pay for a room and go to DL than stay at the Hilton for free and go to WDW. And for someone as cheap as me that's saying something. LOL.

I'm going to try and wait for the 2012 DCA renovations to complete before returning, but I'm probably kidding myself and cannot wait that long.

:goodvibes
