I went with the 40k $250 dummy booking offer (hoping to get an addl 20k pts from a match). I guess it comes down to what’s important to you.

DS gets lots from us. He doesn’t get allowance but takes out Grandma’s garbage every week for which she pays well (better than I ever got lol) So he saves his money (plus a GC from Christmas) for vacation. However our rule is 1/2 his money is to spend, 1/4 to donate and 1/4 to savings. He recently donated $50 to the dog rescue we got our new puppy from. First on his list of purchases..Vanellope sundae. Then stuffies.

That's a great idea for him to split his money up like that!

Illuminations is going away completely at the end of the summer. A temporary show will come in then with the permanent replacement in 2020 I believe. Fantastic isn’t going anywhere.

Ah okay. I didn't know if they were just editing the show or changing it completely. We personally thought Illuminations was rather boring so I hope the new show is a little more exciting. The only night time show we make an effort to watch is HEA

You begin to book a flight on AA.com (or if we were talking about another airline or hotel, start booking on their site). You don’t actually intend to book the flight (hence “dummy booking”) but while in the process of booking you see an offer for a credit card. In this instance when you click on it you can also further click to a biz card offer (it will probably default to personal). You can apply for the card there and don’t actually need to complete the flight purchase or anything of that nature

I can change my Jan trip to deluxe if I do a 2/2 split...2 nights at BC $300/night and 2 nights AKL at $146/night. Not sure how I feel about the split stay for a short trip. Our resort change would fall on DD19s DCP check in day. If I did it, I'd probably rent a car (on points). That would make it easier to switch. I am unsure if I am renting a car otherwise...mostly due to the new parking fees. I'm not sure if we need it or not.

Alternatively, I can stick with my 4 nights at CBR in a water view 5th sleeper room.

The price for either option is comparable. I am just awful with making decisions.

ETA: Hmmmn, or I could do CBR for the 1st 2 nights (190/nt) and AKL the last 2 nights at $146/nt. DD3 will be along and sure would like the animals.

Personally if I were in your shoes, I wouldn't do the 2/2 split. Those are such short stays that it would be hard for me to pack up and leave right away. I think you'll still have a great time at CBR.

Now that you mentioned PL has Disney hotels back up I have to go check for my dates, too!

ETA: I realized all of our plans for the first 3 nights center around Epcot and Yacht Club so we might not change that one.

What is your dd's arrival day? My dd has been following everyone posting on FB where they got placed (for kids who checked in yesterday).

I have been following this thread for how long and I am still running into acronyms I don't know. What the heck is PL?

Okay now I need some help lol. We were really excited for a CL stay at YC, but we could stay at OKW in a 1 br villa for about $300 less. Idk if the proximity to Epcot and the lounge is worth that $300.

We could also do the cabins at FW for $600 less or Wilderness lodge (woods view) for $422 less.

I am very pro split-stay! I've done a 3 night trip with a 2/1 split (BC/CR). If I can walk to a park sign me up!

What do your plans look like? I would personally like BC over CBR. The boats/walking are more enjoyable than busses IMO.
