I love credit cards so much!

Holy almost churning fail! I got the CIC back at the end of October. By end of November I had racked up $2700 of charges on the card. Then I completely forgot about it! DH got the Amex Plat Biz around then, so all spend has been going there (other than some dumb stuff like me using my CSR out of habit on some large-ish charges). Oy. I was just thinking it might be time for a new card when I realized the bonus on the CIC hadn't actually posted. Glad I caught it - I have about 2 weeks to catch up.

I have had a lot going on (some difficult family health stuff, the holidays, busy time at work), but that's a pretty big miss for me!

Need to fax or email driver's license and SSN to Ally to open bank account. What do people feel is safer - faxing or emailing? Truth be told I think I've been in almost every breach out there so the info is probably floating in the ether anyway. But I want to be somewhat responsible. Maybe even transmit in two separate transactions instead of both together.

I am looking to buy 3 Disneyworld 7 Day PH Tickets (DH is unsure if he is going yet so just buying for the kids and I). Don't need until July but figured I would buy in advance in case of any price increase. I have about $700 on both mine and DH's Barclaycard Arrival +. If possible I would like to buy all 3 tickets together (around $1500) and split the payment on 2 Credit Cards. Does anyone know of anyone that can do that? I called Undercover Tourist as that is who I normally buy from and they can only use 1 form of payment. If all else - I will have to put 2 tickets on one order and 1 on the order. Was just trying to use up all the funds at once.

I think fax is safer. Case in point - the IRS will fax you your tax records but will not e-mail them.

Not exactly a MK resort, but we love the burgers at Geyser Point at WL. The seating area is outside, so just make sure it is a nice day. We have eaten at Trattoria Al Forno several times and thought it was good and reasonably priced for Disney. We also love the ice cream flight at Ample Hills on the Boardwalk.

Enjoy!!
Everyone has mentioned ample hills so I think we will make sure we get ice cream there. Thanks!

This is for future reference for anyone. I just had a bizarre situation with Chase. I tried to transfer my husband's UR points to
my account online. Last time i did this was 2 years ago. I kept getting unexpected error after putting info in. Basically from
his freedom to my Reserve. Refreshing...deleting cache ..nothing helped. Finally I called Chase and she said the system was not
allowing it all and she could not figure it out . Actually said maybe the rules have changed. I then spoke with supervisor who basically
said same thing. Panicking i looked for posts on internet and didnt see any info about changes.

I finally saw something on Flyertalk where someone said they had same issue and said it was because of browser. I switched to
explorer and VOILA points transferred instantly. I couldn't do it on Chrome or Firefox. Why Chase would tell me that is beyond me.:worried:

Wow, good catch! This is part of why I'm liking a 'one at a time' approach we're taking this year. I'm restraining myself to only applying when we're about two weeks out from making spend so that the next one doesn't show up too soon and we get distracted :)

Anyone know how Chase comes up with their date (3 mos/90 days) that you have to meet msr? Sometimes it seems it's been past 90 days or so.

I think it's 115 days from approval. You can SM for the exact date. My experience:

I SM'd Chase to ask how long I had for my CIP MSR. Applied 10/1, went to approved 10/8, came in the mail on 10/15. They told me January 31st. I guess that's 115 days from approval? I thought it was application date.

Amex SPG business card question: My one year anniversay is coming up on having this card. From what I understand, I get an award night after I pay the renewal 95 fee (or is it 99?), that cannot be used for Swan/Dolphin, right? I am not interested in staying at any other hotels other than those 2 and the Disney branded hotels. So I should cancel the card and save the 95 bucks? I think I can now apply and get rewards from credit card since I am out of the 5/24 restrictions as of a couple of months ago. Which other credit cards should I go for that would maximize points for staying at the swan or dolphin? I read some about it but thought some people here might have advice too. I think my family would be able to spend 5,000 in 3 months, though I may have to do a bit of manufactured spending (not much if any). I am not good at this credit card thing so any advice would be great! TIA!

You like steak? Lol the Yatchsman is my favorite but I don’t go that much since it can be annoying to get back to our resort after. We are doing the yatch club in June and we are finally going back to Yatchsman.

Beaches and cream too. I love the chocolate lovers kitchen sink but if you don’t want that much ice cream we love going to ample hills at the boardwalk.
We love the little lounge next to Yachtman...Crew Cup I think it is called. Get a good meal (usually share a couple diff apps) without an ADR. It is a best kept secret. Ssshhh. I hate ADRs, so anytime I can sit down and have a meal at my leisure I am happy.

At this point I assume all faxes are really emails unless it's an old institution. A good many large companies use fax to email services as it's more cost effective than keeping machines around. (At my husband's company there isn't a fax machine in the building.) You could ask Ally what they use if you think it'll make a difference. I'd only be concerned with email on my side, as in which email provider I send the email from as the attachment will reside in their server for a time. On that aspect fax might have a leg up, but on the receiving end I assume it's being reviewed electronically some how.

And here's my grain of salt - I've emailed my DL to some AmEx call center dudes in India to get my name changed on my corporate card. Sometimes you do what you have to do. I already know most of my info has been compromised and I'm just waiting for the time bomb to go off so that might cloud my judgement a little :)

This is a great thread...just found it an have spent the last couple of days skimming through it. I only started churning last year (got 2 Chase SW personal cards when it was still allowed and the CSR). But then kind of got lax about it all and didn't look into applying for anything else until lately. The whole reason I'm looking into churning again is cuz I just spent a boatload of money in Nov./Dec. and realized it would have been more than enough to hit a minimum spend on a new card, if not two - I'm sure that makes you expert churners cringe at the thought!

So now I just got the Chase Hyatt card cuz I have a Disney trip lined up where I want to get the dining plan and I have DVC dues to pay. Does anyone know if it's okay to use the Chase card to buy Disney gift cards at Sam's club in order to make the MSR? I wanted to use the discounted Disney gc's for the dining plan and DVC dues to save some money, but wasn't sure if Chase cared about buying gift cards to meet minimum spend. I think I read somewhere that Amex does and would claw back bonus points in those cases? If that would be the case with Chase, I would just charge the dining plan & dues on the card.

One thing that sticks out to me as a point of vulnerability is my in air Chase SW app on Dec 3. Maybe its just coincidental that the first breach was my Chase CSR card 30 days later, but a credit card app over an unfamiliar WiFi sure seems iffy but I don't know how this all works. Obviously I would make a horrible criminal. Lol
My dad has always told me to never use hotel wifi etc for anything important...just to stream a show or something. So I think you could be onto something here.

ETA: he is a computer guy

Since it's a last minute trip I wasn't able to get the Storybook Dining at Artist Point, but I put in a Touring Plans reservation finder. We will need a backup though in case we don't get it. Anyone have any reasonably priced options for dinner at the MK resorts? We've done Ohana before.
Grand Floridian Cafe or The Wave. I've not actually had dinner at the wave, but breakfast was very good, so it is likely a good bet.

ETA: oh yes, I agree with wendow about Kona too!
