I love credit cards so much!

How long ago were you approved? If I remember correctly you have to wait a day or so to be able to create an online account. I did it the same as you tried about 2 days after approval since I created my own PIN and it worked. Otherwise have to wait for the debit/PIN to arrive.

Yesterday morning. Sounds like I should just wait until I receive the debit card to arrive so I don't cause any problems!

Need credit card suggestion for our college daughter. She is in an organization that requires fairly substantial spend that is reimbursed. I suggested she might want to sign up for a better earning card and to keep the expenses separate. She has had a Wells Fargo student card for about 18 months with a good credit score. She has also been a AU on one of my cards for years. I am leaning to a CFU. Credit Karma shows she is preapproved for a Blue Cash Everyday. Any other thoughts?
My college aged dd got the Discover IT a few days after she turned 18yo and then about 6 mos later for the CFU. I think the first year double cash back on the Discover is awesome and she has taken advantage of that but I was anxious to get her into Chase as well. She app'ed on the $200 credit back after $500 spend offer so she will just use it for part of her tuition bill and then sock-drawer it until she's done with her first Discover year.

Regarding the AmEx Biz Gold waived AF from support links - AmEx may have fixed the glitch. Reports starting to come in that approved applications this afternoon are showing the AF in the agreement. Something to follow if you were considering - https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/adgors/discussion_thread_january_07_2019/edi3l1r/

ETA: DoC is calling it too - https://www.doctorofcredit.com/amex-business-gold-295-annual-fee-waived-first-year/
I'm seeing possibly only 3 DP's, one comment on DoC is the same poster from Reddit, but I'd only chance it if you were ok with paying the fee anyway.

Wow, that was quick; that's a bummer. Thanks for the followup on that. I was going to be ok with the gamble on the AF, but I will say I was so relieved when I looked at my card agreement and it was $0.

I keep anticipating that I'll get a popup. I've gotten 5 biz and 1 personal Amex in the past 12 months. But, I've also had the SPG for 7 yrs and been AU on a BCP (previously OBC and recently downgraded to BCE) for 17? yrs so I wonder if that longevity and spending have kept me from getting a popup so far.

Does anybody else enjoy watching their SW flight price go up and down I'm guessing you do @amalone1013 :P I'm glad I struck earlier today on the $115 price as it's back up to $142 and showing only "3 left at that price". I'd love to see the innerworkings of flight pricing. It's gotta be fascinating to know the computer models that are driving these prices up and down daily less than 3 weeks from the flight!

I check ours a few times a day......along with the car rentals and hotels I’ve booked with URs DH thinks I’m crazy lol

Just caught up. Today was especially dramatic day guys!

@tink1970 congrats on the BBP. I told DH I would slow down now on new credit cards. But I don't have a minimum spend. Yes. I am already getting antsy.

@DisneyMandC I am so sorry about the pop up. I got it on DH's account last month. Completely derailed my plans. It is especially frustrating after you think it all through and then get that. What is frustrating for me and his pop up is that we have spent a ton on his Amex accounts. He only has 3 but not even as MSR we put new garage doors on his SPG and that was $6000 alone. It is awful.

@GlamMistress congrats on getting a contract accepted. Fingers crossed for you it goes through. I am a little tempted to get another one. Pretty sure my husband would want to divorce me though.

@wendow your thoughts of Tokyo Disneyland have got me thinking too. How cool would that be to get your family there! I ran flights on Delta and they were not crazy miles wise (of course that is just normal economy and not fancy). But if I was flying 5 that is all I would do. What airport are you looking at flying into?

On the Business Green news of a revamped version...I do not have that card yet. Is it one that I should maybe get now? Or would it be better to wait and see? I self referred myself to the personal gold and the points posted within a day or two. I don't know what the calculation is on the pop up but I think the self referral is not really a factor or at least not a big factor.

It sounds like a glitch that they showed up on personal cards last time.

I really should get in the habit of checking daily!

It must have been. I'm just glad we have one card that has the offers now.

My DD is in college. She was an AU on our cards and also has had a Visa from our credit union for a couple of years. Last week she applied for the CFU ($200 back after a $500 spend offer) and was approved. Still waiting for the card to arrive, but this seems to be the one that is targeted to this age group.

Wouldn't it be so cool!?! I never would have even thought I would have enough points for this but since I've been mostly earning points but not really spending any, I actually think I can do this! We would be flying economy too, of course!!

I have looked at two airports but since I haven't had time to do too much research yet, I'm not sure which is best. Looks like NRT is probably the one we'd end up at based on what I've read. And then need to catch one of these buses to Disney.

I'll definitely be asking tons of questions here :) Let me know if you decide to look into it for your family!

Well Dh and I are officially crazy. I think we are seriously going to wdw January 28-February 4. Frontier just released a 75% flights to Florida and if we buy today we can fly to Florida for $28 there and $59 back. Haven’t pulled the trigger but pretty darn close. Our goal in going is to do all three after hours events.

As far as which airport we took whichever we could get since we were a little late in getting our flights. I checked and we fly in and out of narita

To everyone contemplating Tokyo Disneyland, I hope you all go! I loved it. DisneySea is beautiful and unique. Here are some things I liked over the U.S. parks:

- As mentioned already, way cheaper tickets! 4 day tickets $206 for adults, $132 for kids 4-11 (that's like the price of a 1-day ticket in the U.S. these days!).
- I found most of the food cheaper and better quality. We had a set lunch at the sit-down Italian restaurant in DisneySea, it was $25 for app, entree, dessert, drink. All delicious. I would have expected to pay at least $40 in the U.S. plus tip on top of that.
- No tipping in Japan!
- The convenience of the non-Disney hotels on the monorail loop. More convenient than most on-site hotels at WDW.
- Everyone sits down the first few rows for parades. I felt a lot less pressure to get a spot early.

Lol seriously about to buy plane tickets! Deciding between $59 Frontier flights back or using Southwest/Chase points and coming back a day early. That way not spending any actual money and Dh will miss one less day of work.
Is swa the same price? I would just stay longer but I’m always for the longer I can stay at Disney the better
