I love credit cards so much!

Wait, your debit card has Chase offers? Where do they show? I have them on CF and Hyatt cards, not on Disney.

In the app when I scroll past my accounts it shows offers. When I click on them it shows for my CSR, and then my old joint checking account (the ex and I have for auto pays on joint accounts) and my mom's checking account. But no IHG and my checking doesn't show.

I have some award nights that *should* be coming up with SPG/Mariott. Wondering if anyone knows how they post. Anniversary date on DH's Pers. SPG is 1/15/18, then I have a Mariott card I signed up for in January '18 as well, can't remember exact date. We need a one night stay Jan. 5th on our way to Disney. I'm wondering if they'll post the 1st of the month. I'd like to use them instead of points. Gaylord Palms is 35k points so I thought that would be a fun little surprise.

I'm having FOMO on this card... even though I have an Amazon Visa lol.

I don't really like how my dashboard looks different now. I'm still using my regular Prime, etc. but now it says by business name and not my name (I actually do have a business name as a writer for years and years). I had to add my husband as employee or whatever to get the giftcard loaded. You have like 30 minutes to create your "business amazon" account after card approval to get the giftcard.

Whatever I wanted to write down the cost of the new cell phone I didn't want to have to buy in the first place. :) Plus I will enjoy the cash back.

My initial limit seems standard to others I've read online - just $2500. You are given that automatically because Amex/Amazon drop the card into your account immediately for use. How kind of them, amirite?

That would be awesome! The Detroit Red Wings were the first sports team I fell in love with. I was a kid that visited my grandparents in Detroit every summer vacation and the Wings won the Cup in 1997 after 42 years. I was hooked! They won again in 1998 and my grandma called in at work and took me to the victory parade downtown. It was awesome and I'll never forget it!

Well you can guess who we root for in this house ;) We're hoping my son is the next Dylan Larkin (who grew up where I'm from). Played for USA u-17/u-18 (hoping the fact the USA team is now based in our hometown will help, LOL. I used to team the USA boys when they were based in Ann Arbor, and I know some boys made the team just because they lived in Ann Arbor. If a kid got hurt or in trouble and they needed to replace them, they looked local). From USA he went to Michigan (Go BLUE!). He was drafted by the Red Wings and after his freshman year at Michigan the Wings wanted him. 19 and playing in the NHL......kid has had a great life, LOL!!! Of course I'm shooting for the stars with all that, LOL. I'd be happy if he can make a travel team again next year to start, LOL. Then we'll work on his highlight reel for recruiting (he's 9, LOL).

But yeah, we're a hockey family here. My son stood no chance! I didn't want a son (I teach mostly only HS boys...I know what they are like away from mom and dad, LOL). But I said if I ever had one, he was playing hockey. He was on skates at 18mos, in lessons at 2 and on a mini mites team by 3. Luckily he likes it, LOL.....in fact he's off at drop in hockey with his dad this morning, and has practice tonight.

Always interested to see what cards people are using regularly.

My regularly used cards these days include the pink gold Amex, Arrival+, Target Red Debit and now Amazon biz in my Amazon account only.

I do carry my Amex plat to be fancy, plus my Chase debit and my HSA card but I need to put that one away. I'm streamlining and getting more simple in my old age.

I'm enjoying the few days we have of free center ice. Why they started it on Christmas Eve and do it through NYE I don't know since teams are dark for at least 2-3 of those days. Glad to watch the Sharks again instead of just waiting for them to be on NBCSN. The one thing I miss about having comcast for our cable is having CBC. Even if I didn't watch the games I'd still try and catch coaches corner or the pre or post game stuff. To answer the question everyone I'm sure is wondering, yes the Seattle area cable has a Canadian station and if you go up to Vancouver you will most likely get our Seattle stations at your hotel at least abc, nbc and cbs. I don't know if other markets have the cross over or not but I grew up watching shows on CBC back when stations had better kids programming including the original degrassi.

Well obv Detroit area has cross over channels. I mean Canada is actually south of us technically, LOL.

  • Rose Gold Amex is getting my grocery and dining spending
  • Csr is getting my travel spending
  • WF rewards will be used for gift cards when earn more mall has good offers
  • Costco visa for gas or anything that needs price protection
  • Finishing up my ciu spending to get 50,000 UR so it’s getting everything else
  • Amex platinum might be next addition but I’m not sure

If I'm not meeting a spend it's my CSR. But right now I need to hit the spend on the Aspire. So that's the one getting playtime. Over the holiday season I was trying to meet the spend on my IHG, my CitiBiz AA and the bonus offer on HH Ascend. I hit all of them and the damn triple dip on the Aspire got me!

I haven't had a MSR in probably 6 months (my spreadsheet is on my other laptop). I did the special spend 2k/get 20k bonus Hilton points a couple months ago if that counts. The longest I've gone since I started this hobby 5 years ago.

Help! I’m now one of those companion pass failure stories!

I was approved for the business card and applied for the premier card on my flight today. The problem is I didn’t cancel my other SW personal card. Ugh!!

I don’t need the CP until mid May. Do you think it is possible to salvage this and earn it before then?
You're not a failure! Yes, you'll probably get denied for the personal card. Cancel your current card. Wait 30 days and reapply. You should still get the CP by May no problem.

I'm boring:
  • CF and Discover for 5x categories
  • SW personal to hit MSR (beginning Jan 1 lol); followed by SW biz as soon as I can apply
  • CSR for everything else

Not boring! I actually think this is more realistic. I was looking over Lucky's credit card/spend list over at OMAAT and he actively uses like 24 cards or something. I have that many ACCOUNTS. But to charge on them all the time... that thought gives me chest pains.

  • everyday spend (outside of travel and dining) going on Cap One Spark to meet 50K MSR. Have quarterly taxes due in a few weeks which will help!
  • Just about done (need about $200 each on SW biz and SW plus for CP) after 1/1
  • CSR for travel and dining
  • CF still need to max out Q4...probably BB to get Disney gift cards for DVC dues
  • using offers on SPG amex cards and Chase cards when worth it. Have 2 cards to use for Staples.

Okay all from reading online it seems I might be able to PC from the Slate I never use to a CF/CFU. Now do I do the CF or the CFU? I'm trying to hit the $4k spend on the Aspire. I think I already have $1k on it...so I'm not worried about hitting it....

As I just said (in the question above) when I'm not trying to hit a spend, I normally put everything on the CSR...well I did get TPG app to tell me which stores to use which card. So I will use the HH Ascend at the grocery store, etc. Since I have the CSR the CFU would be a nice way to earn those 1.5 URs. But the 5% categories might be nice too. I should add I have the Discover IT and I have NEVER used it! I didn't even know it had bonus categories. Guess it's time to find that one in the office and put it in the wallet. We had gotten it only for the balance transfer years ago and never used it for anything else. It has a zero balance on it, so I don't mind putting it into the rotation and paying it off as I use it.

So would you go CFU or CF knowing I have the CSR but also the Discover It?

- I'll be keeping my CFU in my wallet for 1.5x on any random purchases.
- CF will definitely be in my wallet for Q1 with gas.
- I keep CIC in DH's wallet for all of his spending since he's mostly purchasing gas and food. I'll put a "Gas" sticker on a spare CF for him to use in Q1 though.
- We have a new CSP in the mail so I'm hoping to knock out the MSR on that quickly. I have a $500 insurance bill to pay and then might pay a portion of our WDW trip to knock it out.
- If I decide to pay off my student loan during tax season, I might take out a Citi AA Biz for DH to do that.

I was on the Hyatt website looking at a hotel in NM, when this popped up regarding the Chase Hyatt Visa:

Last Chance! Earn up to 60,000 Bonus Points. Offer ends 1/9/19.

Anyone have any idea if the card bonus will change in a week? DH wants the card but can't get it until April. I could grab it now if necessary, but was hoping to get a CSP in January.

I had an email about this today too. I have FOMO for sure, because those Hyatt points can really stretch far.

I've gotten the Panera Chase offer and used it immediately. I bought a gift card. Saw the reimbursement credit on my account. Then got the email from Chase about a week or so later...Hoping for the 30% Staples offer.

well darn, why didn't mine work then. I figured it hadn't worked because it said I needed to order ahead and I ordered from a restaurant kiosk for my food and at the counter for my GC. I used 2 diff cards and neither credited. I think I will send a SM and see what they say.

You should be able to get the CP by May...cancel the personal card ASAP....then I believe the recommended wait time is 30 days...but I’m not sure if that’s to open the same personal card you had or if your applying for a different one you can apply sooner

Oh really? DH is the one who looked at it so I’ll have to go check it myself! I just checked the cash prices as a guest yesterday.
Yep! I have always paid 4400 weekly for a van/suv. It is a flat amount, doesn't fluctuate. There is some sort of peak pricing but I have never been charged that, and we have rented over holidays and everything.
To transfer his points to you or vice versa, you have to call. It is quick and painless and they are immediate. Then you can book. I just did a transfer 2 nights ago. :)

ETA: The website is wonky and often doesn't show all the redemption options on the payment screen. Fear not, you can book, you just may have to call. To avoid calling, I have best luck getting the various redemption options to pop up in incognito mode. Let me know if you need help. Hertz is our primary since DH rents there weekly for work.
