Well just caught up after having company this week.
DH applied for the spg lux instant approval using the mailed offer!
ETA: applied on 12/5 around noon and received card today. disappointing its just a cheap plastic card. Thought it would be a nice metal card considering the annual fee

Are the VGCs sold by Staples also GCM-issued Visas? I know the $50 and $100 VGCs sold at Safeway are GCMs. I got errors on Plastiq trying to use GCM VGCs. @pillow “called the bank” and was told that Plastiq is a blocked merchant:

I planned on applying for the AMEX SPG Lux today because I received a mail offer of 125k points. When I went to apply online, the offer reads like the standard offer of 75k points.
Any ideas of how I can still get my 125k? The offer expires today. I just called them and after being transferred twice, they hung up on me.

Yeah I looked everywhere but that option wasn't available for JetBlue. I did a dummy
date for Southwest and i saw create price alert. For same date or any date for Jet Blue
wasn't there. Maybe its too new?

Hoping for no rain tomorrow morning for my 5k but I'm not hopeful. No snow but mid to upper 30s and rain won't be fun. At least back in July I was smart enough to do the 5k and not the 10k since the medal is the same. Hoping all the snow stays in the mountains and they get more since we're behind. And weather talk is so entertaining

Done with my xmas shopping but it's easy when I only have to buy for mom and the 2 dogs.

Very quiet! I keep refreshing LOL we are supposed to have lots of rain this weekend so don't plan to go out much. I took an inventory of all my Christmas shopping tonight and thankfully have everything expected. I have just been stacking the delivery boxes in my spare bedroom and thought today that I need to check everything after earlier discussion about missing packages!

Chase changed the bonus/approval to 48 months so maybe that?

The Hyatt is getting a lot of love from some bloggers so that or a Chase biz for your DH would be cards to consider. Since you are 6/24 no more chase for you until you drop. Hopefully an approval is in your future

All that really sucks, but the CSP denial is because the bonus changed to every 48 month I would have him apply one of the Chase business cards. But of course you'll have to wait 30 days after his CSP application. Good luck.

Funded my Santander checking account with $500 on my CFU. Just noticed it coded as a cash advance and charged a $25 fee. Any suggestions on what I can do to get it re-coded?

Same here. It's weird as I was in my account yesterday and it still said Pending (and I have no idea how people can see CA while it's pending, I must be blind because I get no additional info on pending transactions). But the transaction shows it as posted yesterday with the transaction fee.

I funded 3 accounts with them on a Chase card back in late August and all three coded as purchase and I got the rewards to go along with it. Did the charge actually post? Not quite sure what Chase would say if you called them. Did you call Santander? Hope they can fix it as now you are getting charged the CA interest since the date posted.

I thought I saw reports recently that it was still working. Maybe it was here. I can't figure out what I'd say to either to get it corrected. Even if Santander reposted it as a purchase I can't see Chase refunding the transaction fee.

Generally there's not a lot you can do here, I'd suggest just paying it off right away. Did you lower your cash advance limit before trying to fund it?

I did not, I left it up for the accounts that may initially code as a CA but post as a purchase. For some accounts there are reports that having a lower CA stops the funding altogether for those. Evidently I should have taken the extra couple hours to have it lowered. Seems I won't be getting quite the $300 bonus on this one.

You aren’t alone! 20 mins at the post office today to be told the package delivered to my PO BOX last week wasn’t despite what the tracking said & I needed to contact UPS. Who I then found out had tracking data proving they delivered it to the post office, back in line, a new clerk and 20 mins later and they found the box. Here I was ticked at my experience but at least I got my box Did you contact the merchant yet telling them the item was never delivered?

Interestingly it was from Groupon and an email from them indicated it was delivered. However when I went into the Groupon app to get info to contact them, status on the item is “in transit” and the DHL tracking indicated it was dropped off at local post office yesterday (earlier info said delivered last Tuesday) I signed up for notifications and got one today saying it should be delivered tomorrow. Fingers crossed. (But I’m so confused ‍)

I am so bad. I contact the merchant as soon as the delivery window ends. Amazon say guaranteed 2 days by 8pm, 8:01pm I call and ask where is my stuff? I swear those sketchy delivery people with the white rental vans just skip homes. I had 5 late/missing things in one week! Practically got free prime that year with all the courtesy credits.

USPS is atrocious. It’s so sad to see this happen to our post office. I constantly get neighbors mail and have numerous packages and letters go missing. Just this week I had a Target order that said it was “delivered” with no explanation and it never came. At least Target did right and went above and beyond correcting it. USPS also lost my $150 Tables in Wonderland card. I ordered it on 11/1 and the eta was 2-3 weeks. Nothing by 11/26. I called Disney and it sent a second UPS 2-day to me. Still waiting on the first card. Lol Never even showed in informed delivery.

UPS my choice premium helps a little. It auto-upgrades parcel post stuff to UPS ground.

If the merchant won’t help, I’d file a claim with whichever CC I used. You should not be responsible for incompetent delivery.

Sadly, we used to have awesome mail delivery people. On a first name basis, made them Christmas cookies, etc. The two at our old house, so helpful, put packages where they couldn’t be easily seen, oversized stuff in the screen door, just thoughtful. Once had a sub deliver our package to wrong address. When the regular guy came back, he asked on his route until it was found. Our current house, until 6 months ago, had a great woman who was often delivering the mail as DS and I arrived home from school. She always chatted a few minutes, remembered DS name, made sure we always had correct mail (and apologized when we got wrong mail on her days off). She now has a new route, and we have a number of different carriers at random times during the day and evening. Lots of stuff not belonging to us, missing packages, etc. Last week had a US government envelope addressed to someone on the opposite side of town in an apartment (we have a single family home, not sure where they thought apt 4 was) I miss our old carriers

amazon delivery is awesome here. It will alert u when it is getting close to your house. will say xx # of stops before reaching. u can literally track where the driver is at! It always gives me a for warning so i dont miss the package. Hopefully it will update to something similar for your area!
UPS delivers well for me as well.
Now Fedex is another story... :\ Waited all day for my package to come($850), tracker shows it went scheduled delivery --> pending with no updated delivery date. So i left to get food... came back to see the fedex truck at my house and drive away just as i got closer...
on the bright side, my roommate was home to sign for it so i did get my package but man i hated fedex since.

Ha I had 3 packages from Amazon today, in 2 deliveries (all from same order). Got the “your package is 9 stops away, arriving by 4 pm”. Map showed it was a block away (9 stops in a block?) and it arrived after 5:30. Not too accurate.

That’s my sister too. She posted a pic on FB with 6 or 7 packages from one day that she didn’t even bring in off the porch until after kids bedtime. Me, I stalk the delivery website, checking for updates. This year I ordered so much, I had to make a (paper) list of items and expected delivery day. Good thing I’m keeping track since things have gone missing. I don’t have Amazon Prime and usually use my sisters account which drives me crazy since I don’t get the email updates when things ship (signed up for a free trial of Prime this year, cancel after Christmas)

I’m so torn...on one hand I’m cheap! But this is a bucket list room for us (and we’ve stayed at GF before). Gah why did you ruin everything Chase! I was going to use my URs on this room.

Lol - that really wouldn’t change my opinion. The SFF accounting system and GAAP rules we follow do not allow us to attribute bank bonus income to travel...yes that sounds crazy and it is true hahaha.

It’s really not about the cost - we can do it if we want...it’s just that I’m also cheap (like SUPER cheap)...and so now that I’ve psychologically set a price for this trip in my mind it’s hard for me to spend $600 more now.
