Dang. Bad Day.

Well, I have been a way for a while but am back and trying to catch up on what is happening and what to do next.

I was denied for a Venture and DH got denied for a CSP (I can't figure this one out. He is 4/24 according to my records and hasn't had a bonus in well over 2 years).

We are just finishing up spend on DH's Arrival+. I ended up in the hospital last month and we will be having a ton a of bills coming in very soon and I need a card to put them on! I am 6/24.

Thinking AMEX biz might be the way to go. What are the best bonuses currently? I need hotel points more than anything right now. I do like Hyatt and have some SPG (well, Marriott now) points. I think I missed the best bonuses for the new Starriott cards, right?

Also, I am worried my hospital bills won't take AMEX. Ugh. What are the thoughts on the new Hyatt card from Chase? I am did my DD in July, so I am probably OK going back to Chase?

Airhint worked great for me this morning. Got alert that my New Years trip to chs dropped. I got back 3500 points per one way ticket. Whoohoo! I always check a couple times a day anyways, but having that email right when I woke up assured that I stopped and rebooked right away. I highly recommend the site for SW fliers. They do frontier and jet blue too, I believe, but I haven't ever flown those so can't vouch for it.

For any DL hostages out there (@kmc8826 ), Delta is now allowing you to use money or Skymiles to upgrade. It looks like it's a $0.0011 (1.1 cent) redemption so not great (when are skymiles ever?) but nice to have the option if you have Skymiles or MRs to burn.

Oh bummer, sorry about the denials. There was another very odd denial on here in the last week or two as well. I believe that person had just taken out a car loan..but nothing else stood out. Did he try calling recon? Maybe there is hope once you know the issue at hand.

I have my eye on that Hyatt too, but no immediate need, so I have prioritized other cards first.

Chase changed the bonus/approval to 48 months so maybe that?

The Hyatt is getting a lot of love from some bloggers so that or a Chase biz for your DH would be cards to consider. Since you are 6/24 no more chase for you until you drop. Hopefully an approval is in your future

I never heard of this site. I just went there but didn't see any place i sign up with my email? I was look at Jet Blue flights.

All that really sucks, but the CSP denial is because the bonus changed to every 48 month I would have him apply one of the Chase business cards. But of course you'll have to wait 30 days after his CSP application. Good luck.

Yeah, some people also saw their SPG Lux upgrade offers change before their deadlines too. Sorry they're being like that. If you're trying to build up Marriott points, consider the AMEX MR cards since 1 M(embership) R(eward) converts to 1 M(arriott) R(eward), plus you have the flexibility of AMEX MRs.

I was just checking my URs, as you do, and there's a charge I don't recognize. I'm going to wait for dh to get home to see if he used my card before I call.

I applied late at night...maybe 11pm and when I checked the website the next day at about 11am, it said I was approved. Have you checked the status website?

While it stinks this didn't work out for you, Amex is notorious for giving you exactly what you see at the time you sign up. I've been told by an Amex rep to think of a bonus as a "daily deal," and what you get is what you get. Hopefully, your 125k will reappear at some point.

Oscar's experience made me look at my Marriott Premier upgrade today. I finally found my email and went ahead and submitted. One thing I hadn't noted earlier was that if you are upgrading before a year, you get the $95 refund. Otherwise its a prorate.

It also is subject to some kind of review first. Hopefully they don't spend a lot of time because I haven't used the card in ages. I do have to get to Petsmart with my 30% offer.

Hey everyone! I haven't been here in a week. We took our one day trip to Disney to take advantage of DAH, this was booked before Chase did away with Disney UR. We booked one night at CR Garden Wing, we arrived at 9:30AM and were upgraded to Theme Park View Club Level! Our room wasn't ready but we were able to head up to the 12th floor to grab some food before they put it away. It was an amazing trip paid on points! I'm sad Chase has done away with Disney rooms via UR. What have I missed?

If you're an IHG card holder, check your email. My husband got an email and if he tweeted a picture with the appropriate hashtags, he would get 5,000 IHG points. He did and the points have already showed up. It must be targeted as I have an IHG card too and I haven't gotten the email. So YMMV.

Yeah I looked everywhere but that option wasn't available for JetBlue. I did a dummy
date for Southwest and i saw create price alert. For same date or any date for Jet Blue
wasn't there. Maybe its too new?
