Another day...another AMEX popup.

- First attempted early last week to put $345 on a card we never use (BBP) for an expense I was being reimbursed for.
- Then later last week put $100 on Hilton Personal card to use an AMEX offer.
- We've run $1,900 through our BCP since we upgraded it (but that's working on an upgrade offer).

I'm not sure how I win this game...I'm considering putting $1,000 in Refundable Southwest Flights on each of our cards. Then maybe the popup goes away, collect my MRs and cancel all the flights after I have my money. This may sound crazy...but this Schwab Plat may be the last AMEX card I ever get. I just want to get my 60k MRs, and then cash out all of my wife's MRs (which would be worth $3,300+ then). I don't see my wife getting approved for any more AMEX cards based on our struggles with this popup, and I've gotten virtually every AMEX card that interests me (and I have to imagine I'd see the popup too if I tried for one).

ETA: I wish I could come up with some other way to convert these 200k+ MRs into cash at a reasonable rate. I just can't come up with anything at a remotely fair value - the best for us would be Home Depot and Barnes, Olive Garden & Barnes and Noble gift cards at 1cpp and that doesn't really help achieve my goals.

My problem is, I just don't want to commit to spending hundreds (thousands?) of dollars at a crap return with no guarantee that the pop up will be lifted. I know many have turned their anger towards Chase, but I for one am solely in the AMEX sucks camp, lol.

Amex offers on my Gold Card this morning: 4 separate offers 40 of 200 at each of Courtyard, Fairfield, Springhill Suites and Sheraton Four Points.

I'm going to try the Courtyard first to see if I can score it on a gift card. It does say gift cards excluded.

I got all of them on my Everyday card, checked my SPG Biz... not 1!

I'm holding off adding any of them and hope for a miracle they appear on my SPG card. I may have to throw some random purchases on there just to get some better offers. I don't use it much, mostly just AmEx offers since Stariott points are pretty much only good for Stariott stays. Maybe finishing off Staples or Lowe's 10% off will kick start some good offers.

I don't have any suggestions but just wanted to say the popup message sucks! I have been trying to put some spend on my Amex cards (SPG and Hilton) to try to get it to go away. I haven't been able to see if it's worked or not though because there isn't really an Amex card that I want right now. I'm working on my CIP right now and the next card I think will be DH Arrival Plus (hopefully!). I'm really curious to see if it's gone away or not.

My SW Plus card AF hit on 11/1, my stmt ended 11/9, and my payment is due 12/6, but so far no anniversary points have hit my RR account. Is this normal? I'm planning on cancelling the card so I'm anxious to get it over with, and I keep checking my RR account and so far nothing! Any advice?

Has anyone had an issue with their purchases showing up on Chase lately? My new CIU does not, and has never, shown any recent transactions. It shows my total balance, but not that anything has been purchased recently. The only way I can see what I bought is to go to my URs where every purchase, back to the first one two weeks ago, shows up as pending. This isn't the usual Chase business website having purchases disappear temporarily. None of them have shown up ever. Ideas?

My DH CIU and CIP do the exact same thing. I am able to see his current transactions if I use the pull down box and select "All Transactions".

I finally got around to updating my dischurners....a few questions (@Albort or @SouthFayetteFan)

CF - no longer valid - correct? I can't find the URL for this in my Chase account so I am guessing it is dead? (I think I do remember reading that here.)
CSP - I did find the URL in my chase account, but I get an error when checking my dischurners. Is this one still valid - or dead too?

What about Chase Untited Mileage Plus - no on that one too?

All my other ones seem to be working fine.....

DH had issues with his Target wallet too. It kept wanting him to sign in. As he tried to sign in the cashier said he couldn't scan it again as it had already gone through. So we just paid with the physical card. The next day DH got emailed the 20% coupon even though we didn't pay through the app. So I guess it worked out for us.

I haven't done a whole lot of Target wallet investigating... really I just thought, cool, I don't have to carry my redcard anymore! So I didn't have it on me that day. But mainly I had a gift card loaded on there that I wanted to use, and apparently you better have it selected before scanning or you're out of luck, or need a cashier like mine. Because I can't just pull the gift card up in the app any more to scan, as far as I could figure. I think that's a feature that's missing.

On my SW cards the anniversary points went into my RR account a day or so after the statement closed...maybe call to see what up....if you wanted to keep the card you could also see if you can get a statement credit as a retention offer

MR questions in regards to Amazon -

Wife ordered something on my account this morning and used MR points. I cancelled the order and redid with my Discover for the 10% back. Will those points go back to the account? It sounds like, from reading, that Amex does something like charge and credit the amount to the card. Concerned I won't get back my 12,000 points and will only get the money credit for it...which would be very very bad use of points. I would worry it is was a couple hundred points, but we are talking thousands here.

I accidently paid with points at rite aid once. I called as soon as I got home and they were able to credit the points back. Maybe just a phone call to amex will confirm that you will get the points back??

Darn, why are they all on my Biz Gold instead of my SPG Biz???? I think I'll add some of the offers that I'll never use on the SPG and see if the hotels appear after freeing up some space. If not, I'll just add them to the Gold since I know we have an upcoming Fairfield stay.

So I pull up the website today, perusing some things I was thinking of using it on - just small kitchen things.
