Thats where I am from!! And trying to move back to! When we go back to visit family we stay at the Hilton Garden. Going there again this week. Maybe I should switch to the Homewood.:rolleyes1 I think it is further down 17 though, and I like to be right by the bridge. Let me investigate...

It's not that far from the bridge and there is a Target that was walkable closer to 17, right behind it. It's the road that takes you to a beach.

The bride's family lived in Awendaw and had the wedding on their property. Beautiful!

why do u have 4 SW cards in the family? haha.
Id do the CSR/CSP double dip for DH while u still can. 8k minimum spends though.
Yes, that is a lot of SW cards! But with a family of 5 we decided on CP for both of us in the same year. So we will fly for our vacations in 2019 and then drive in 2020, which is what we usually do anyway since we prefer driving for some trips where we want to see multiple locations. I totally forgot about the double dip being potentially back. My P2 is semi-reluctant. I read about the new double dip but can't remember for sure. Do you have to get instant approval for the first on one day and then apply for the other the next day? I don't think I could talk him into a recon call! And I don't know if I could do that much MSR. But if we did, when do you think he could apply? Thanks!

Advice needed on next move.

Me:
CSP: 6/18
SW Biz: 9/18
SW Plus: 10/18

DH:
SW Plus: 3/18
SW Biz: 8/18
CIP: 11/18

So I am up next. Ultimate goal is more URs for possible Caribbean trip in Oct 2019. Original plan was CIP for me in January. But I'm wondering if I should take a break from Chase for this next card. I like low to no annual fees so this Arrival offers interests me. We need to buy Universal tickets for our March trip yet. We could use the Arrival Plus points for that, saving URs for October. We are still working on MSR for P2 CIP and I already have gift cards that will be good for most Christmas presents and prepaid a few bills through next June to get through the SW Plus and Biz. We have already both done PNC. I've been trying to find other bank bonuses that can fund with a credit card, but not finding anything more than $500. I do still have a spot for P2 Associated Bank $1200 credit card funding, but it did not go through on my SW Biz for me so I can't count on that. I am considering paying my property taxes in January with a credit card to help meet MSR. The county charges 2.39% so $91 for my $3800 tax bill. Usually I don't pay fees to pay with a credit card, but feel like it may be worth it to almost knock out a MSR.

So I guess the choices are wait until January for CIP or get Arrival, and if so when? Or something different? Thanks for any advise!

Since you want to accumulate URs for your trip, I think having your DH refer you to the CIP in January is a good move.
Looks like you have your SW flights covered with two CP....

Question for Sam's Club shoppers - can you cancel Sam's Club GC purchases? Not being a regular Sam's shopper I thought nothing of ordering a bunch of Sam's GC's for b-day gifts when I was buying online for the 11/10 sale. I stupidly put both purchases on the same order. The restaurant GC's shipped and have arrived, but the Sam's ones are still in "recently placed order" status for delivery between 11/14 and 11/20 - I'm having doubts I'll be receiving them by tomorrow. I need the Sam's GCs for Friday so I'd love to just cancel these and go in store to pick them up instead. I have a "return item" option but not sure if that works to cancel it?

While I'd love free GC's, realistically I'd just like the charge to finally post to my Discover card, where the only reason I'm buying them instead of WM GC's is the warehouse category to finish off my first year double cashback. This is crazy.

I've run the math a bunch of times on the Black Friday deals, after we decided we would just go with a 5qt artisan/tilt head Kitchenaid mixer, and I think Kohl's is the winner. The Kohl's cash just pushes them way past anyone else. Macy's does have a model on sale for $220, which would be $215 OOP after adding taxes but subtracting $15 for a Kroger GC coupon. And I could get $30 from RMN and ~$25 in gas savings buying GCs at Kroger for the whole purchase price. The Kohl's deal would be $240 OOP with taxes but subtracting $10 for a Kroger GC coupon. Then I'd get $20 cashback, ~$19 in gas savings, $60 in Kohl's cash and a $10 reward from Kohl's rewards program. So spending $25 more OOP but getting $54 more in rewards - yes it's mainly locked down at Kohl's, but we could put it towards other houseware things, like some new utensils or oven mitts. Then I'd feel like instead of spending $215 on a mixer, I spent $240 on a mixer AND other kitchen things - it's all about perception, right? :rotfl:

I don't know but I'm in the same boat with Sam's club gift cards. They are just stuck and dropped from pending on my Amex.

So the interesting part for mine is I still only have one pending charge on my Discover but the amount pending dropped to only the amount of the Sam's GCs. The amount from the restaurant ones just disappeared. I thought maybe they'd do a split payment so at least that first part would post while the rest stayed pending, like how WalMart did it last year when I bought a product and a GC on the same order, but it's just gone. I'm really hoping I can just cancel them without affecting the cards I've already received.

I don't see why you can't get both!

Is anyone willing to help me find some good plane tickets for Dh and I to get to and from LAX in may/June?

Is it too early for Dh and I to be looking at plane tickets for our Japan trip? We need tickets to get to and from LAX. The prices I'm seeing are crazy so I'm hoping it's because I'm looking too early...

You need Chicago to LAX? I don't search that particular route, but I have been buying cross country tickets for my DD about 5 times a year for the last few years and from my experience I'd say the "decent price slot" is somewhere around 2-3 months out. I'm not saying sweet spot since our dates are not flexible and planes fill and I'm not willing to book a week or two out. This is for legacy carriers since SW doesn't have a direct from home to her college. I have noticed that 6 months out can be insanely high (as in, I could get to Europe for less, and that's from the west coast) so yeah, I would expect things to go down, but I don't know what prices you're seeing right now. I hope this helps a little bit.

You have been approved. Your new card will arrive within 10 business days!!!

We are the proud new owners of a Chase Ink Unlimited card courtesy of my wife! 54,500 more URs here we come! (That will bring us up for over 600k URs...boy it would be REALLY nice if Disney would come back as an option here, lol)

ahh, okay. that makes sense. im a P1 only player, i never think past P1 LOL.
Yes, u would need to push your first app through to be able to do the next one. If he has a decent set of credit, then not much to worry about. It should be a pretty simple Recon call unlike a business app.
If not, if UR is something u desire, id probably hit a Freedom card and any cards Chase has. DoC seems to hint from his weekly email that 5/24 is now applied across all cards now(DoC will confirm today or tomorrow). So Hyatt card, United, BA, IHG, Marriott, if any of those interest you, its worth the app before u bust out of 5/24.
if Chase cards are undesirable, then we could use some more information on your future travel plans to help u with where to go, ie MR, Marriott, or TYP.

I applied on Thursday, got call from Fraud on Friday and I am still at the two week message

My guess is it should be approved in a few days given the weekend. That sounds like my timeline for the SW Biz as well. Applied Wed night, fraud verification Thursday, then approved Saturday.

Thank you for replying! I swear sometimes my posts get lost in here with all of the other ones lol. We definitely are NOT doing Chicago again. That 5 hour drive killed us and we would most likely have to pay for a hotel the night before plus parking the entire 3 weeks we are gone. I’m seeing around $500 pp or 70k points (together) on chase. Most of those are without bags, too. I think southwest was $700-800 but then you add early bird check in and it isn’t as cheap anymore.

I’m finally seeing the Chase offers in my app this morning too. Most interesting is 10% off Starbucks up to $3.00 (that part isn’t so interesting, lol). Funny that I had 10% off SB on my United Club card and 5% off SB on my CSR...Guess they want me to use that Club card.
