Applied for the Southwest Biz yesterday and got auto approved.

Used the link from Reddit for the 50k/2k offer for the personal premier this morning and was also auto approved.

Companion Pass here I come! Also hopefully disney annual pass if I can talk me husband into it.

Congrats party:

My Amex BGR is coming up on a year, do I wait until the AF post and then cancel or do I cancel right before the fee post?

Looking for ideas for my next card. Thinking I’ll apply early January. Maybe a biz card to space out my personal apps? I don’t know. Feel free to give me any ideas you have. here’s what I’ve got right now:

Older than 2 years old:
AAA Visa (BoA) 1999 (keeping only because it’s my oldest card, otherwise I’d drop it)
Credit union gold Visa 2009
Target early 2016

Recent cards:
Amex Blue Preferred 2/2017
AAA Visa (BoA) 5/2017 (my best card right now for groceries after I max out the Amex BP)
CIP 6/30/2018
CSR 10/4/2018

Quoting myself here because I’ve done more thinking about this...and I’m considering getting the Amex Hilton Biz card with the $95 AF. Maybe anyone with that card can give me some advice on that? P2 has the new IHG Premier, but when we go to the in-laws to visit, Hilton properties would be closer and it would be nice to try it in March when we go.

What’s the latest on referrals for Amex biz cards? Is it possible to do referrals between personal and biz cards? Or does it have to be biz to biz?

I know I have done it from my personal to biz so I think it is work in the opposite direction.

You have 30 days from when the statement closes on which AF posts to cancel. The AF posts either a day before or on the last day of the statement. Just wait until the fee posts, cancel, and you'll be refunded that charge.

ETA: Meanwhile, the referrals from the BGR are 20k MR/approval, capped at 55k MR/calendar year. Are there any Amex cards you might be interested self-referring yourself to?

It's set up to work...you send yourself a referral from the highest card bonus then there's an option to choose other cards--business if you're referring from personal and vice versa.

When do I look into downgrading CSP for P2? It seems to be completely useless to us now. I read about downgrading at a year but do we have to wait that long? I think the CF would serve us better. He is 3 or 4/24 and will probably go for a CIP at some point. If he spends nothing on the CSP will that damage his relationship with Chase before going for the CIP?

My plan was to go for the SW biz in a few weeks and then the personal a month or so later. But now I want to chance the DOC link for 50,000 on the personal before it goes away.

I did the DD end of August and they ended up cutting the CL on my CSP to $5000, about a month later (left the CSR alone) I also have a CIP that I got in May 2018. And a Freedom I got in 2011.
I had planned on lowering my CLs before going for SW, but haven’t yet.
What are the consequences of going for it now and getting denied? Would it effect my chances at all for going for them in the future? Any other negatives?

What % are your total (personal and biz) CLs relative to reported household income?

If you apply and get denied, you'll have taken a hard inquiry to your credit report and will have to wait 30 days from the SW personal application date to reapply. However, Chase is not particularly inquiry sensitive and you could use that month to lower your CLs. I believe the SW cards are thought to be one of the easier Chase cards to qualify for, and you could be approved even with a low credit limit.

Adding this, in case you didn't see my edit: Meanwhile, the referrals from the BGR are 20k MR/approval, capped at 55k MR/calendar year. Are there any Amex cards you might be interested self-referring yourself to?

I don't know if anyone uses Shipt, but on my Delta cards I have a spend $99 get 50 back deal again. I used a few of these last time they had it, it was so great to not go to the store!

Well, I just looked and the only card we need at this point is Delta Gold Biz, but they have crappy bonuses, 30K for $1K spend. If I referred myself and DH that would get me 40K MRs and 60K Skypesos. But we would be missing out on better Delta offers in the future. Do you think that's worth it?

I just noticed that the Delta Gold personal is 50K Skypesos for $1k spend. That might not be a bad deal.

Currently about 30% - they only look at Chase right? Other cards CLs don’t matter?

My AA miles from my Citi Biz posted, so now I have 123,000 AA miles! I'll still need to bump up DH's AA miles, but that should be easy with a Citi Biz for him. I'm most likely going to use these miles to book us JAL flights for our Tokyo 2020 trip. I still need to learn how to do that, but I figure I have until next September to figure it out lol.

I know that's what I saw yesterday for personal but fiddling around with links looking at the biz the gold and plat biz delta had much better offers than personal, at least for my self referral links. Have you checked yours via your link? It could be worth it if you can get a self referral bonus and 60 or 70K on biz--not only for MRs, Skymiles but biz not reporting for -/24.

ETA-I would NOT, with Amex being once in a lifetime, go for 30 or 35K unless there was a dire need.

I know nothing of Delta.

Correct, Chase is looking at only credit lines on their personal and biz cards (i.e., their own exposure). At ~30% total, I think you've got a really good chance at auto-approval! Just make sure the personal SW doesn't put you at 5/24 because you still need a slot for the SW Biz.

With the new universal referral links you can do personal to biz or biz to personal. You should be able to generate a universal link from the Blue Preferred and when you check that out there's a link for "Looking for a business?" or something like that. Is the BCP your only AmEx card? You get the refer bonus based on the card that generated the link so if you had others you can decide what bonus is best (MR/cash/loyalty program)

I believe the Biz is still at the all time high of 125k. You can do through the self refer at 125k/3k or there is still a dummy booking for 125k/3k + $100 statement credit. The dummy booking would negate the AF but potentially the self refer may net a better return (depending on the referring card).

For the RMNers, I bought a Hotels.com eGC from Staples online on 10/31 and got denied by RMN. Just a data point. First time for me, whether buying actual stuff, just gift cards (eGCs or regular), or a mix.
Just quoting myself to say I jumped the gun and was wrong here, just got an email that my $10 is available to cash out from this purchase.
