I love credit cards so much!

So I am reading that Chase Pay is now Samsung Pay. Does that mean that Samsung Pay will code 5x for the CF everywhere? or only where Chase Pay is accepted?

I think the trick is you have to open Chase Pay, and when you click pay there is an option to launch Samsung Pay. I tried it on my work vending machine yesterday, should post tomorrow.

Thanks. Not many places near me take Chase Pay but there are more than a few stores with NFC that take Samsung Pay. This will help me max the CH category.

Its not looking promising. Using Samsung Pay with Chase cards doesnt code 5x.
Im also testing a payment where i used Chase Pay with Samsung Pay. Will report if it post today.

off topic, but I don't want to ask in DVC group and I know many of you are members (@calypso726)

I have a February use year. If I book a 2019 trip using some 2018 banked points and some 2019 points, what happens to the points if I need to cancel. Do all points get returned to 2019?
Yes all points are returned to your 2/19 use year...the banked 2018 points have to be used by 1/31/20...

We don't post people's names so make sure to remove that :)

*SOUNDS* right. Do not bet on this, "sounds right" is not a guarantee.

ETA: hahaha you should probably remove the agents name from your quote reply too @SouthFayetteFan

Is there a rule on that I missed? I thought we'd always shared a helpful agent's name. I know I've shared that specific agent's name before and have her listed on Reddit as someone I used, though I didn't have her email.

Purchases made using Chase Pay
$0.21

Oct 3, 2018 Papa Pizza Pie - Fuller $5.38
$5.38*.04 = $.21

The DIS has strict rules prohibiting the sharing of other travel agents/agencies information outside of the DIS's travel agency, like it's a big no-no. That person is a TA and they do not work for the company that sponsors our board, we do NOT want to tick off the powers that be in our little thread here with such a minor thing :)

ETA- sorry I was rather vague earlier!

Yeah - I'm assuming they're fairly set with the 4 nights at All Star & 7 day base tickets. Once I finalize my booking, resort, dates at Disney I rarely adjust anything - I have to remember that we all plan differently. If the primary concern here is saving the maximum amount of money and getting the most value out of UR points then perhaps it's worth giving up some flexibility. Also, they certainly can't take away the ability to cancel altogether, the reservation is still refundable and the URs would come back in that instance. And then you could book via cash and go another route if necessary (so in that way, flexibility does still exist).
very good point!

Me: I should check the weather in Nashville since it will be Dec 1st. *weather.com shows average high 56 and low 36*
I can wear my cute cold weather clothes??? :hyper::hyper::hyper:
I will likely be chilly but can be hit or miss. We have had 75 on Christmas before. We've also had snow in October. Today it is almost 90. Nashville weather is so weird.

Ah, so exactly what I'm used to :rotfl: My main thought was, I can get out nice clothing... Pretty much the last three years, I have worked 99% of all weekends between Halloween and New Years, so I never wear my sweaters and such. Definitely don't want to wear nice things to work.

Just received an email from Amex on the New Gold card - states that the new annual fee of $250 will be charged for renewal on or after 4/1/2019. I am pretty sure my renewal is March 1st so hoping this works out.

What is the new annual fee for Gold Card Members?

The annual fee for the Gold Card will be $250. If you are a current Gold Card Member, your new annual fee will be effective on your anniversary date, on or after April 1, 2019. You will be notified in 2019 regarding your personal renewal date.

Yes that sounds right. Mainly the problem is Chase Ultimate Rewards is no longer making any new Disney reservations. Connexions is still expected to be associated with Chase at least till the end of the year.

Thanks for the quick reply! So it sounds like Connexions will still hold my reservation until I travel (and allowing discounts to be applied), but will no longer be associated with Chase, and so will be unable to refund me in URs if I overpay - in that case I'll be reimbursed by check. Does this sound right?

I just don't get it. Why cut ties just for Disney now?

Tagging @LuckyMamaInDE — it looks like you didn’t have to wait long; and @mmmears — I know you’ve been eyeing this card:

American Express Gold Card 50,000 Points Signup Bonus Available via Incognito or via Referral

A 50k MR points after $2k MSR and up to $100 statement credit offer on the new Amex Gold/Rose Gold Card is already available via referral links and incognito mode. This is a way better offer than the public 25k MR offer with the same statement credit and spend. The downside is that the Amex Gold/Rose Gold Card no longer comes with its first year AF waived, and the AF increased to $250. However, as @calypso726 put it, with the airline and dining credits, this is essentially a $30 AF card. The up to $100 statement credit from your dining purchases in the first 3 months will help to offset the first year AF, too. And the updated earning structure with 4x MR at supermarkets and restaurants make this a strong daily driver card.

For those who want the new Amex Gold/Rose Gold Card, the obvious way to apply is by referral and hopefully using one of our community’s “support links” so you don’t have to fiddle with incognito modes and browser settings. Using a support link gets you the same offer as you’d get if you spent minutes or hours of your time trying to pull the incognito offer, and this is the best offer on this card right now.

Those who have the Amex Gold/Rose Gold Card, please post your updated links to DISchurners. Those looking to apply, please show your support and appreciation to this wonderfully helpful community by using a fellow DISchurner’s link.

ETA: If you or your churning partner already have an Amex-branded card, even if it's not the new Amex Gold/Rose Gold Card, you should be able to generate a referral from that Amex card for the Amex Gold/Rose Gold Card or any of Amex's other cards. See @SouthFayetteFan's post here: https://www.disboards.com/threads/i-love-credit-cards-so-much.3528202/page-2715#post-59817758

Thank you.

I see it as different since they are only able to be used through rewards programs, which the board sponsor is unable to use.
