I love credit cards so much!

I'll be receiving a shiny new Rose Gold in 7-10 days! :smooth: I've had this card for a loooooooong time, and have been putting minimum spend on it while trying to hit MSR on the CIP. I sock-drawered it, but now since it's so pretty I'll carry it around (and use it for the dining credit each month - the only dessert I really like is cheesecake!).

Like @calypso726 I also took advantage of the 5000 MRs for every $500 spend on an AU card. My mom lives with us, and could use some help with her credit. This was a great opportunity to help her while she's helping me! They let me get the Rose Gold card for her also, even though she JUST got her first card earlier this week!

Also enrolled in the $100 Airline Credit, with Delta. I'll be traveling to Canada next week on Delta, and this will cover the baggage fees each way. Annnnnd, kinda double dipping on that, since I'll get reimbursed by work for that also! I should come pretty close to hitting MSR on the CIP via this work trip also. Hotel/rental car/Meals 3x a Day.... then onto the next!

WWYD? I've mentioned here before that I transferred my Disney res to Chase just before they shut down booking Disney. However, I have to use my URs now instead of April as I'd planned. Right now, I have basically rack rate for 4 nights at All Star Sports and 7 day base tickets for mid-May 2019 (we will have additional 5 nights at AKL through rented DVC points). My remaining balance on the package is right at $2,000, but I was hoping that might go down some when discounts come out. I am wondering how many URs to use - with all the changes, I am wondering how it will work if I pay the full balance with URs now, then will I receive a refund if I am eligible for a discount later? Just looking for thoughts from others, as my DH has no idea what I am even talking about. Right now I am leaning towards paying $1500 or $1600 with URs (1.5x through CSR) and pay remaining balance with discounted gift cards I plan to accumulate between now and April.

This is how my att bill posts to CIP. It is for internet/directv. How does the att wireless post to amex for those of you who have gotten the credit? Does it specify wireless? If so I won't bother switching this over to amex. If not, I will give it a try!View attachment 355832

I have the $200 credit too. So, are you saying I can use it on my At&T Direct TV Bill instead of the At&t wireless bill? That would be better for us as the wireless bill is set up for autopay at DH's work. If I can pay my Direct TV bill instead that would be wonderful.

If I book a room with my Marriott cert, and change my mind and want to cancel later, does the cert show back up immediately like a points booking would?

Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but I am way behind on reading and just jumped in. I was approved for the AMEX SPG personal card on 8/9/17 and should receive a free night on the card anniversary. It has been 8 weeks today since the anniversary date and nothing from AMEX or SPG or Marriott (I have already merged accounts). I did receive a statement last week from AMEX with the $95 AF posted (due on 10/20). Will I receive the free night before having to pay the annual fee? Trying to decide whether to cancel or not and need to make that call in the next week or so. Thanks in advance for any info!

I think things are still unknown since 8/17 of this year was the big merger. Lucky (at One mile at a time) posted it took him 8 weeks (I believe) but I can't remember if that was since his anniversary or statement closing date. I'm thinking, cynically, it's after the statement closing date so the AF will need to be paid. I'd like to be wrong, though.

This is how mine posted: AT&T*BILL PAYMENT 97DALLAS TX
We only have Internet service with AT&T. I guess technically there is a phone number attached on our HomeBase for the Internet service.
I wasn't sure if it had to $200 to get the credit or if they would have issued partial up to $200 so I just went with the $200 pre-payment to be safe and it worked like a charm. I just used DH's offer since mine worked.
thank you!!!

I don't think there's a way to see it before you at least buy the voucher. But if you have dates/resorts you'd like me to check I can :)

We will probably skip a rental car to skip the parking charges everywhere :crazy2: I was thinking if we stay at a sad airport hotel, we'd just head right to the Hyatt in the morning to drop our bags then start with the Country Music Hall of Fame, since it's right there. I think most of what we will do is downtown.

Thanks, I will PM you dates!!
The gulch is right down the road from the other hotels you were looking at in the Broadway area. You could even walk if you desired. Not trying to sway one way or another, just giving you an idea of proximity. :)

Do we know if they'll allow you to modify that reservation later when discounts come out? I know they previously would have, but now with this change I wonder how that will work. (I'm not trying to be negative or spread bad info...just wondering/concerned if they'll even let you make a change).

Those are good questions. I'd probably cancel with chase and just take a statement credit later once I knew the final price after discount.

:offtopic: I know I can get a quicker answer here than the discount board...thanks in advance....
Is there any way I can look up AP room discount availability before buying my AP? I am trying to decide on the timing of my purchase. If it helps me with a room for my dec trip then I will buy now. If not, I can wait...Thanks dischurners!

Like @amalone1013 said you can book it without the ap, you just have to have it when you are there since it's room only and due when you are there. But you won't be able to see it to book online, you'd need to call or have a TA do it unless you have at least one ap voucher.

I don't like cheesecake either but that's not a reason not to go. Their menu is so huge I don't think there's a person around that can't find at least 1 thing on their menu.

Grubhub was going to be hard since it's all online. The places you can stop in store should work just fine, unless Ruth's Chris decides to send L3 data, since $10 for a side of broccoli is the same as a $10 GC once it hits your statement. For Grubhub if everything goes through cashstar anyway, then that probably ends it quick. For the Macaroni Grill offer earlier this year, I got $30 GC's only and triggered the offer just fine. Since statement credits seem to be working the same as the offers, I see that as a viable option for people. (Still not enough to make me pay for a Gold card again though :p at double my previous AF no less)

This is such an amazing offer! I just got it too. One problem...I have Verizon.

Same :( I thought about offering it up to a trusted family member but I think they have the combined wireless/TV package and I thought I read those bills aren't triggering the offer. It'd be a nice gift if it did.

I just sent my payment early and did it on the amex...will let you know if it works.

I’m a bit confused. What exactly are your options now? It sounds like you have to throw all your URs at it now so you’ll have to pay the rest with DGCs or $$$.

Will they apply discounts if you’re eligible? Crapshoot imho. They don’t have to and having been told to stop all Disney bookings as much as possible I would not bet on this. I take it they contacted you and said you must use your URs now?

If they do get a discount for you what currency will you get the partial refund back in? No idea. Count on getting it back in the currency you don’t want back, be happy if you get it back in the one you want.

You’re in uncharted territory here. I don’t envy your choices!
