Update on the neverending resort saga:

So I slept on it last night...and decided...YACHT CLUB and GRAND FLORIDIAN on the Disney Visa offer is it!

Contacted the agent this morning to make the change...Trouble Point - the refunds from the deposits made on my Disney Rewards Redemption cards could take 7-10 days to process. I don't have enough money left on the redemption cards to make new deposits...

So I asked the TA if we could make the deposit on my Disney Visa and then REFUND the Disney Visa and make a payment on the Rewards Redemption cards in a week. I think this is possible with Disney. Of course the TA is questioning the need to do that - "why not just leave the payment on the Disney Visa?" she says...

So I then had to explain to her that 1-2% is not acceptable to me, lol. I'm expecting to generate an 18-30% return on purchasing Disney GCs and using the right CC. Now I'm waiting to see if she's able to book this all...And the reason I'm going through her is I can get a $50 Disney GC for booking the package (and I don't want to walk away from the TA because she has done some work here)...
At any rate.........WHY CHASE...THIS IS ALL YOUR FAULT!!!!!!! :badpc::badpc::badpc::badpc: YOU AND YOUR STUPID URs CHANGE HAVE ME DOING ALL THIS STUPID CRAP NOW!!!!! Sorry...I'm somewhat frustrated right now, lol!

Ahh, one of my dream trips :cloud9:
If it was me that's what I would have picked but we wouldn't have any littles on that trip so wasn't sure if that was too much 'adult' theming.

Our next trip is with my mom for F&W and I don't think we get away with POP for that one, so have to save up/hope URs come back. Unless she procrastinates again in which case she may get combined with the following trip when my FIL wants to go back after all the new worlds are complete. That trip I'm sure we'll have littles...
although at that point they won't be so little anymore, time flies. (unless the great grandkids can make it... wow does time fly now that I'm thinking about it)

STRANGE thing happened yesterday or today with one of my Chase Freedom Cards...

I received 10,000 URs IMMEDIATELY for use...never pending (presumably from a support click). I wasn't expecting them...AND the statement closed 10 days ago on this account so it wasn't because of that. I've never seen URs just deposited directly into my account before...I guess my next statement in Oct may provide some insight. Very Strange - but I'll take them :) :) :)

I did get it to the purchase queue but can't really find dates that will work with our school schedule that aren't ridiculously priced. $1000 for two tickets! I have two tickets for $704 but it Jan/Feb is tricky for weather and DS would have to miss a day and 1/2 of school and just can't bring myself to do it

I feel you! Plus I am just terrible at live performances of ANYTHING---get all figity and bored so I can't swallow the idea of spending that much money. I have realized I am totally not a cool kid like the calypsos :rotfl:

Since I acquire mine through the fuel program at my grocery store I have to space it out, LOL. We need to acquire $4,700 in Disney GCs which will generate about Six 30-gallon fill-ups. They expire on us after 2-3 months (depending on what part of the month they were earned)...and we only use about 30 gallons a month so that's why I have to space it out, HAHA!!
That's where AmEx offers and other stuff like RMN come in to augment. I assume you're using the UR to reimburse the purchase anyway.

Yeah - I'm not sold on RMN - just not something I'm gonna devote time to right now. No judgment on those that love it though. I just like the idea of hitting the grocery store, buy $1,600 in Disney GCs, Save $192 on Gas (+ whatever I'm earning on the signup bonus on that card) and be done for a couple months, lol.

AMEX Offers I'll look at but I'm trying to layer MSR returns of 15%+ on top of Fuel savings of 12% so AMEX offers on old AMEX cards does me little good there.

I'm having a hard time keeping up with this thread. And my question relates to old news....

How long did it take for your SPG Luxe to arrive?

My friend's boss went last weekend and saw both parts in one day and highly recommended breaking the show into 2 days because one day was just too long. Plus she felt that the show could have easily been an 1 1/2 hours shorter. So I was looking for tickets to do that just that which clearly means a longer stay in NYC.

Sorry if this has already been answered... My dh's account had a box pop up at the top of the home page when you log in, but you can also see it in the square where it has you HH points. There's a link for "view your weekend night rewards". But apparently you have to call in to use it, which is really annoying.

That's exactly the info I was looking for. Thanks!

That's what we did when we saw it in NY in June. We went on two successive nights. I really liked doing it that way.

I'd say you'd use the offers on new AmEx cards MSR but I think you're running out of AmEx cards to get

I know...seriously! Could AMEX just release some new cards already?? We're going to hit the $2k necessary on the BCP to earn the upgrade bonus for my wife. Then I think maybe I'll look at a Schwab Plat for her in Nov/Dec so that could provide some opportunities. Our final payment on this trip is around Christmas on the package and Mid-January on the RO I believe.

:offtopic: But had to post, with all the negative news lately finally some good news today. Disney just announced an extension of their Armed Forces Salute. :jumping1:With the news this past week of the ticketing changes and increased attendance next year for Star Wars there were some that thought that they would not renew. This is an amazing offer for those that can take advantage. $257 for a five day hopper! Hopefully Universal will also renew theirs and that will enable us to take 2-3 vacations next year! We haven't been to Disney since May 2017 and we are definitely missing it!

My RMN from Home Depot came through today!

In other news, I thought I understood all about the placeholders on DCL so I booked one. Now I learn I could have booked one for ABD as well. Total fail on my part. And the new cruises aren't making me happy. I wanted WBPC from FL and stopping in Costa Rica and this one fails on both counts. :sad2:

We always rebook onboard, but I've never paid attention to ABD. What is the onboard ABD discount? So you can book 1 DCL + 1 ABD while onboard?

I was hoping for the same on the WBPC but really just wanted Castaway Cay. Again though, it falls during my DD's college spring break, so its a no go for us anyway.

I wanted CCay also. Not my dream itinerary in any case. I'll have to think carefully about this one.

Apparently you can get some kind of ABD placeholder on the cruise in addition to a DCL one. I would have done in just in case. People were talking about this in my cruise group on "that social media site", annoyingly only after the cruise was over.

Curious - do you have to orchestrate the 30 gallon fill up at the same time? Or are you able to return to the pump until you hit your cap? Or do you and your wife fill up at the pump at the same time?

Very seriously considering getting the Disney Visa for DH. Can I take his card with me to WDW and get the perks even though he's not with me? I'm assuming not, but I don't really want to use a spot for an AU.

I'm the guy that shows up to the station with my 5 gallon plastic tanks, LOL. We have Six 5-gallon tanks - it's rare that I end up needing to use all of them (unless the cars are full and I have perks expiring). So typically I have to bring 3 or 4 of the tanks along with filling up one of our cars. LOL. I've been doing this longer than I've been churning...I started chasing gas savings back on our first trip with our daughter in 2011. And that led us into Extreme Couponing too... I've had some wild and weird obsessions!

This is what happened with my CSP a couple months ago! I just had 10,000 show up, no support clicks I know of, showed up several days after my statement closed. Just went straight into my account.
