I love credit cards so much!

It is a tough choice since they all have their merits!

I don't use Uber that frequently so the Amex Uber credit may not benefit me the most in the aspect, but I did like the gold status for Hilton and Starwood/Marriott.
I liked that the Presitge offered 2x on entertainment and I have decent interactions with Citi in the past.
I only hear wonderful things about both Sapphire cards so I was intrigued. Forgive me if this is naive, but can I apply for a business card without a business? How would the pairing work?

I usually go SW or JetBlue. I love SWs flexibility, but sometimes I do not have direct flights from my airport so it is probably a 50/50 split. I foolishly did not take advantage of the past SW 100,000 RR promo. I had looked at the JetBlue Plus card for its free checked bags. I would have easily made the fee back in one, one-way trip!

I believe I saw Chase Sapphire was partners with SW and Citi Prestige was partners with JetBlue. It made the decision even harder haha

I opened the Disney Premier Visa in Jan 2016 and dropped it down to the basic Rewards Visa before the $49 renewal since I was not going to make it back with the 2%. The 6 month no interest financing is very tempting to use. I was hoping to spread the initial cost across multiple cards to maximize a bonus or reward.

I am waitlisted for VGF so it could take some time. The guide did seem hopeful though!

Have you ever sold something on eBay, Craig’s list....you have a business...apply using your name and SS number as the business name and EIN

Good luck with your waitlist...we have owned at BWV for 20 years...stayed at VGF once...loved it but usually go for food and wine so prefer walking to Epcot

Argh, so no multi browser either?
Darn, maybe I will use that Starbucks offer on both cards before it expires today, just cuz I can. I went yesterday on the SPG to hopefully get the better earn rate and was just going to let it slide on the ED cuz hubby only orders when he's desperate (and I'm too cheap to pay those prices for an iced tea or something. I don't do coffee) But out of spite I feel the need to use all the double offers that I have.

My multiple added Amex Offers from before today are still on my cards. Still got my Best Buy offer on my third card (and I just completed my 12th $50 trip to BBY yesterday)!

You’re a little over 2 months from a double dip, so it’s a bit risky, but I don’t know when your Discover will report to your credit reports and put you at 5/24, which would shut you out of the CIP until, it looks like, 8/2019, so you can’t really wait. You could take the risk and go for the CIP now, and since the Discover will eventually put you over 5/24, you’ll be on a forced timeout from Chase anyway. I think a lot of the shutdowns happen after someone is over 5/24 and comes back for a Chase honeytrap.
Yeah I do not want to get shut down so I will chill with Chase until next year and go for some of the Amex instead? :rolleyes1

Hmm, so I got my denial letter from my Marriott Biz (that I accidentally applied for-lol). "Too many recent requests for credit from us" or something similar. But they approved the Marriott Personal that I applied for 45 minutes later :confused3. My last Chase cards are the CSR in November and an Ink in May. Really I don't care because I only needed a Marriott card to get me the 75k points--I didn't care which one it ended up being. It just seems odd.

Marriott Biz probably got denied because of 0/30 if you got approved for the Marriott Premier+ first.

Is the CIP not a business card? And therefore doesn't count against your */24 status?

No SW fare credit for me!

I had booked a Friday flight for our Sept trip, and changed it 3 times as it dropped in points. Then several weeks back we started kicking around going on Thursday, so I booked that too just in case. That's for sure now, so I was trying to cancel Friday's flight and that was the now non-refundable taxes/fees.

I realized that our flight to Nashville in Nov has not been changed yet, and is the same price right now, so I cancelled the Nashvile flight and got the fees refunded, and was able to change the MCO flight to Nashville :thumbsup2
I bet 95% of people would not be able to figure out how to win this game like you did! Super Smart!! Of course I’d put most of us here in that 5 % group :)

This person is currently at 5/24 but their most recent card isn’t reporting yet. As soon as that card shows up on their credit report they will be 5/24 and locked out of CIP. (Otherwise yes you are correct - this is just a strange situation).

Marriott – what are you playing at with all these new restrictions and moving dates on mergers, credit cards and offers?!

Tagging @Judique, @jhoannam, @miztressuz, @wendow, @kidsfirsttrip, @disneymagicgirl, @elgerber, @DisneyMandC, and everyone else I may be forgetting who’s been looking at their Starriott options lately.

American Express Personal SPG Card: 75,000 Point Bonus (Marriott Points) - DoC

American Express Business SPG Card: 100,000 Point Bonus (Marriott Points) - DoC

The SPG Luxury card was (maybe still is) supposed to come out 8/1/18, too; but there’s nothing yet, and some bloggers like DoC think the SPG Lux may release after the merger date of 8/18, maybe 8/26 when the new rules go into effect. (The Marriott Biz is also set to become the Marriott Rewards Premier Plus Business on 8/26 too.) So there was some thought that the SPG Personal and Biz cards may not see points offers until 8/26 either.

(I’m sorry @ jhoannam, I know DH just applied. But I don’t see the 5 elite nights credit on this offer.)

I think if you’re considering applying for any of the Starriott cards before 8/26, you need to consider whether you’ll be disqualified from that card after 8/26 based on the cards you have, signed up for, or bonuses you’ve received, and whether applying for a new card now will lock you out of any other card after 8/26:

New Restrictions Coming for Marriott and Starwood Credit Card Bonus Approval - VFTW

It looks like having or getting any of the SPG cards could limit what Marriott cards you can get, and vice versa, after 8/26.
seriously considering this biz for DH(going for CP by Jan) since I'm not sure I loke the new Luxe offering.... this seems like a great thing...any reason why I should wait for the lux instead?

I'm only reading your statement and not the article and thinking 'what are they thinking'???? Of to read this article.

I get it, didn't realize they were next behind Wal-Mart in size. It's the same as Costco really. The fred meyer card is a us bank MC so at least there it's ok.

Delta Gold Personal referral offers have been updated. Update your links folks! 60k after $3k purchase in 4 months, AF waived, expires in Nov. Disappointed because last year they also did a $50 statement credit offer. There is a current offer I saw when making a booking for 40k after $3k purchase in 3 months plus $200 statement credit after first DL purchase in 3 months that exp 9/19/18. Personally, my parents want this card in the next couple months and one already has it so I am still going to advise them to do the referral offer as they redeem skypesos at over 1cpp (making points more valuable than the statement credit) and parent #1 will get the 10k bonus for their link being used.

ETA: this is a great example of analyzing a bonus based on specific circumstances. While I don't see this as a great DL offer (I jumped on the previous one with the $50 statement credit) this is still a great offer that will do what my parents want, when they want.

Can't put @amalone in the 95% group - this is the girl who can get UR's for using snack machines! Don't even try to take her nickels! (said it with admiration for her attention to detail.)

I did the multi-browser/multi-tab trick, added the offer to my MB Plat, PRG, and SPG, and sure enough it's only added on my MB Plat.
Same thing happened to me. :( Having multiple AMEX cards is looking less appealing if we can't add offers to multiple cards. Boo.

Normally I get a drop down to choose either refund or hold for future use, but it's not giving me that option this time.

This happened to me once (not having the option of a refund). I think it was because I changed the flight already. Now I always just rebook and cancel.

Have you made changes to that flight before? Sometimes when I try to change a SW flight I get a message that it is no longer refundable. I never change SW flights anymore. I always book the new flight and then cancel the flight I wanted to change.

Edit: Now I see this has already been answered.

Only if you would need and use all the lux perks. as with all higher fee cards, one has to address what you would use and if it will pay for itself. A $99 card will usually pay for itself with the bonus for the first couple of years.

I have a PP question regarding the restaurant credit.... if I get $28 credit with my PP,and I have two family members with me, will I automatically get $28x3 credit off the bill? Or do I need to do something special for the three of us?

We just did this in Portland a few weeks ago. I walked into a PP restaurant with my DH and 2 daughters. I was told that we could get $28 per person off the bill and I am assuming we would have to pay any difference. We only ordered 2 cokes and 2 entrees, but was charged $27 for the 4th person. In hindsight, we should have asked for a separate checks for the one coke. You should be fine with just 3 people. Make sure you have your card!

Yeah I wonder if that means maybe the personal one too? If so, that works for me, I'm afraid it'll get pulled right before I want it :)
I've got the SPG Biz, I'm glad I hopped on it in March when it was at 35k, even with the higher spend needed. So now I'm looking at the personals. Had been hoping for a 100k personal, but 75k with a waived AF isn't bad either. I know if I go SPG it's the AmEx lifetime language, but in 2 years I think I can jump ship to Marriott (or whatever they'll be called then) personal since that's what Chase will be issuing post merger.

All with the general proviso that nothing changes in 2 years  I'm not sure how many changes I've made to "the plan" just in the last 6 months!
soooo this is a stupid question..... but why does SPG offer a cobrand card when it's just turning into Marriott? it seems odd....like if I get the SPG biz card by 10/30, I will actually be getting marriott points,so why call it spg? it's confusing

I saw a DP on DoC that the multi-tab trick worked on co-branded cards (Delta and Hilton in this person's case) but not the full AMEX ones, i.e. the offers showed up as added on the co-brands and not on the full AMEX ones. I only have BCP and SPG, and picked the SPG first so I can't verify.
This did not work with my Hilton card. I opened mulit-tabs, added to all my cards (Plat first), then it disappeared from all of them except the Plat. It's not on the Hilton. Boo AMEX!

This especially bums me out because I had it on 8 cards with a DLR trip coming up next week. I also have the Bed Bath & Beyond offer, but my closest store doesn't carry Disney. I'm actually considering driving the 20 miles to another store, but will call first for sure. Boo x 2!!

And, to top it off, the Disney GCs that I ordered from Sam's Club last week, and were supposed to be delivered on Monday, are lost in the UPS stratosphere. No one can tell me where they are or when they will be delivered. Boo x 3!!!
