I love credit cards so much!

But he didn’t get approved yet though right? Can he call reconsideration and find out why he wasn’t approved yet? He can try to get that approved and then apply for the CSP and then call reconsideration again if necessary and get that approved.
Good follow up Q! I read applied and assumed it was also approved...definitely worth asking for clarity!!

Thanks! I don't know why I couldn't find that before.
You're welcome - apparently it's on the final page before you hit submit. It would really suck to spend $5k then lose out on a bonus on that technicality...

EDIT: Although I assume they'd probably just decline the application (and then it's just a hard pull).

I was all excited to log in to CIP this morning and see my bonus points pending. But they are not showing yet. Does it take awhile to show? I went over $5000 on Friday. At $5200, so yes I am over including the fee.

No he hasn’t gotten approved yet but I think we just won’t worry about it this time.

My charge to hit $5k was on Sat 7/14 and posted on Mon 7/16. The 80k bonus points showed up as pending sometime between noon and 6pm on Friday 7/20.

I’ve been busy lately and now I’m way behind on this thread. Need some help with my next move.

Will be 0/24, currently 2/24with a cip from 7/17 which I closed this month and an spg biz from 3/18. I can do probably 8k spend in 3 months. I’m not eligible for sapphire bonuses again till November. Have 249,000 ur points, 43,000 spg points and no mr points or mr earning cards.

My choices- cic, both the marrriot personal and business cards, or the biz plat and dig up some extra spend.

I think my best bet is the cic now, spg luxury next and spg personal if points come back as bonus. Then try to double dip southwest cards for a cp in the late fall.

Any other suggestions? I have no real firm plans for spending any points right now.

Our advice at that point would likely be to have your Husband refer you to CSR...AND to double dip a CSP for yourself on the same day. That would get you 123,000 URs for spending $8,000 = (CSR: 50,000 bonus + 4,000 base + 10,000 referral + CSP: 50,000 bonus + 4,000 base + 5,000 AU if you do a middle name trick or pet or something).

I'd still check back though when you're ready to do it in case anything has changed ;) haha!
That sounds like a good plan to me! I’ll make sure to come back when we get to that point

Nope, don't want to be that DP lol. I did SM to lower it to $200. Looking at my paper the card was mailed with it was set to $3740. Seems like a weird number. Dumb question, but the cash advance limit is for both cards, right? Or did I need to ask about the AU card separately. I am using the AU card for the funding.

The AU card is the same card number/account number so I believe the limit is the same. I think the cash advance limit is just a percentage of your available limit overall.

What if you go for the CIC now? You don’t need to lower your limits but personally I would. Is just easier to get automatically approved for a card. I don’t like having eyes on my account, but you don’t have to. I guess it really depends if you need that much credit.

Hmm. The CIC is a good alternative. I ruled it out in my head a few months ago, but I can't recall exactly why at the moment. Part of the appeal with the Marriott card is that 75,000 points will put my real close to 400k points. And I would really love to stay at the Swan with 2 room for 5 nights after Star Wars Land opens.

It took ours a little while to show up. Since it just happened Friday it may still take a couple days.

They are supposed to be immediately pending, but I actually noticed a few day delay when waiting for my SOs CSP/CSR bonus. I think it refreshes in the morning. And all the transactions have to post and not be pending. Still even considering that the points took a few days to go pending.

That’s a good option too. Could you squeeze both in before your double dip in December?

Why not wait for the SPG Lux for the 125,000 points? If you get a Marriott card now, you disqualify yourself for the SPG Lux. CIC sounds like a good choice for now.

This new work computer is driving me crazy. They locked down our Chrome browser so you can't be logged into it, so it can't remember logins and stuff for you, and they blocked extensions on the browser, which makes me sad for Swagbucks reasons and I can't add any new accounts to my Award Wallet acct :badpc:

Is that a birth year LOL? If so, even more ironic since I was born in 1969 and yesterday was my birthday.

:bday:

It seemed like 3-4 business days from the date it posted before I saw them pending. So if it posted on Friday (and not just the transaction date of Friday) then probably see them by Thursday at the latest I'd think.

I'd think it's the difference in AF for the extra 50k points, extra $351; plus the rumored higher spend of 5k vs 3k in 3 months. If you planned to spend the $300 SPG/Marriott credit anyway in the year and can make the spend I'd go that way too. But if not, it's really hard to justify the AF on that card. (at least for me)

Question on Marriott/UR points. I am in the process of booking two Marriott rooms over the Christmas holidays and am 75K points short. Was thinking of transferring UR points over, but all our UR points are in my CSR account and my DH is not an authorized user. We do have a CIU and CF where he is the authorized user. Could we move the points to an account where he is the authorized user and then transfer to Marriott? We usually book Hiltons, so Marriott is all new to me. It looks like I can book the reservation and then add the points later? Any other thoughts?
