I love credit cards so much!

I am starting to plan our flights to Australia for Aug 2019. I see on AwardHacker than I can fly first class for 140k on Alaska. Although it looks that Alaska would BWI to LAX and then Quantas to SYD. It looks like SPG is the only program that moves points to Alaska. Since there are 3 of us, I would like 420k. Any thoughts on the best way to accomplish this? Are 3 saver awards possible? Other thoughts? Currently, have SPG, Marriott and UR points.

kinda happy that TPG posts quite a bit... the stories get buried quickly...

Except I'll see the same story/tweet put out on twitter 2-3 times a day and then 4 months later it's tweeted about again. Only follow at this point so I can see big stories and then look for DoC's tweet about it :D

Tried Gyft again tonight. I did the $100 Walmart and sure enough, I got the delayed processing message. Went through about an hour or so later. Bought another $100 Walmart and also delayed. My experience sounds like it's following @DaveL's experience!

Yeah I was able to just wait for the approval message and buy another. They told me to just wait 24hrs after a denial since it just might auto deny everything after that. I think it was two or three delayed cards then they just worked right off after that.

There are no 'support links' for bank account bonuses, right? I've not seen any chatter about that but I want to make sure.

So, I opened the Memory bank one before our CA trip (and funded $500 using spg personal) but didn't get all the DD's sent through until a couple of days ago. From my reading, it seems like I should expect to see the $100 bonus on July 16. Is it ok if the pushes from Ally show up at Memory Bank as a 'P2P'? Was planning to do one of these accounts for dh & my dd18 but it expired before I could get that done.

Then I did the Fidelity offer for both dh & I (my dd was not approved...not enough credit to verify)...Already got those bonuses!

I am trying to get my dd18 an account opened somewhere to deposit her grad money. She could just use her Ally account, which earns great interest, but it would be really cool if she could get a bank bonus. So, I helped her open a PNC account yesterday. I funded with $2k using my dh's new CIC. However, the application went to pending. I'm afraid this one may not go through either. They asked about 6 identification questions and none of the answers were correct for her, so guessing there is just not any credit report to pull for her.

I had hoped having her on as AU'er on a couple of my cards, as well as her having her own Chase checking for a year would help her when the time came to open accounts but guessing we should have done all that much earlier. I'm going to start adding my dd15 as an AU'er to more of my cards now.

If my dd is not approved for the PNC, I'm on the hunt for a bank that will open accounts for young people. Maybe the Discover bank account? We did apply for her the IT card (used a DISchurner link, of course) and that went pending also.

there are some banks that do... citibank does, i just recently did one with incredible bank.

I didn't see anything about a minimum spend for each purchase. Of the places around that I can use it, there isn't anywhere that I would spend more than a few bucks anyway so hopefully that's enough.

Agree. I said there's a couple places to take the kids for lunch or so. Or I can buy some gift cards from a few stores. But if only 3 purchases needed I'll take it.

Hey, something I have experience with.

The Memory Bank bonus actually did not require a legit DD. All you had to do was open the account, and do 3 ACH deposits of at least $200. So yes, no matter how your Ally deposit coded, it will count as one of the three for the purposes of the bonus.

I opened the account, funded $500 on Amex, immediately did 3 ACH pushes from Ally, and got the bonus less than a month later. Kind of sad that one died so quickly, it was especially valuable as one of the only banks left to fund with Amex.

The bright green dotted line is the walking path from the Sheraton to DLR. For those thinking about staying at the Hilton, I've also added a (harder to see) darker green dotted line from the Hilton garage out Hotel Way, up Katella, and merging onto Harbor. The bright blue dotted line is the walking path from the Sheraton to the Toy Story Parking Lot's shuttle stop. The darker blue dotted line is from the Hilton main entrance up the driveway before merging at the crosswalk on Harbor. The solid bright blue line is the Toy Story shuttle route as best as I can remember it (it's been a few years since I rode it) -- just remember where the "x" marks the shuttle stops, drop-off, and pickups, and the shuttle will get you where you need to go.

You can also see I also highlighted the locations of Marriott's SpringHill Suites and Residence Inn, Hyatt House, and Hilton's Homewood Suites, which were all mentioned as alternatives. There's also the location of CVS and Walgreens, which have decent pricing if you need to buy something on vacation. And most importantly if you're staying at Hyatt House, the Starbucks.

Hope this helps!
If I’m looking at the map, where is the Fairfield Inn? And how further is the Springhill Suites from the entrance? (Looks to be about a block or so.)The free breakfast would b nice but I have a feeling we’ll be doing Disney for breakfast anyhow since we are only there for 3 days.

Morning all!
I just skimmed the last several pages, as I wasn't on yesterday.
On the DVC, LOVE it, wouldn't trade it for anything!!! I have only added on once, but sure wish I could have more! I also agree, so many people complain about things, why are they members? And so many that buy and have zero idea how it works, so not smart.

I also paid my property taxes with Plastiq, with no issues, once it finally let me submit it.

Good thing I have a new MSR to meet, since I broke off a chunk of a tooth over the holiday. That should make for a nice tidy bill to go toward the MSR LOL.

I saw that Amazon deal with the MR, but I don't have mine yet...they are still pending till my next statement, because my card is newer. Wahhhh!!! With ds buying his first place those gift cards could have come in very handy!

The Fairfield Inn is that red roofed L shaped building behind the McDonalds. I'd say the Fairfield Inn is much closer than Springhill Suites.

Oh, and my annoyance from yesterday. The finally released September dates for the Star Wars dessert party. I wanted to use the new AMEX so the $3xx.xx would go towards my MSR, but it would not go to the next screen with that info. When I reverted to my Disney Visa it had no problem moving on to the next page. Very irritating. Going to try again today and see if I can cancel and rebook with the AMEX.

Did someone here tell me that you should only pay your Amex once a month when the statement is due? I'm the type that just pays on my credit cards every pay period (always pay in full, just like breaking up the payments). I felt like someone told me only to pay once a month but I can't remember for sure...

Well, that feels good. I just went and changed the due date on all my Chase cards to the same date. Even though I usually check in once a week, I like knowing that they all have to be paid by the same easy to remember date.

Now my question. I just requested to lower the credit limit on my oldest, useless Slate card that I just use once or twice a year so they don’t shut it down. I’d like to lower some of my other limits, because right now chase has extended me well over 50% of my income, and I want to have room for the new SW card when it comes out. Actually, yikes! It’s pretty much 75%of my income. That’s nuts.

Anyhow, I seem to remember someone mentioning that $10000 was the minimum that Chase would approve a Reserve card for, so I don’t want to ask to go below that, right? Is anyone aware of any other minimums? My other cards are the sapphire preferred, a regular Marriott, and a regular IHG. I recently closed an old SW, and Chase raised the limit shortly afterwards on one of my other cards.

Thanks.
