That would freak me out :)
My only strength is I'm not half bad at playing dumb and you'd be amazed at how far that can get you on some things.

i hear u. One of my MS runs, the cashier remembers me and got suspicious of what i was doing and she ended up calling the manager on me...

I leave tomorrow for Atlantis. I checked in this AM with Southwest right at 24 hours and got an A boarding position. I’m super excited to get away for a few days. I’ll try and remember to take good pictures so I can share a review.

Can’t wait to read about it! That’s one of the trips I am wanting to do but can’t bring myself to spend the points on.

Double Dip - SCORE!!!! Many thank yous to all who have held my hand this morning!!! I just called Recon for the second time. I wanted to wait longer but I have to leave for a meeting so I figured WTH. All they needed to do was verify my identity and I got approval for the CSP with a 19K credit line. YAAAAYYYY! That was much more stress than the CIP application for DH. I am super excited to get the new cards right before our summer traveling/spending spree, haha.
:cool1::cool1:
Thanks again!!!

You know how I mentioned some people book SW flights just so they can access an airport lounge, then cancel?: Exhibit A

You have good friends here.

Slowly catching up again... on page 1517 now...

Someone was looking to open a Chase bank account I think.
Chase $500 bank bonus is back (300 checking, 200 savings) with online sign up. DoC's update here: Chase $500 Checking and Savings Bonus Publicly Available Online

Email yourself a coupon code first. If something goes wrong during sign up or they pull the offer early, you can use your emailed coupon code to apply the offer to the account via SM or use it to open in branch (if you have one available). All details are in DoC's post, which is now lengthy!, but I didn't want anyone to miss that tip.

No CC funding :( Just a good checking bonus if you can direct deposit.
Hmmm, been waiting for this for DH! Thanks!

Yes, you do have to ask. If you are executive, and receive a refund check that is less than the membership difference, just take the check to customer service and ask for the refund. It's very easy and don't have to fight for it at all.
And it just tracks via your membership, so it doesn't matter how you pay? I might do this, we're due to renew in June.

My name is disneymagicgirl and I have a problem. I am addicted to hoarding travel points. I cannot bring myself to spend them. I get anxiety thinking about using them for something and then needing them for something else. Committing to trips so far in advance makes me go AAAHHHH. :crazy2:
I stress about transferring URs out. I was second guessing our Hyatt stay until we checked in, even though I'd earned back URs like 3 times over what I'd transferred out at that point

Update @amalone1013: I got an email that my discover bonus should be deposited within 2 dayspixiedust:
That was the easiest money I have ever made.
Yay! I think my transfer back to Ally will show tomorrow because of the holiday, then I'm sending the whole chunk to meet the $25k through. I'm glad it comes so fast! DH will be next!

Just back from another super easy experience opening a checking account for a bank bonus. This time $400 for opening a Key Bank checking account. Once again, there wasn't a sole in the branch other than employees when I walked in, so I was in and out in about 20 minutes with my account opened and an initial deposit made to trigger the $400 bonus. And I've already set up my online banking account. Now to avoid incurring fees on the account, I just have to make a $500 transaction once each account cycle until I can close the account in 6 months. With the online banking set up, it seems like it is going to be very easy to essentially keep moving the same $500 in and out of the account to satisfy the account cycle requirement, since there is no minimum balance amount required to avoid fees or keep the account open.

I at least skimmed the pages I missed... :P

Today I checked where we're at on our Q2 spending:
  • Freedom $498, with another $400ish planned (probably tonight)
  • Discover 1 $525
  • Discover 2 $139
On the topic of hoarding points, I also hoard cashback.. I just realized that we've accumulated $400 in cashback on the Discover cards. :rolleyes1 I feel like I'm just twiddling my thumbs waiting to see the next Freedom category... I definitely want to max out this Freedom category, and then maybe Discover, by floating some money for gas/groceries for the next few months. My only major plan right now is to try and see if DH can get that AMEX Platinum offer. Otherwise, I might have him get something else, or I'll get a business card, before his new vehicle registration - I think that fee is 2.5% here. It'd be nice to put it towards a MSR.

I had been without MRS for a few days and got a little twitchy. It must have been time for a new card. I couldn’t get the 60,000 Delta offer to pull up and needed a new plan. DH now has a new SW business card. When that spend is done he will have a CP. I have one trip planned to Marco Island area for the end of Sept for 8 of us. I’m hoping he will come, but if not, at least we will have 115,000 RR to use when we complete this spend.
DH also made the “dreaded phone call” today and PC’d his CSR to a CF. I’m already seeing this in his account. We got this done before his second AF.

My SPG points posted today and are waiting patiently in my Marriott account. My additional 10,000 Marriott points should join it on June 9th. The plan was to get the cat 6 hotel and flight certificate. I’m a little nervous waiting now, especially with today’s DPs. I can transfer UR and just do it but I’m not sure I want to.

I think I would like to try this next! Is the $400 just for New York? I feel like bank bonuses can be easy, but they feel a little overwhelming too

I agree with @Lain. I think lowering the limits preemptively is good. You just have to do it way in advance and not two days before like I did (before CIC app). And yes, still leave room to move credit if needed.
Hmmmm... so lowering my current Chase card limit at lunchtime isn't going to help my app tonight? Maybe I should have last week. Week. Planning the DD tonight.

I'm actually in Idaho, and I believe Key Bank is based in the state of Washington. I got a mailer with the offer, and there is a branch between my home and office. But they do have a website if you want to do a little research. The state restrictions can be an issue. It does not look like ID is an eligible state for the PNC bonuses, for example. I had also received a mailer for the Chase bank bonus I got a few weeks ago.

My only strength is I'm not half bad at playing dumb and you'd be amazed at how far that can get you on some things.

I had to do this at target last night. On Saturday morning I had both babies and somehow we lost one sandal while out getting some errands done. So we went to Target for a few things plus some inexpensive shoes for the 16 month old so she could walk around in my back yard.

Of course I got all gaga with the cute little things and $135 later, we were out of there with me thinking I bought 3 pairs of sandals at 40% off. There was a sign that said 40% off, but I did not read it very carefully.

Took my receipt and a defective sun hat back on Monday night and asked for my 40% as it wasn't on my receipt. Well, it was a cartwheel discount and I didn't have the ap on my new phone and truly didn't note it on the sign.

I let them do their thing and just stood there in clueless mode, while they fixed my mistake. They were very helpful and I was most grateful! Later we found the original lost shoe.

When I get them on Friday I'm staying out of Target!

This is on my to-do list as well. I am waiting to have DH call on several items all at one time. He hits the 12mth mark in June for a SW card, so I will have him call then. He will cancel the SW card and downgrade the CSR so I can DD it again for him. Then he won't have to call again until the next SW annual fee comes about in September. :)
