I love credit cards so much!

I showed my mom the confirmation for the Marriott in NYC this morning. She is very excited! I told her we were in walking distance to most of the stuff she would want to see so she's going to start checking stuff out. So now once I see flights drop to $167 from RIC to EWR again I'm going to go ahead and book them!!

I love our movie passes! We got them online at Costco when they were $89 near Christmas. We have totally already gotten our money’s worth. I’ve seen 10 movies and DH has seen 19 since all since January and we aren’t even half way through the year. I got the movie passes as stocking stuffer gifts for my family too. So we usually take my mom with us. She finally learned to use the app with some coaching and has gone on her own to see movies too. I’m not sure if the program will continue or how it can sustain itself but we love movie pass!
can you get the moviepass at costco?

As far as Hyatt vs. Marriott: Where will you use the points? I'm new to Hyatt but pleasantly surprised about the number of points for rooms vs. Marriott. We use most of our hotel points for visiting our kids. College towns, football weekends. I'm finding that the Marriott points don't go very far. We're planning a Hyatt vacation next year for my DD's spring break.
I was seeing all the redemptions noted on here, and it seems that Hyatt card is a good bet,I already have 2 IHg cards (2 player) that I like a lot. considering Hyatt for the ease of using points, plus the ability to transfer to SWA

@SouthFayetteFan Stop trying to scare people.

@wendow - They will never ask you to prove you are breathing. It's assumed because they received your application that you are among the living. I mean come on, everyone (including Amex) knows that zombies are unable to operate computers. Until there is a class action discrimination lawsuit against Amex brought forth by the walking dead whereby everyone in the courtroom is relieved of their brains, I think it is safe to apply for Amex biz cards.
Lol, I agree calypso! I find Amex biz cards super easy to get. I’ve gotten two this year, and never had to prove I was breathing lol!

Do Disney park tickets purchased through Undercover Tourist count towards the CSR $300 travel credit? And do I have this right, assuming they do, you purchase them and it automatically comes off your staetement without you doing anything?

Yes, and correct. UT codes as travel, which will trigger the travel credit up to $300. Once the UT transaction posts, a statement credit for that amount (up to $300 or however much travel credit you haven't used) will post within a few days.

Bit of a quandary. I had a 2-3 year plan but have been thwarted by changes not allowing SW CP as I planned.
So I need to reasses and come up with a new plan.
2 player mode.
I have
Chase SW 7/16
Marriott 3/17 (cancelled)
Disney 7/17
Hyatt 9/17
Barclay Aviator 9/17
Discover 12/17
Hilton 5/17
SPG Biz 2/18

I plan to cancel SW, Disney & Hilton before next AF. Also have older CF (PC from CSP)

DH has
CFU 10/16 (PC from CSR)
CSP 5/17
Chase SW 7/17
BOA Premium Rewards 1/18
CIP 5/18

Originally planned SW & SW Biz for DH at end of this year for CP in 2019. That won’t work. Also planned to upgrade one of our cards back to CSR to improve redemption of URs but couldn’t stomach fee this year (plus managed to triple dip travel credit)
Need SW miles for March 2019 Disney trip. Like SPG/Marriott for same (hotel already booked for 2019 but have been doing it yearly). Use AA miles for other trips, need >400kfor trip to China. We will have around 150k URs after CIP bonus. Using for cruise excursions in 2019 and hopefully WDW tix.
Considering CIC for DH if current bonus continues. Also considering SW Biz end of this year to have points hit in January, then could hopefully get CP after DH is eligible for SW personal 8/19.
Other thoughts, plans?

no....why? I'm still trying to figure out if I can bring a carryon for the overhead with my saaver award
Because you get free bags with CC even if booked with miles. I think you get 2 carryon, no checked bags with Saaver, unless business or first. You might want to email to confirm though since their website is vague, unless it is stated in your confirmation

The Blue Business Plus (BBP). There's a targeted offer out there for 20,000 MR after $5k MSR/3 months: https://www.doctorofcredit.com/amer...lus-20000-point-offer-2x-purchases-50000-cap/

I've gotten an "offer not available" message when clicking the links and logging into my Amex account(s); but I've been able to pull up the 20k offer several times by going into incognito mode first then clicking the links.

There offer through support links is 10,000 MR.

Is there any way to get the 20 for 3 spend? Anyone call ?

Yes it counts but the AF doesn’t

Great, thanks! I was thinking to just subtract off the AF from the statement balances to figure out my spend but then I realized the balances also wouldn't show the travel purchases because of the credit. So now I guess I'll do a quickie spreadsheet to factor both in.

They should count. I also make it a habit to spend above the MSR by that amount just because it “feels” right lol!

And normally I would, as I did with my SPG card because I wasn't sure if the AmEx offers statement credits counted or not, but with thinking about going for yet another card before finishing off current spend I'm trying to not "waste" spend :) Especially now when I was hoping to use my Life Ins premium for part of the next card's spend but I just got the bill and they are mum on CC's. (Happy to take a ETF from my bank, though, of course. More research needed now, hope the phone lady wasn't lying, grr)

While I haven't met anyone off this thread in person... yet :) I've met a few others off these boards and we just hit it off like we'd known each other forever! And that's saying a lot for me because I'm a pretty shy person overall.

We met in person, but it was a pretty quick deal. Just got you checked in for Moonlight Magic and went on our ways. :)

Which are better for earning pounts for flights to Europe - Amex MR or Chase UR?

Can use any airline that flies out of JFK. Fly into London, Paris, Venice or anywhere really......

What points do you use for your Cruise excursions? UR?

I just applied for a Discover it card for students for my college kid. Instant approval! Card is on the way!!! :cool1:

Is it their first card? Dd has been an AU on my SW card for a year. Debating getting her her own card or let her keep earning me points.:rolleyes1

The BB+ we recently completed our MSR on was the 20k for $3k. I called in and asked for that offer, however I've heard they stopped mailers now so I don't think that option will work anymore. :(

Well well well......after searching through my email with target word amex i found this.

I'm really tempted to take that first offer but EVEN I don't know if i can spend 10k in 3 months....especially organically.
Wasn't there posting of folks saying they were cracking down on gift cards. The saving grace is i noticed there is 0 charge
for adding authorized users the first year so i could give one to my husband and the daughter that has a job:headache:

I keep staring at the no annual fee for the first year. Man if i can get 75k points without a fee i would be thrilled.

Any thoughts?? Anyone have this card? Anyone had to make a lot of spend in short time? What did you do?

Thx!
My wife and I both got the BGR under the regular 50k points for $5k. I referred her the second time around so I got some extra points for that one. I don't regret what we did but if you can get a higher offer that's great too.

The second offer you mention is probably on the SimplyCash card. You probably did the math but the return on that one isn't great.

I just looked again and it is the same card. I wonder why I only got the 200 dollar offer? I rather have the points.
I wonder if any data points around if you call and they can switch it?
