We're all celebrating with you!

P.S. any extra spend? If not, sweet!

Nope, was told I don't have to put an additional dime on it since I already met the original bonus terms. The points will just be added. Said I will of course keep using the card given how appreciate I am :P

*I edited my prior post to note that detail for others :)

Wow! 35k SPG for just $5k spend. Congratulations!

Oh goody! I think I'm going to risk eyes being on my account and call.
Can I ask what exactly you said to them?

Said I applied for the card at the beginning of the year, was told by someone who just got the card that they are getting a new offer, so I checked the website and saw a higher bonus. Told the rep I was planning on continuing to use the card, but will likely stop if they can't match the offer since I felt I wasn't being treated the same as a new customer getting a better offer for the same amount of purchases. She said "rest assure, we will try to make this right", put me on hold, and came back to offer me 10K just outright since I already met the spend and was a longtime custy. Should see the points very soon and offered her rep number as a reference if I didn't see it.

SWEET!! The original reddit post also mentions the rep noticing the person had about $6500 in spend on the account already so it looks the reps do review your account and spending when looking at this. My sketchy spending and I shall be staying away from calling in but I hope others here are able to get more points!!!
ETA: unless everybody under the sun gets matches because SPG released more points or something to amex (is that even how that works? idk)

I wonder because at the end, she did note they have been getting feedback from people who applied earlier and therefore, will be relaying this to Starwood. Obviously, could simply be customer service speak. But fingers crossed for those such as yourself who don't want eyes on your account by calling.

I haven't finished the MSR yet, so I wonder if that will be a factor.

They might have you call back when you've completed your min. spend to get the extra points added. I had that occur once before when AMEX "matched" me.

Attempting first CIP payment on Plastiq! (Told a fam member and she is super skeptical it'll work as I told her that BB promo a couple weeks ago might code as 3x and then it didn't. Guess we'll find out if I'm a curse for CIP processing...)

Yeah, sorry about that one (Cashstar). I don’t think anyone realized the coding changed until DPs from the Best Buy deal started coming in. It took me by surprise. Please don’t jinx Plastiq.

I just got an email from Amex. Add up to 4 additional users to my BCE by 4/28 and they spend $250 in three months and I get a $25 credit / user. The interesting thing is it said 13+. I was sure the rule was 15+. Guess my kids will be paying for groceries!

DISchurner fact...our 3 largest "page-view" days this year have been:

1) 2/6/18 - 248 views - the day the Disney Visa offer changed to $200 statement credit (+ $100 for referrer)
2) 3/2/18 - 240 views - the day after the increased SPG and Delta offers came out
3) 3/1/18 - 192 views - the day the increased SPG and Delta offers came out

It's no coincident that these major news days are also our largest traffic days. People are either updating their links, or (from the comments I see here) supporting other DISers ;) Also, in other news we are now up to 110 members :)

AAA is regional so, in my region at least, you can only recruit friends in the same region. Happen to know what region you're in? We're "Mid Atlantic"
It is a weird request, but if it's a smaller company I can maybe see it as a cheap type of insurance that gets you some discounts. Probably some bean counter figured it out. But if they want it for hotel discounts, most times the discount is only about 5% and it's not always the best rate. If it's not the best flexible rate, most times it's the loyalty member rate that beats it, occasionally we've had just the regular flexible rate beat it out but that is rare.

Southeast region. Someone PM'd me. :)

It is a very small company. DH is basically the first employee. His previous boss/mentor he worked for 10 years ago started it a few years ago and has been trying to get DH to come onboard ever since. He is finally making the move. We will see if it helps or not. The boss/owner seems to think so. DH and the boss are both Hilton Diamond, so I guess he'd know.

I'm back from a long vacation (which was awesome) and ramping back up to apply for my next round of cards. I've had a couple speed bumps and thought I'd see if you guys had any comments.

As a refresher: I'm sitting 4/24 (or 3/24 depending on whether SW business card counts?) and my goal is UR or MR. DH has been a partial dual player, but he's ramping up, too.

My */24 cards:
--CSR (8/16)
--Amex Plat Business (1/17)
--Citibank AAdvantage (1/17)
--Southwest Business Premier (2/17) (will be closing)
--Southwest Plus (2/17) (will be closing)

After you guys helped me so much with my plan, I'm all set to apply for the CIP even though it will be my fourth Chase business card (I have a single member LLC), but a couple of things have come up.

(1) I put a credit freeze on both DH and my accounts last year after the Equifax breach. I kind of like it. Has anyone done the call with the one time exemption code to lift the freeze after applying? My understanding is that I apply, get the pending message, and then call to talk to Chase to tell them I have a freeze and ask what credit bureau they use, and then call back after getting the code. If it's a hassle or potentially hurts my chances of approval I can just lift the freeze and do Credit Karma and Experian.
(2) I received my annual fee bill for the Southwest Business card that I'm planning to close. Should I close it before or after applying for the CIP or does it make a difference?
(3) Ironically, I received an email offer to apply for the CIP. It does not have a code that I could find. When I click through it just takes me to the fill in info page. I'd love to give someone here a plug with a referral, but I read the chances of approval are higher with one of these offers? If true is there a work around?

My husband will also be applying for the SPG so I will be spreading some love there :)

I'm planning to apply for the SPG, too, after the CIP and closer to the 28th to spread out our spends. Sadly meeting big spends are usually not a problem :( @Calfan understands.

I just got the $5000 for 25,000 points card last week. If I want to try doing what you did should I finish making the minimum spend first?

It’s definitely 13. I used an offer to add my kids to my Amex Platinum so we could all get Centurion Lounge access for an upcoming trip with a fairly long layover in Houston, but there was also an officer for 5,000 MR points for $500 spent on each AU card. The online offer said 13. My kids are 13 and 15. I ended up calling in because when I clicked through the email with the offer, it didn’t have any language about the 5,000 points for $500 spend, and I wanted to make sure I would get it. The agent on the phone was able to add my 15 yo DD, but wasn’t able to do my DS 13. She said to go ahead and do him through the email link and promised I would get the 5,000 points. I put $500+ on each AU card on Friday, and the points for both are already in my MR account, including for the 13 yo. On that same call, the agent offered to enroll me in the pay over time option for the extra 10,000 points which also posted almost instantly. I did the minimum spend by purchasing SW tickets directly from SW, so all in all, those offers netted me 25,000+ MR.

Definitely no coincidence and thank you so much to @afan and whoever else used my Delta Business Gold link because I received two bonuses of 5,000 Delta miles for the referrals. Makes me feel a little better about missing out on the higher sign-up offer, although I haven’t given up on asking Amex for some extra points. I do seem to have struck out with Chase on the increased sign-up offer for the CSP, but I’m ok with that since DH’s AF was waived.

So sad but true! I’m nearly done with the $8k combined MSR for my Marriott Biz, Delta Gold Biz (done) and DH’s CSP (done) for the three cards we got last month and gearing up for the $7k MSR on the SW Biz as soon as it arrives. I’m going to try to put as much non-bonus category spend on that one as possible (which was also my approach for the Marriott and Delta - no bonus category spend used) but might have to break that rule and pay off some of either Peru or Backstage Magic balances to knock off the SW Biz MSR. Definite first-world problems :)

OMG totally, LOL!!!

Called Chase regarding my SOs CIP application since he got the 7-10 day message. It wasn’t as awkward as I thought it would be having him verify his identity so Chase could speak to me. They just wanted to verify his address since we just moved. We have to send in a utility bill confirming our address. Hopefully he gets an approval after the verification.
