I love credit cards so much!

I was just looking at that. You'd still need a premium card to access the portal, but as long as you have one, it looks like a good option. The ceiling is lower on the 5x categories though (25K vs 50K) + a few other differences.

https://thepointsguy.com/2016/12/ink-business-preferred-vs-ink-plus-and-ink-cash/

I won't have a premium card after I cancel my CSR in Dec but we are keeping my dh's CSR and I move all points to his CSR. That should be good right? I will still be able to move my points to his card and access the portal through his account? I've debated keeping my CIP, especially as long as mortgage is coding 3x through plastiq, but I really want the 5x categories also! My dh has a CIP so maybe we will keep that one...

For those of us under the old CSR travel credit rules, the bonus resets in Dec, correct? I need to pay off our Christmas trip to Punta Cana so I am trying to hold-off to get the credit. (Not that we won't be doing plenty of traveling in 2018.)

Yes, it should become available for 2018 as soon as the Dec statement drops.

I have a Ink Cash, and am able to move points to DH's Freedom card. So yes, you'll be able to move points and access the portal through his account. I think it makes sense to make one of your CIPs into a CIC. Get 5x and save the $95 annual fee.

We're doing this too! I'm so excited! When are you going?

It's going to be a very short trip. We are flying out of New Orleans around 10:30 pm on Friday the 22nd and arriving at MCO around 1 AM. We're flying back home in the early evening on Christmas Day. When will you be there??

My family has never seen Disney decorated for Christmas so this is the primary reason for this trip. I'd love to do a longer trip, but my job's vacation rules won't allow it. We are completely blacked out for vacations beginning Thanksgiving week through the end of the year, which pretty much blocks out all the time our son is out of school for holiday breaks. With Christmas Day falling on a Monday this year, it worked out perfectly for us to do a quick trip without me having to take any additional days off from work. I know it will probably be crazy crowded and super hectic, and most of my family and friends think we are nuts doing such a short trip at such a peak time, but we are thrilled and can't wait!

Hoping some of the passholders here might be able to give me some insight on this. For our Easter trip, I'm planning to use SPG points to book Swan or Dolphin for the first 5 days, then use UR to book a Disney resort (thinking maybe POR) for the remaining days. My parents are wanting to come with us and will be staying in their own room, probably at the same resort we will stay at for the second part of our trip. I know with my AP, I'm able to book multiple rooms at a passholder rate through Disney. However, I'm assuming if we use our UR to book the resort, I wouldn't be able to get a AP rate for my mom's room for those same days, right? I'm trying to get her whatever discounts I can, but I don't think it would work out that way.

We're going the 15th through the 18th. Seeing the decorations is our main reason for going too! We have our APs until the end of February, but without CC rewards to cover flight and hotel we could never justify this.

If those are the 3 you're looking at, I'd think the CIP would make the most sense - it has bonus spend categories + same 80K pt signup bonus (though UR are much more flexible than Marriott Rewards Points so the edge still goes to CIP).

Or buy Starpoints while they're on sale for 35% off right now, convert to Marriott points. You'd need 22,000/3 = 7,333 Starpoints ($170.63 for 7500pts right now).

Your DH's Starpoints would go to his Marriott account, not yours. After they're in his Marriott account then he can transfer them to yours up to 50K points a calendar year (unless it's for a travel package in which case there is no limit).

That's a good idea. Never thought of buying Starpoints.. That would get me where we need to be.

I'm planning a similar trip for this February/March for 2weeks. My mother and I have each signed up for the Hyatt card. 40,000 points for $2000 spend. The Hyatt is 25,000/ night for double room with small balcony. I did transfer some of my UR points to Hyatt and have out first 4 nights scheduled. I'm not sure if you have any interest in going to 2 different hotels. I am now working on a Marriott card for 80,000 points. With the twitter points I have accumulated I should have enough points for 2 nights at the Stellaris

I like the Marriott Stellaris. Looks great. Right on the beach. So, am only 22,000 points short. Another poster suggessted buying Starpoints as they are 35% off right now. Or I could transfer some of my UR points if needed. I just signed up for a Twitter account (if I would have done earlier could have racked up some points). Still not sure how it all works with the Twitter thing...

I made this mistake earlier this year in transferring UR points, so maybe my mistake will help you. Realize the cash value of 22,000 UR is $220. Instead of transferring, you buy the Starpoints with your UR-earning card, then use 17,063 UR points as a statement credit. You're still out zero OOP, and use less UR points.

This DoC info is what I used to connect my Twitter to my Marriott account. Your Twitter email has to match your Marriott login email, AND your Marriott account has to be set for earning POINTS and not miles.

There were a lot of posts about Marriott and Twitter on this thread a few weeks ago...

Thanks. I just got in DH's account and requested a transfer of his 30,000 SGP Points to my SPG. Then I will transfer that to my Marriott Account. I think the easiest thing is to just buy the extra points needed - it won't amount to that much considering the hotel cost would have been about $2000 for the 6 nights and we also have free flights. Can't beat that!!

When DH and I went to Australia in 2000, we flew Quantas from LAX (after a SW flight from BWI to LAX). I am looking at United flight since we have enough URs to fly them from BWI to Sydney (via somewhere on the West Coast). Has anyone flown United to Sydney? We really liked Quantas so trying to determine best route. We have no Amex which I think you can transfer MR to Quantas. Plus United just sent me an offer for 50k and 5k for an authorized user for their MPE card. So I figure if DH and I both do that offer we would have 116k with United and would need less of our UR points.

I'm super jealous. We are working on planning our March/April trip for Easter break. Will be looking to book Swan or Dolphin with the bonus from my Marriott card within the next few weeks. I had planned to do a split stay along with Poly (our dream)
We're only staying 1 night at Poly. Our flight arrives early afternoon so we'll get DME to Poly and have pool time, no Park ticket. ADR at Ohana, maybe see fireworks. Next day, transfer bags to Dolphin and hit MK early! Plus we get new Magic Bands this way and Uber back to MCO is easy from Dolphin

My next trip is in end of January and then fingers crossed May so not sure...are AP rates out yet for the dates you are looking? I would just book your room right now with the UR points and then get on your MDE and book a room for your mom with the AP rate. We went last May with my folks and I booked a room for my parents with the AP rate and dining plan at a different time from when I booked our room. I later just linked their UT tickets to MDE.

Thanks for this. My TA told me in order to book a room for my parents at an AP rate, we had to be staying at the same resort with them, but could be in a different room. Going by that requirement, I didn't think our 'UR booked' room would qualify. I'll definitely look into this. My parents are doing the military salute tickets, so I'll get them linked in MDE and they can activate once they arrive.

Yes just get onto MDE and play with it yourself. Act like you are booking a room with the AP rate. It gets to the page where enter "who is staying?" As long as your parents are linked to you they are an option to put down as the people staying. You can even put down their address for payments and magicbands. If you want you could even put yourself as staying too or a child. If not doing dining plan doesn't cost more. In May I had my younger 2 girls on my room and my parents room as we were doing deluxe dining on their room.

I've got tons of catching up to do on here, but wanted to quickly say to Calypso, I'm LOVING all those pics you shared!!

I've used UR points to book 3 different Disney resort stays so far (June, October, and a 3 day Christmas weekend trip coming up), and I'm planning to use them for another trip in March. As others have mentioned, several here have used our UR for Disney resort stays. At this point, my goal is to have the least OOP for our vacations and using UR points in this way has allowed me to do just that and be able to have so many WDW trips in just a few months. I'm sure I could have found better "redemption value" using those UR points for something else, but for my family's current vacation goals this was a great redemption! I will say I've not noticed the Chase portal pricing to be higher. Maybe it's just the times I booked the pricing was nearly identical though.

I had planned to do a split stay along with Poly (our dream), but I'm thinking that just won't be possible. Now that neither of us can go for CSP due to the new rule and DH not falling back under 5/24 to get CIP until June, we just won't have enough UR to swing Poly this time around. It's a holiday so rates are way high. I guess I'll just save the Poly for another trip I want to take with just DH for a long weekend before our APs expire in June.

DH and I both scheduled our TSA Precheck appointments for Thursday, so we can get that squared away before our flight next month. Our 5 year old doesn't need this, correct? Just want to make sure I'm fully understanding how it works.
Not sure of your dates but keep checking, some dates are 100% booked already (we booked our family group trip last August at Dolphin,my Bro is having a tough time adjusting his dates due to capacity right now) I guess it depends on your break week.

Can't check now but I think the UR portal under the tracker for your travel credit on the right tells you the date on which your travel credit resets.

Make sure that's the offer your DH can pull up as well, United credit card offers can be very targeted.
