I love credit cards so much!

Looking at the Aviator Red with the increased bonus. Should I try for a double dip with the Arrival+? I don't have any Barclaycards yet. Has the Arrival+ been good for any of you? Is it a keeper after year one?

I'm near an AA hub so I have this card. I keep it simply because every year they have sent me an offer to earn 15,000 AA miles for spending $500 a month over 3 months. Also, they give you back 10% of the first 100,000 AA miles you redeem on award flights each year. We easily blow through over 100K AA miles a year so those 25,000 miles between the 10% back and the yearly offer outweigh the fee.

Have the Arrival+ and dumping soon as annual fee hits. I would have had it 2 years.
The bonus was great the 2% back of everything was great until they made changes
to the benefits. Now i prefer my Cap 1 venture.. I only need a minimum charge
of $25 to erase it where barclay now has minimum of $100.

I forgot to add an interesting thing about the Barclay Card is their balance transfer offer.
I get these every couple weeks to transfer or deposit for cash. It is only a 1% fee and
with their generous credit lines ( i got 22,000) I always think i may buy something
super expensive for 24 months for 1% interest. So that may be a perk for you for
something.(my friend transferred one of her student loans)

I never could think of anything so I'm going to close 8-)

2 questions before i apply for the SW Premier...I have a $4000 balance on my CSP right now ( MS since I just opened the account) . I was going to pay that today as is my habit of never having a cc balance. Will it look better if I have SOME cc balance ( I have 3 cc's I use regularly), or should I go ahead and pay that? Also, for the SW CP, do I need to sign up for that before applying for the card? Thanks for any help :flower3:

I also SM'd Chase for the SW match and received a reply already! I'm so excited because I had just pulled the trigger on the Plus, and we were going to spend unnecessary money on flowers to get our last points for CP. I've got the Biz card so now we'll have 125k points :)

@Albort Sorry to hear about your grandma. I hope the credit card stuff is as painless as possible so you can focus on family
New to this -- can you tell me what SM means? I applied for the plus just about a week ago and only had the 40k offer, now I see it's 60 and would love to see if I could have it changed :) Thank you in advance!

I wanted to thank everyone for posting about the 60K SW deal. I contacted chase and they will apply the 60k as soon as i spend $2k. :cool1:

Looking to contact Chase for the very same reason -- can you tell me what # you called or contacted? Did you just tell them you saw the new promo and were hoping to change to it? New to this, but hopeful I can have similar results :) I just got my card this week.

Thanks for the feedback. If I have an unsuccessful recon on the CIP after I get my letter (it feels like it's taking sooooo long) I think I'll go for both of these cards. I can't meet that much min spend at once, but I could do either the CIP or Arrival+ without a problem. Definitely going to grab the Aviator Red regardless.

As a side note, I got my mom to go for both SW cards, and spent a couple of hours going over everything with my friend last night, so now she's going to go for them too. If only I was getting referral bonuses! But I don't want to tell anyone to wait and see if the referrals are bumped up to 60K.

Decision decisions, I was planning on waiting to get the SW duo so that my CP came in January. I'm only at 1/24 right now, so that's not an issue, I only have 1 tentative trip planned for the end of this year, but will surely use it next year as Grand baby #2 comes Jan 5th, and lives in San Diego. Do I wait or do I jump the gun now? Hubby is at 0/24 with just 1 AU on the CSP that I just got. I do know I want to apply for either the INk P or the ink cash, so do I go ahead and get hubby to apply for the SW, and I wait till the end of next year,. Oh and I already have the SW P which I was planning on closing so I would have no problems getting new ones, but I was planning on getting the plus and the business, since I have a small craft/sewing business, How hard is it to get both the Premier and the plus and how far apart should I wait to apply if I go ahead and have hubby get them?

thanks

Just applied and approved for CSP in late May (probably 29th)...but of course, now the SW offers drops and I want to apply for both the personal and business to get CP. Any idea how strictly Chase enforces the 2/30 rule? The CSP put me at 3/24. Also, will being an AU on a CIP trigger the 2/30? Think mom applied and added me as AU last week.

Secure message. I went into my account and under the menu is secure messages. I did the rewards option for topic and just said I applied last week and see it's now 60k, would it be possible to match? And they told me just to reply to that message when I hit $2k spend and they will give me the extra 20k miles.

You weren't talking to me, but I did the same thing :) See just above for how I contacted them. That way it's in writing too.

Thank you so much! Just sent them a message :) *fingers crossed*

I just reconned the CIP after getting the letter today saying I had too many recent accounts. I thought I was golden because I was AU on 2 cards and had DH remove me. 40 minutes on the phone, on hold 4 or 5 times, sending it to a senior lender for approval, will hear by mail in 1-2 weeks. Not expecting anything good at this point. I just hope no one calls me to go over anything else. That was horrible.

Amex FHR comes through again. This time, I booked one night at the Delano in a suite before our 4 night stay at the Bellagio. Best part is you get to use the pool area/beach at Mandalay bay since they are sister resorts, which is amazing. My kids are thrilled. I paid $263.00 for the night which includes the resort fee. However, I get $60 per day for breakfast (2 days-check in day and check out day) and a $100 dining credit. So I get a $220 food credit to use for the 1 night. Booking the Delano also triggered the $60 off $300 MGM resorts AMEX offer so my stay is essentially FREE.

That sounds terrible. What were your recent cards and dates of approval? I'm seriously on the fence about applying for the CIP. Thanks!

That's a bummer. I'm working on spend for CSP so I could get some SW miles. If I'd waited 2 weeks, this would have been ideal. No way I can meet both. :guilty:

I'm in the same boat :(. I got the CSP a month ago and I'm half way through my spend, but can't juggle the SW spend too at the same time -- my husband would not be happy with me.

I got my own SW Plus and Premier in December, and a CSR in February. But I was an AU on 2 of DH's cards and I also got an Amazon store card. I knew that if I reconned and told them I had recently been removed as an AU on both of DH's cards, I wouldn't be 5/24. When I got the letter I was psyched to see that this was the only reason cited for denial. But then I got a rep on the phone who takes her job very seriously and she grilled me. She was very nice, but at the beginning of the call I was like "I GOT THIS" and by the end I wanted to tell her to forget it and hang up. If I actually get approved I'm going to be terrified to use it for anything other than shipping supplies. I poured myself a glass of wine to calm down when it was over. :D

Thanks for sharing. What an ordeal! I'm in for 2 new cards in the last 6 months, and 0/30. I've tried to take it slow, go after only big bonuses, avoid hotel co-branded cards regardless of bonuses, and focus on maximizing points and miles for the bonus categories on the cards I already have. I'm pretty sure I'll apply for the CIP. The signup bonus -- even at 80,000 UR -- is too versatile and tempting to ignore. I'd dread having to answer questions about my business because a lot of it is still prospective. (In reality, I'm also a bit nervous picking up new gigs and clients after stepping away from it these last two years.) And I'd really hate to waste a hard pull on a denial, even if it might ding my score by 10 points or whatever.
