This is where I will pay OOP and use the Amex Platinum Fine Resort and hotels benefit. We've stayed at both the Bellagio and the Wynn and found that the perks and benefits wound up exceeding the cost benefit analysis of using points for us. Currently, the Wynn, Bellagio, Mandarin Oriental and Palazzo are offering a 4th night free with Amex FHR. Each one is listed as being located on the strip, they are also offering daily breakfast credits for 2 (this alone wound up being worth over $320 on our last trip) a $100 spa credit, complimentary upgrade, noon check in and 4 pm check out.

Thanks for the reminder! No, AmEx but it did prompt me to check CSR's fine resorts and Mandalay Bay is on that list so I think we are giving that a try since DS will love their pools.

Good to know. Did you get your 5% redemption bonus when using your points And how long did those take to show up? I want to take those into consideration when planning how best to use my points.
Yes, the 5 percent rebate posted immediately as soon as i redeemed my miles.

I know there has been some talk about Vegas here. But just wondering which CC works best with Hotels in Vegas, right on the Strip. And I'm looking at NYNY, Mandalay Bay or Mirage specifically. Or just any of the other Vegas on Strip hotels...
We are headed to Vegas in mid June. I booked the Bellagio through Amex's fine hotel and resort portal. I believe it is a perk of having the Platinum card. The rate I got was $169.00 per night plus 4th night free. This includes $60 breakfast credit per day plus $100 resort credit. So I will get the 4th night free pus $340 in food credits. I am travelling with two kids and they usually charge $100 additional per day for a 3rd and 4th person in a room but waived it for me. We also get a room upgrade, late check out and early check in.

I think it's a great deal and jumped on it. I just checked and this deal is no longer available for my dates. I did have to pay a refundable deposit equal to one nights stay which was $191 and included the resort fee.

Wow! That is a fantastic deal! DW and I used to visit Las Vegas a few times a year before we settled down, and would've jumped on this deal. I guess there are a lot of newer hotels on the Strip and the Bellagio may not be able to command the same premium as it might've a decade ago, but it's still a beautiful hotel and it's central location can't really be beat. I'll definitely check the Amex portal next time we visit Las Vegas.

UR points work like cash with each point being worth 1.5 cents out the CSR account of 1.25 cents per point if you only have a CSP account. Oh that sounds like a fun trip!

Yes you do, because it is like you are paying with cash.
Actually you might want to double check on that. Right now I see you can transfer UR points to a SWA RR acct but there is not option to book SWA flights on Chase. Therefore if you transfer the points to your SWA RR acct you will not earn SWA RR points.

You can book SW flights through Chase/using UR points if you call Chase to make the booking.

Yes, I know that UR points can also be used to transfer 1:1 to SW, UA, BA etc. Over the last 4 years I'd only used them as points to miles transfers to book international flights in first. Finally used them as cash to book a flight to Iceland a few months ago. I was answering specific questions below which was about using the UR portal.

Does Chase use your points from your SW RR account or do they use the UR points?

That is an awesome deal. Kudos to you!

Our Vegas trip next year is planned with a few other couples. Is it possible to use any of the FRH benefits on multiple rooms? Just wondering if it might be worth it for me to think about putting everyone's rooms on my card and they can pay me cash.

just received this in an email:

Use your eligible Chase Freedom® or Chase Freedom UnlimitedSM Visa® card in Android PayTM 5 times on purchases made at Grocery Stores accepting Android Pay between May 15 and June 15, 2017, and you'll earn a $15 statement credit.

Only the first 24,000 cardmembers who qualify will receive a $15 statement credit.

i wonder if kroger accepts android pay

You can book up to 3 rooms per card member per stay and get the benefits on each room.

Travel credit changes coming to CSR. from end of year --> member year.

Here it is. So for those who want to double dip get the card now.

$300 Annual Travel Credit: A statement credit will automatically be applied to your account when your card is used for purchases in the travel category, up to an annual maximum accumulation of $300. Annual means the year beginning with your account open date through the first statement date after your account open date anniversary, and the 12 monthly billing cycles after that each year. (For applications submitted before May 21, 2017, annual means the year beginning with your account open date through the first December statement date of that same year, and the 12 billing cycles starting after your December statement date through the following December statement date each year.) Call the number on the back of your card to see when you are eligible for your next $300 Annual Travel Credit.

Aww man, I don't/can't do the card until the end of the year. I guess this makes it easier on figuring out when to apply since I won't be able to double dip. I don't blame them for changing it though.

Thanks for this heads-up. My oldest son (26 years old) has been wanting to apply for this. I'm sure he is not the target demographic for this card but what the heck -- he has a decent income (for a 26 year old) and according to credit karma his Transunion credit score is 810 so I just walked him through the application. Got the "we will let you know in 30 days" message. Worst that can happen is they say no, although it is a hard pull. He's not planning on applying for any mortgages or car loans in the near future so I guess it's not a huge cost.

I think it will be a keeper for me as well and if I could finish the spend on my hyatt and meet the spend on the csr without manufacturing spending I would apply before the switch. But I need the help of our DLP stay to help meet the spend.
