Thanks. I told DH about the CSR when he mentioned the Plat. A coworker has the Plat. Maybe he could do CSR now, and Plat next year. The 4k MS on the CSR is more doable for us than the 5k. We have a Dis trip in the spring and I think the spend could be made up pretty close by using the card for tickets, hotel and park dining, if I can time the card arrival just right, not sure that's possible as I need the tickets about 75 in advance to feel safe I have them in time to book fastpasses. If the goal is airfare and hotels, I'd go CSR. While the Plat earns 5x on air purchased directly from an airline, it does not earn more than 1x on hotel bookings that aren't done through the Amex site. The CSR also has the advantage of earning 3x on a much broader category of travel and also on dining (also a broad category). Plus the CSR $300 travel credit can be used on a much broader range of charges than the Plat airline fee reimbursement. That being said, I have both CSR and Plat, love them both and plan to keep both, but if I was forced to choose between the two, I'd choose CSR.
I also have a UR question. My understanding is that UR's are worth $.01 each, but when I use the Chase Pay app, it shows 33,517 points, but a dollar value of $268.13. Does that make sense?Shouldn't it be $335.17? I'm so confused by this. Thank you!

Don't pay with points!! It's 1 cpp if you cash out (actual cash or statement credit) but if you do other things with them it can vary now that they added all these pay with points options. So first off it is almost like a convenience fee reducing your value if you pay directly through Chase pay or the Apple store, etc on the Portal, but then on top of that you're not earning any new points on the purchase - so it's like a double tax.
Not everyone notices that, so good that you were observant; that's how they get you. Chase took a page out of AmEx's book there.
Same here! Every time I open it I verify it didn't get switched on. It helps now that I usually have a 0 points balance on the CF which is the default cardOk that explains it, thank you! Yep, definitely paranoid any time I use ChasePay that I'll accidentally use points so I always double check it.
Yes, back when I was showing and breeding we did sell the puppies to carefully screened homes. But for all responsible breeders it is very different than the idea of an investment. In our circle you don't get to have a puppy from one of us just because you have the money to buy one. I'm not sure if it is like that with horses.
My process and just about everyone I know, required an application online and if I liked what I saw then a phone interview. If the phone interview was good then everyone in the prospective family had to come and meet me and the 4 legged crew. If that went well, then we could proceed with a deposit and go over the 5 page contract that detailed their and my obligations and responsibilities with regards to the welfare and care of their new furry family member, aka, my grandpuppy. Show quality puppies were kept by me or placed with qualified show homes that had good referrals. This all took place before the puppies were born and I turned away many more families than I would allow to get on a waiting list. The puppies were my responsibility for life and always have a home with me, no questions asked, if circumstances for their new family changed. As a responsible breeder, I was also obligated to be there for those families whenever they needed support, advice on health, nutrition, training etc. I don't get to walk away from that the way I would if it was a car I sold. When the day eventually comes that they are faced with saying goodbye to the dog that has brought them joy and wonderful memories, grew up with their children has now crossed the rainbow bridge and left a gaping hole in their lives they are heart broken, then I'm the one they call. They need to be able to cry and reminisce with someone who understands, it's not "just a dog."
I think it's a lot more personal with showing dogs than it is with horses. It's definitely not an investment. I wish. Dog sowing and responsible breeding is a money pit. I was lucky to break even most years. There were some that I never could or would place because they had a firm grasp of my heart and soul. Two of them were Golden Retrievers and one was a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. I also showed and bred Cavaliers briefly but couldn't do proper justice splitting my time and effort in two breeds so I stuck with Goldens.
Don't do it!! Ha I messed up a few weeks ago. If you pay with points through Chase Pay it's even worse and they're only worth 0.8cppI also have a UR question. What card are you using at BJS to maximize the fee free VGC's?I hit up BJs again tonight for some fee-free VGCs and I am pretty sure they haven't replenished them since I started to hit them up. I also got stopped at the exit door because self check out has yellow receipt paper and the lady was surprised that it would allow that much without an override. So she called the LP manager over...took a look at the receipt and sent me on my way. I had to show my receipt on this one as I had purchased a double box of Cheerios as well.

Any ideas of good places to use Chase Pay for the bonus (after using Chase Pay 5 x for > $25)? I've been locked out of DH's online account twice from trying to use it at Walmart on DH's card and it's getting old! I remember WM was sensitive but this seems crazy! I bought a $25 gc two days ago, then tried again this morning and it locked me out (again)! I only need two more transactions to get the 3k UR points. Thanks!
Starbucks in-app reload works too!
Proud hot tea drinker/coffee detester hereThanks! But, I'm probably the one person in America that doesn't drink Starbucks! I don't care for coffee at all. I feel so left out sometimes because I don't.![]()
I will add myself to your group! I don't mind the smell, but I won't drink it. My dh started drinking in 3 years ago, as did my dd when she left for college. So I get Starbucks for her LOL, and we have not one, but TWO, coffee makers on the kitchen counter!Proud hot tea drinker/coffee detester hereNever tried it and hate the smell of it.
