This is a bit of a sidetrack. I'm an apple computer user, and I rarely purchase anything from Dell.com - just a monitor once. I added the AmEx 10% cash back offer to my cards, though, just in case. Well, today I received an email from topcashback for 20% cash back at Dell, so I decided to browse on a whim. Did you guys know that Dell sells cameras and lenses? They sell drones, and TV's, and headphones, and all kinds of other stuff, too, but I'm getting 30% cash back on a sweet camera body I've been eyeing, plus 3% back in Dell points. I think I need to pay a little more attention to their site.

Well we ended up driving up to target and I bought an Apple Watch in the store. We have an idea for the other one that I ordered online. Target was not prepared at all for this line. They had a random balloon that no one saw that said “line starts here” so we all formed our own line. They told us we had to move the line around as someone else was yelling that the line started by the balloon. Guess what happened? The “actual” line got filled with people and we all had to go behind them even though we were already in line. Luckily I was able to still get one but it was just a big cluster. When I was checking out they said they only had two white watches left. I got a grey one and I’m not sure how many were left. Dh thought they would have so many that we could go tomorrow so I’m glad I convinced him to go tonight.

They also sell video game systems at really good prices. Dell is definitely underrated.

Yes took advantage of this twice today, totally unexpectedly! They happen to sell Roombas as well....I bought one for myself then told my parents about the deal. They asked me to buy one for them too using my deals and they gave me the cash. I just wish the offer was on a MSR card LOL but still a great deal

Only one Black Friday thing I was interested in, a Roku Ultra at Walmart. At 6 pm, I was sitting at the dining room table, stuffed and unwilling to fight the crowds at Wally World. So I found it on sale at Amazon for the same price but forgot to use the $15 off for URs or any shopping portals. A little bummed, I’ll blame it on food coma, but glad I didn’t fight the crowds. No BF shopping for me, gotta work tomorrow

Anyone else playing the Lowe's game for a gc? Found out keyword for East coast is SAVE. Texted to 78133. Got a $5 gc...Can get more if lucky. I'm not that lucky enough..lol.

I did it after I saw it posted on DOC and we both got $5 here. That and dropping older daughter at Reagan for her trip to Spain (on Avios) are my Black Friday wins. I got to book a room with some of her remaining Avios last night as they have to be booked by a certain date. These are the ones from a special promo. I would have gotten 2 nights for free on her, but I already had one night paid for and if I cancelled it, no refund.

@Lain Sorry in advance for yet another United Mileage Explorer Card question. I think I remember you said you have a no-fee card. Which card? I know I can't PC DH's yet, but the plan was to PC it to the no-fee after a year...I don't see a no-fee version available. If they no longer offer it and we have to keep DH's as is, I may not get the United Card for myself. I may just focus on URs that we can transfer to United when needed.

Watching people on slickdeals win $100 and $500. We each won $5 here on all 4 phones. Free $20!! We have a google voice number I could try but I am not sure how to do it and my dh is asleep. Not waking him for $5.

The no fee United card is called, very plainly, the “MileagePlus Card.” LOL. You have to call in to the number on the back of your Explorer card after at least one year in order to product change it. The rep also referred to the no fee card as the MileagePlus rewards card, but confirm when PCing that it has no annual fee.

DoC has a write up about this card here. It’s the silver one in the picture.

P.S. not a bother; I’ve been up for the past 2 hours Black Friday shopping. Currently looking at the Tuft & Needle mattress deal on Amazon.

Thank you! I see that you can't apply for this card directly, which is why I couldn't find it when looking at all the United cards.

(If you get the Tuft and Needle, please report back on how you like it. DH and I have discussed it - and may others - from time to time.)

I used the app, which is just like regular txt msg. If you know the google account login for the google voice number could just dl the app. I haven't done it from the computer in a while so I'm not sure what the page looks like now. It worked for Lowe's, still only got $5 though :p

As a tangent (and rant), I’ve come to really hate shopping for gift cards at my local Lowe’s store. I’ve been trying to use up the Amex 10% offers at Lowe’s on my wife’s and my Amex cards, doing $100 or $200 every now and then to stay under the radar, since I have until the end of November before the deal expires, and in the past two weeks, my closest store suddenly started requiring a manager or head cashier to authorize gift card purchases over $200, but that hasn’t stopped some overzealous cashiers from asking for approval on every gift card purchase. And then, I’ve had several cashiers start telling me I can’t use a credit card [to buy a gift card]: “Can’t buy credit with credit” (what? Didn’t know you could buy a “credit card,” not even trying to buy a prepaid card; no use explaining that I’m buying a third-party merchant’s gift card), or “That’s always been Lowe’s policy” (uh, no. Not as recently as last week or at your other stores), or “You can’t use a credit card to buy a gift card anywhere, Target, Walmart, Best Buy...” (uh yeah you can, and I do it all the time!), and the kicker, “it’s against the law!”

I ended up driving 10 miles down the freeway to another Lowe’s and finished off what has become a PITA offer with $500 in Amazon gift cards, which I’ve been stacking with the Amex MR 20% Amazon deal (thanks @wendow, since I checked here before seeing it on DoC and SD). No problems there.

I’m going to bite the bullet and get it. You should do so, too. It comes with a 100 day free trial, and if it doesn’t work out you can call Amazon’s special handling team to work out the return and refund. The Black Friday prices today are the same as on Prime Day back in July, and I had a major case of FOMO from not jumping on that deal then.
