I love credit cards so much!

It's essentially a cash-out on the Arrival+. You have a travel charge, go to your rewards, choose to apply awards against a travel charge, and select the appropriate charge. The rewards will appear as a statement credit.

I'm a big proponent of the A+. It's a great card with rewards that are super easy to use. Of course, it's not particularly useful after the sign-up bonus. But it is churnable, so make sure you put a few charges on it throughout the year - Barclays values ongoing use more than any other issuer.
We went ahead and got the southwest biz card. Thanks for the info though!

Did your DH have enough points for the other 2 tickets? You could have purchased the other 2 tickets with miles under his account.

I got two tickets with points from his United account. He had enough for three but the flights I wanted did not show up for three people. Very strange. When I selected two people they showed up, so I thought I'd book the other two (me and dd10) with my points and my account. That's when I ran into trouble. I tried to transfer dh's points to my United account - no go. I also had an unused ticket I wanted to use for mine but it would not allow me to book dd10's ticket at the same time. When I tried to dd10's ticket in isolation would trigger the "Unaccompanied Minor" alert and would have charged me $150, and she's not "unaccompanied".

I ended up paying cash for me and dd10. It was still a huge savings. I'll use dh's miles to book our August WDW trip flights.

He has $0 on credit cards now. Had a small (around $500) balance for about a month...credit limit is around $1000 - so maybe that is it. He has since paid it. I will see what his score is next month. Thank you.

it should change within a week if he is signed up for Credit Karma.

What about the Chase Ink Preferred? It has the ability to transfer to partners, wouldn’t add to 5/24, plus a bonus of 80,000 UR ($5000 MSR). There’s also a referral bonus of 20,000 UR if your DH wants to get it (or already has it).

I wonder if I'd qualify for that. I think I"m pushing Chase to the limit. Should I apply today?

It's ironic but I'm thankful for 5/24 today since it will force me to slow down a bit until next Spring. FOMO hit hard and the 20K+ MSRs we are working on make me nervous (even though there is a plan in place to meet them). I'm sure I'll be complaining about it soon. And I said we'd only get 2-3 cards at most. :rolleyes1

We’re on our annual pilgrimage to Disneyland for Thanksgiving. I have many things to be thankful for this year, including the fine company we keep here. Thanks, all, and have a very happy Thanksgiving!

Have a fantastic trip! What a fun mix - DL and Thanksgiving! Enjoy the holiday overlays, too!

We are planning to do RCCL Symphony of The Seas next Aug but these Amex cruise offer has me looking at looking at Carnival cruises, specifically like the Horizon which seems comparable to the Symphony. Anyone have thoughts or a better option for DS11? The Horizon has the Southern Caribbean itinerary that would be new to us.

I don't know anything about Carnival, but I wanted to let you know that there is a long thread on the DCL page here all about Carnival. The people posting there seem to really like Carnival and could probably answer most of the questions you might have.

Only 1 Chase biz card and last app 3 months ago. Seems good to me, but I’ll let the experts chime in. :)

Looks like your 4/24..last Chase application in August....so you seem to be okay on timing....how are your credit limits with Chase vs income...you may what to reduce some on existing cards if they are high prior to applying
Also remember if you have a P2 with the CIP to use a referral

We have done both when our kids were around that age. If all else were equal - Symphony would win hands down and our kids have always preferred the kids clubs on RCCL. However, we wouldn't hesitate to cruise Carnival if the cost savings were significant. In fact, we are doing just that next April.

How long did you wait after approval before confirming your SW offer was attached?

Now to decide if I want 2 CPs or 1. I wish I knew exactly where my big kids would land for the next 2 years, there will always be at least 4 of us to cover though.

Lessons learned for last night’s very late night:
1. Do not rent from Budget! It took almost 2 hours to get our car at MCO at 12:50 am. Their agents were clueless. Clearly, FastBreak should be snail pace.
2. On late arrivals, stay at the Hyatt!
3. Do NOT rent from Budget!

Getting to our hotel after 3 am did not make us happy campers and now we are exhausted today. Luckily, this is a laid back getaway. Today, Relax, swim, go to Dave and Buster’s, shop and dinner at PF Chang’s. Tomorrow, SeaWorld, move to Sapphire Falls and dinner at CityWalk with my brother. Fri and Sat TBD...oh and did I mention DS11 through a fit when we arrived at the shuttle parking lot and said he didn’t want to go and wanted to stay home! He said he would rather be in school today because he had a science quiz and it was going to be a fun day.
oh no, I have budget reserved for MCO in Dec. Does fast break not mean skip the counter?

DS's (19) credit score according to credit karma dropped 40 pts this month. There is no change in anything other than he has not been using his CC while at school. He always paid balance in full and has never made a late payment.
His credit score has consistently been above 700 (close or around 750). Now it is below 700.

What would account for the sudden drop?
That happened to my DH for no reason at all one month and the next month it went right back up. It was odd.

I went 4/24 on November 7th. I got the CIP back in August. Looking to get another card come December 1st. Is it too soon to go for CIP#2?

Could you not book you and your DD on the 2nd reservation using DH's points/account?
I am not familiar with united, but I can book a flight for whomever I like using DH's SW account/points.

I tend to be timid, but I think I'd at least wait til 12/1 and likely until 1/1/19.
Waiting til 12/1 would drop off that chase united card from you x/12 count and waiting til 1/1 would drop 3 chase cards from your x/12 count.
ETA: Esp since it is a biz card it will likely be reviewed by a real person...at least I assume that is what happens when you don't get instant approval.

You should be in the clear from here on out, until maybe 12/20.

The big issue is timing the closing date of your first statement. The AF posts at the close of the first (and 13th/first Year 2) statement. You want it to close sometime in December, preferably at least a week into December, or later. So your first year and second year AFs post in December, giving you 30 days -- into January (2020) -- to close your card and still get a full refund of the AF.

DP for above.....I applied 11/19, APPROVED! targeted mailer), first statement closing 12/13, if that helps!
