if i do the cip what is the best way to apply to get the most points? does this one have a 100,000 offer floating around?
The only way people are getting 100,000 is by going in branch and applying through a "business relationship manager". Not all branches have one, and while people have reported successfully working with BRMs from what I've read those bankers are supposed to focus on businesses who have income of $500K+.

it depends on how you see SPG points. I see it as 3x since you transfer from SPG--> Marriott @ 3:1 ratio. so 10k SPG = $300 in my eyes. also 28k UR = 28K marriott points since its 1:1.
thanks! It's hard to envision values etc sometimes across programs- I had a choice I wanted a night at Dolphin (online rate was about 270) and had a choice- use 10k spg or around 18k UR for the night. (resort fee extra of course) I chose the UR option- I don't know if I'm right or wrong but I tend to hoard my few and valuable-at-Disney SPG points.... anyway it's decided!

Seems like a good deal. For my dates Dolphin is $430 or 29k UR points or 10k Starpoints. I used Starpoints

What dates are you going? I've been looking at random times to get an idea of availability but I'm not finding much?

having both SPG and UR, i find UR easier to earn than SPG. Id also go UR over SPG. 10k SPG to me = 30k UR, so 18k UR to me is the better bet.
others may not see it that way like @CyndiLouWho :P but if her point difference is almost the same.

UR are easier to earn, but easier to spend since there is such variety of ways to use UR. SPG are also flexible so when it comes to choosing, in this instance, Dolphin is pretty consistently 10k Starpoints and UR vary a lot. So if UR rate is lower (hsmamato2's 18k) I would use UR. If UR is higher (mine at 28k, I've seen up to 35k) then Starpoints seem better. But it is just the way I value those points & that hotel. Everyone has different preferences/values.

I'm debating how to book the Dolphin also. I'm looking at another night for my fiance and his best man to stay in the night before the wedding.
14k UR or pay cash, $230 and earn SPG points on my SPG Amex... Only have about 5k SPG right now. I guess I could buy another 5k for $113 right now.

Now in that case I'd go with UR assuming you have enough.

i believe Chase just looks at your credit report, if it counts 5 hard pulls on credit in the last 24 months, it puts a stop...

I'm pretty sure that it's new credit card accounts that Chase looks at and not the hard pulls. For example, my hard pull from refinancing my house isn't going to count toward the 5/24, but my new credit cards will.

agreed.and it's WAY helpful to have a discussion about viewpoints, it helps me to decide how I want to use them too:thumbsup2

Personally,I bought some SPG to hoard in this sale- but to me if you have UR for 14k that's a deal! (taxes may be extra) of course I'm a fan of spend a little sometimes, use points wherever possible at all other times!

Earlier this morning I applied for the CSP and got the we need more time to review, you will hear from us in 30 days. I have tried calling the status line but keep being transfered to a person. Should I call the recon line and see if I can push it through or just wait them out.

Yeah, I think I might do that. I've got two other single hotel rooms to book, Maybe I'll book this and my other room with points, and pay cash for the cheapest. It didn't cross my mind to look at this until yesterday. Probably because I was thinking of it separately, since this room was going towards our wedding budget and the others towards the honeymoon burger, but at the end of the day, it's all coming from the same place :)

I wish the cancellation policy was a day or so like normal instead of the Disney 5 days. I'm secretly hoping that our room for the week will get upgraded because I put our wedding on the reservation lol. With my luck they'd put us in a big suite where we could get by without the second room.

Yeah! It came up 12kish and even after taxes it was 14k. I might have to pay the one night resort fee in person, I can't remember now, but still good.

I thought it ended 6/29.

It was rumored to end 6/29 due to a facebook advertising post, but the link still continue to be live until yesterday.

is the basic one still alive?

Yes, the original one is still working @ 60k, the premier is not though. Still shows 60k on site, but once you try to apply, it errors out. :\

edit: actually, both links dont work for me, haha. im on a VPN though.

yes, its okay to talk to recon for personal cards... it could be as simple as seeing an AU or too much credit and need to move credit around.
