I love credit cards so much!

Let’s not forget the IHG free night devaluation, which happened with little to no notice. It was only after considerable backlash that Chase walked back the change and grandfathered some customers back into the unlimited certs for another year.

While I agree major changes to the benefits or program, like the loss of price protection and changes to how the CSR’s travel credited purchases earn points, were announced with a lot of lead time beforehand; and these recent nerfs feel more like patches aimed at churners — I feeling very sour on Chase right now and wouldn’t put anything past them in the future.
I can respect that opinion. I see it differently on this one but wouldn't argue someone that takes that position. I also keep all my URs consolidated on the CSR immediately...so paranoia still wins the day for me on that one haha.

Can MR be transferred from one person to another? I'm taking another look at point requirements for our proposed 2020 Australia trip, considering flying one direction on UR and one on MR.

Not directly like UR :( However, if you are an AU (or employee user) of the card you can transfer those points into your linked loyalty program. I haven't done it yet myself, but was researching since we don't have a ton of MR. Separate we have enough in hubby's account to get 1 award ticket on some airline, but if I could figure out how to add my pittance to his then we'd have enough for 2 for most redemptions.

So I was hoping to make one of us an AU on the other's card so we can pool points into someone's account for the 2nd ticket, but most reports have AmEx reporting the date you became AU as your card open date so it would screw up my 5/24 count. Was hoping to get one more Chase card before that happened (well really 2 but that might be dead now too) so I think I'm working on plan B.

Does anyone know what happens if you have Chase UR points and you close your account? Do you lose the points? Hearing that Chase may close the ability to transfer points makes me worried. I was planning to close my CSR after DH gets his, and I was going to transfer my points to his account, but if they close that loophole soon, I need to know what will happen to my points. I will have about 15000.

On a true shutdown, they give u 30 days to transfer them out to whoever u want them to go to. In this case of csp getting shut down, I have no idea.

Just had a thought. Makes me wonder if all this shutdowns is the reason why they are holding all MSR bonuses until future notice.
@Albort - FYI @DLgal isn't worried about a shutdown from what I see. I know we are all thinking in terms of that right now but she was just asking a simple question :). She only has a CSR (and perhaps Husband has no UR earning card yet). She didn't double dip if I remember correctly. She was asking about her actively choosing to close her CSR and what happens to points in that situation, LOL.

@DLgal - I would maintain that you should probably PC your CSR to a CF or CFU when the time comes rather than shut it down and you'd never worry about points going away. Ideally transfers will still be possible though and you'll have no issue.

I have an offer for 50% off at Kmart. Was thinking about going for some third party gift cards. The nearest one is about 30 minutes away. So before I make the drive, does anyone have an idea of what cards they might have? I realize this can vary by location, but any insite is appreciated! TIA!

Has anyone else seen their Chase bonus go to pending? I’m sure bonuses are probably just going to be in a state of limbo until Chase finishes shutting down all the cards they’ve got it into their heads to shut down. But just wondering.

Not sure if you're referring to CSR/CSP bonuses or not, but I am still waiting on a CIC MSR bonus that I met on 8/17.

I did just see that my CIP referral bonus is pending. I am confident this did not show up on Tuesday night. I am still missing a referral bonus for my CF that someone used the same day of my CIP referral, but I'm not sure I ever heard that they were definitely approved for the CF.

That one was just bizarre. I still shake my head on that. I hope that was just an outlier because that was just such an odd way to handle that situation. (I can't help but think of it as the Jelly of the Month Club move)

Just Chase bonuses in general. The one I’m waiting for myself is DH’s CIP.

Is there anywhere to check to see which airlines have the best 1st and business class saver fares? Trying to figure out what the best airline and then reward program might be for Australia. We flew Qantas when we went 18 years (in coach) but I would 3 tickets since DS11 will definitely be going with us. I see I can transfer Citi TY points directly to Qantas.

No. But if, say, your husband is an AU or “employee” on your Amex MR card, you could transfer your MRs to his airline loyalty account.

Thanks very much! I'd put off making him an AU until the last moment possible to not mess up his 5/24 (he's 1/24 right now). We'd be booking in Oct/Nov 2019 for Sept/Oct 2020.

60K business from MR > 80K business from UR lol

Or, if you’re comfortable, get an Amex MR business card and add DH as an “employee” user (effectively the same as an authorized user on a personal card). The card won’t report to your or DH’s credit reports or add to 5/24.

Nothing here yet on the CIP...met the spend 8/14..statement closed 8/19

Adding....this is P2 first CIP, since I’ve seen reports on Reddit of people opening up more than one..first with a SS number, then getting a EIN number for a second one.
