I love credit cards so much!

I started off with being Silver elite last week before I combined my nights.

That's what I thought.

Makes sense to me. I have - showing -23 nights and I have the 3 SPG's (I expect the Lux doesn't count.) But my personal is really old and my Biz was before Aug 1 so it should count. They aren't counting it - yet. I haven't called though.

I also have both Marriott cards from well before Aug 1.

So, I'm showing 5 nights from Starwood and 18 nights from Marriott = 23.

And, I'm GOLD elite. Figure that one out.

Based on my thinking I should have 10 nights through both Starwood Credit cards and 30 nights through both Marriott cards and 3 nights through the 3K (9k) spend option.

Looks like credit for 1 card each plus the spend in my details.

So, I'm thinking Gold is a match to my former lifetime Starwood status. I don't know and here I was getting ready to get those nights towards Platinum - I'm thinking 7 and right now they are saying 27.

Editing to add: Daughter has Platinum, mostly through cards. She does have some nights stayed.

If you've combined accounts then the Gold Elite may be from the SPG Lux already, since that's a perk of the card. This assumes they have your member numbers all straight and the Lux is linked to your account successfully. Otherwise you would have needed Gold Preferred Guest to map to new Gold Elite.

I know the SPG Biz and the Marriott Biz were opened recently, so I guess that's the 5 from SPG and 15 from Marriott. When's the anniversary for the Marriott Premier and SPG personal? You may not have gotten those nights yet? And yes, the Lux doesn't count; they didn't make the nights benefit active until 2019, so no stacking those.

I've got my fingers crossed we get our last nights for Platinum when the 15 anniversary nights from the Marriott Premier should post in a few months.

Mine seems off, as well.

I have: 15 mights from SPG (10 nights in bed + 5 nights for SPG biz) + Marriott 6 nights but nothing, nada for Marriott personal and R-C personal (I'd think they both would earn 15 so 30?). So I should have 51 which maybe I do since I'm platinum right now?

Unfortunately Marriott's systems aren't completely go yet so by the time I figure it out it will be 2019 and I'll be back at Gold?Silver?Rock?

If your nights are showing less than 50 after merging all the accounts, then I think you're Platinum from the RC card. I saw reports of being old gold from the RC matching to Platinum, but maybe it doesn't stick into 2019? (personally I think it should, you for sure paid for it. Gold status now doesn't really scream "Luxury" to me) But if you get your anniversary nights and it pushes you over then you'll keep the Platinum until Feb 2020. The RC platinum status is kind of up in the air AFAIK.

What was alarming me was that daughter got Plat Elite with almost the same credentials as mine. So, I'm going to call but I'll give it a little time. I'm going to be booking some actual rooms very soon for my New England trip and then also I'm going to the beach so with the cards I can easily make 50 nights if all my cards count. I'll be staying SPG/Marriott quite a bit next year, starting in January so I want it resolved sooner rather than later. The nights never showed for the Marriott personal I got last December. It had a waived annual fee as did my Spg Biz, and I'm wondering if that has anything to do with this. The difference with Daughter is she had personal spg just a few years less than me and SPG biz about 10 years or so before me. Then she got one of her Marriotts after I got mine, so its not completely adding up. She also has the Ritz card but it's hard to tell which cards they are counting.

I don't remember the specifics. I believe it was either an email or snail mail that they sent me. I honestly don't remember if I did it online or by phone but it was definitely something they initiated originally asking if I wanted to upgrade. They charged me a prorated af from Sept to Jan and then the whole $95 af in January. Hope it goes better for you!
@Mopedmom1 & @SouthFayetteFan I accepted the upgrade to the BCP in March. No hp and no af the first year. I thought it was a great offer since I was trying not to add to my 5/24 count.

You are a genius!

I had 5 nights in my account all along from my SPG personal that's opened since 2001. When I got the Marriott Biz, the 15 nights posted sometime along when my bonus points posted. That was in June/Julyish.

The Marriott personal has never posted the nights, and my SPG Biz was on July 31 before they changed the terms, and I called in looking for a match. Never heard anything back. I guess I should call and verify the terms as I complete spend. Cause if by some miracle I have a match instead of a thousand it would be 5K and I would have to get cracking, cause I have the Lux 5K to do also with only $78 posted yet. I've done $960 on the Biz, so I could also do $40 today and see if I get a $100 statement credit which was the bonus when I applied. I just really need (1) more 15 night credit and I can make platinum as I can pretty easily get 12 nights by Dec 31.

I've got my fingers crossed we get our last nights for Platinum when the 15 anniversary nights from the Marriott Premier should post in a few months.

How long have you had your Marriott Premier? Mine is 1 year on Dec 25th, so if it were to post then, I'd just need the 12 nights.

Ok, this explains Platinum for daughter as she has the Ritz card.

The 15 come on your first anniversary?

I can't remember when I started getting the 15 nights - this was my 2nd anniversary, so not a good data point. It has always been hard to track Marriott nights - they don't do a good job of showing you the tracking (which is why spreadsheets were invented - unfortunately before I got sucked into this group I was more lackadaisical about tracking this kind of thing).

Okay, reading through others comments sometimes clarifies things a lot. Marriott personal was Dec25, 2017. So if the 15 nights ever posted, they would have been gone by Jan 1, 2018 because aren't these calendar year qualifiers? So, my next 15 in Dec 2018 should count. The only remaining question is the SPG qualifiers....a July 31 application should get them unless I was approved for the new terms. I doubt it but there's a slim chance.

I'm just coming up on my first anniversary next month. I was just curious because that would then put me really close to the new Platinum...

@wendow - what is the anniversary of your SPG cards? You may be same as me - anniversary year not ended yet, but first year nights gone as it was 2017 for your first SPG application? If so, they may be coming on your anniversary! Before this year ends.

Sapphire UR Portal has been updated and I see Disney hotels!

At least CC, WL, OKW, BRV in addition to the Poly,

any chance you would look for me and see what the Poly costs on Nov 2, 2018? On UR points I mean? I don't have a Sapphire but may have one by then.

Replying to myself here as I sort through my confusion!

Applied for Marriott personal card on Dec 25th, 2017.....did not get it until probably early January and probably did not look at my 'nights' in my Marriott account because it was of no concern to me at that moment. This now makes much more sense. Now, pending the SPG Biz info, I either have 7 nights to make or 12 nights to make (Platinum) by Dec 31, 2018. The 7 were easy peasy. The 12 will require a stretch - may have to try that meeting thingy after all to make it simpler.

The 15 should post. How many more nights will you need?

The terms for meetings have also changed - my read is that you can still get 10 nights for the first meeting (of any kind) that you book in a year. After that first meeting, you'd need 10 utilized guest rooms in a room block to get any elite nights (and I'm a little fuzzy on that, even, as I don't ever book meetings with room blocks). So I think it is still an option to get 10 nights in a year, but no more (unless you are booking big events). Kinda like the no stacking rules for credit cards - you can get a little closer to elite status, but you won't get all the way there without actually having a substantial number of hotel nights.

Out of curiosity, do we have a pretty good number of people here with 3 Chase business cards? I'm wondering if there's still a bonus on CIU in early 2019 if I might pick up that card. I currently have Marriott Biz (1/18) and CIP (5/18). I'm thinking if there's still a bonus I could pick up CIU in 2/19 and pad my URs a little more to pay off our 9/19 Disney trip. Going for a third business card makes me nervous though, but I know others have done it. If I waited until 2/19, I would only be 1/12 with Chase before applying since I don't plan to get any other cards with Chase between now and then.

I'm looking I hit post on accident! :)

Ok, I did 2 adults, one night on Nov 2 = ok, I don't see any Disney ones this night :( I see them next Tuesday night, and I picked a random day in January... :confused3

I've got 26 now (which adds up to me because I had 15 in SPG and 11 in Marriott before combining), Marriott anniversary is next month so 15, I've got a 6 night stay at the Dolphin next month... I get 47, so 3 nights?

Hm, I thought the SPG Biz before Aug 1 was still eligible for the 5 nights/2 stays. @jhoannam I think you got it for the nights when it was the $200 credit bonus right? did you ever get the 5 nights like you wanted?

Forever :p Or at least it feels like it, at least 6 years but I think it's closer to 7. Since this is hubby's card I'm a little fuzzy on it, I have to have him check on it so I can stalk the anniversary elite nights. But we've been getting our anniversary night cert on Dec 1 the last few years. So somewhere around there is where I'm expecting the nights to show up (way to wait until the last minute, right? nail biter)

Do you have any rollover nights showing in your detail breakdown? Like the Marriott Biz I was sure you got your nights at card open because that's what gave you Silver Elite status, and then each card anniversary year there after you got nights. So if you opened it in Dec, I'd have expected you to have 5 rollover nights in your total this year (need 10 to make Silver for 2017, anything left after making status is eligible for rollover) I wish I'd have paid more attention last year but when I calculated all our rollover, having the 5 nights from the card is the only way it added up. But if all the bloggers are to be believed, you should be getting your anniversary nights late Dec and may make it? You didn't upgrade yet to the Premier Plus, right?

I'm just coming up on my first anniversary next month. I was just curious because that would then put me really close to the new Platinum...

You are the data point I'm waiting on. The not stacking card nights was supposed to go into effect 2019 so in theory we should all be good with this year's anniversary nights. Everyone says it should work, but I'm getting nervous with all the program terms changing and nothing being mentioned about this sort of "grandfathering" this year after the merge.

I think you just need to stay at the Dolphin for 9 nights instead. :rotfl:

I think it would be worth it to make the effort to get 3 more nights (esp if you have points for them). Gold is meh, but platinum gets you some good stuff - I'm a fan of lounge access, breakfast and am intrigued by the "suite nights" where you can request an upgrade to a suite in advance a certain number of times per year. Never had those before, so hoping my upgrade luck will improve once I get them.

So my 20k self-referral bonus on the SPG Lux posted to my new SPG account (haven't merged with my Marriott account yet) this morning. Applied 8/24, noticed the points added to the YTD tally on my Amex SPG Personal account about 8/26, posted 8/29.

There's also an additional 20k points, so I'm guessing someone out there used my link and didn't tell me. Don't be a stranger; we're all friends here. Thank you so very much.

I'll be the data point I'm waiting on too :P If they do come through, then I guess I'll book one night at a Starriott in Nashville since I need one anyways, and then maybe that's what I'll look for when I go back to see my cousin's baby for the weekend...

How long does the status last? I never paid attentions since I thought I would just be meh gold.
