Clearance socks were my jam.
I'm still using the pencils and tape I bought with every gc order to make it a 'legit' number...those were good times... I got in about 6 months or so
I keep meaning to post and then spend all my time just getting caught up BUT wanted to say a HUGE THANK YOU for all of you DVC members who encouraged me months ago about your initial feelings on your DVC purchase and your continuing thoughts. I can't remember who all but everyone who took the time to respond was a huge help to me in deciding to just go for it. I just sent off the closing paperwork with a direct purchase at OKW (cheapest way to buy direct and still fit my family of 5) and I have a resale contract for BLT with Disney in ROFR right now. If resale was not such a cost savings I would just buy more direct as seeing the 30,000 UR's post on my Reserve is pretty sweet and so easy!
And side note, I really appreciate everyone on this thread. As part of this DVC quest I have been looking at that section more and while there is some helpful information on there and I have "met" some nice people I also find a lot of really negative and judgmental people who overall can be just annoying. I can truthfully say that on here I like everyone and would be happy to meet in real life!
We loved cabana bay! Had an amazing week there last August. We liked Pop too but our room was so noisy (from the pool) it was kind of miserable. Probably an issue at any Disney value—especially in the summer when people are in the pool late. For our Sept trip, I currently have Cabana Bay booked with 11973 URs and All Star Movies for $153 ($109 free night plus $37.50 OOP for discounted Hotels.com gift cards.
Now I see a Pop room only offer on Disney's site. So I could call in and have Chase Travel book that for 9360 URs, and switch my Cabana Bay reservation to Hotels.com for $179 ($109 free night plus $59.25 OOP for discounted gift cards)... so paying $21.75 more but saving 2600 URs... More decisions! Why do I continue looking and changing things?
ETA: Technically the URs are worth $39+, so mathematically I'm better off switching? Maybe $18 isn't worth the effort, but I do like Pop so that's more emotional$20 won't make or break the budget either, right now I'm at $343 for flights and 9 hotel nights, and $189 of that is the resort fee at the Dolphin.
Pretty sure I recall reading that the crime rate increases during the summer.

It's a 30 lb sandbag. I didn't believe my dh when he said I have visible back muscles so one day during a special outdoor workout, a trainer took this picture without me knowingWhat are you carrying in that pic? Love seeing the new avatars!
It's been a long time since I have changed mine. The baby in my photo is going to be starting kindergarten next month!

Now that I have the CIC, I'm going to try my hand at this whole buying a gift card from gyft.com. Any promo codes for first time users that anyone knows of? And do I have to do anything special to make sure the CIC code the purchase correctly? I feel like there is but I haven't paid attention to those 'chatterings'.
No promo codes that I'm aware of. Add your CIC to PayPal. When checking out on Gyft, select PayPal, log in with your credentials, make sure the CIC is selected as the method of payment. As a new user, take it slow, avoid large denominations, build up some history and pattern of purchases. It's super sensitive to potential fraud like PPDG and may put your order on hold or decline the transaction.
Anyone else get this? I am going to check it out and see what they have for gift cards. I had thought about getting a Best Buy gift card and then convert with Swagbucks to pick up Disney...but that is dead. Bed Bath seems to be hit or miss...not sure the risk is worth it...or if they even sell those gift cards.
